Heck, they could be directly or indirectly responsible.
  3. I have a Brute, however, I tend to avoid them (and Scrappers) because I find them to be too fragile.

Indeed. Every time they put a new face on Bond they don't laboriously go through an origin.

No mention one way or the other of a human arm and muscular human arm option for the arm/upper arm section of the Robotic Arm categories? I reiterate that this seems like a simple way to create sleeveless and asymmetrical (since two of the aforementioned categories are inherently asymmetrical) options for numerous Tight selections.

And poker chips... that's one of my favourite oddball systems that I never got to actually play. Loved the setting and idea, though.

We could do it in Call of Cthulhu and lose SAN every time Arcanaville explains the math behind something in excruciating detail using the missing number.

I avoided it for awhile because the demi-organic premise and designs were so horrible. I eventually started watching it because my friends were raving about it, and was surprised how good the show was even though I never liked the demi-organic premise or designs.

I think it and TF: Animated are the only TF series I've cared for past G1. I think I might like TF: Prime if not for the humans in the show.
  9. Okay, I gotta ask: in what kind of bizarro world does it make sense to put the reply in front of the quote it's replying to? It creates a moment of "What the heck are you talking about... OH! I see. It would've made more sense had I saw that first."

I miss pre-ragdoll Whirlwind. I still remember when I first saw the power and the character using it had his arms straight out to the sides as he spun and I said "I gotta have it!". Now they just kind of limply hang and it's just not cool.

Ah, yes, "Rolemaster" is the correct title. My stupid brain got left and right mixed up for a moment.

You brought up Heroes U, the best thing about those books was the art. They had some really great art in them.
I found it to be pretty generic, for the most part. And they reused the art between books so much that we began calling it stock footage.

You must not have gotten on that train as early as I did. I remember when 1s cancelled out successes, which often meant that rolling more dice (read: being more skilled) just meant that you could fail harder. I tend to dislike dice pool systems as a general rule anyway, but that was one of the worst offenders.
  12. I still haven't read Dance with Dragons. I've had it since release, and it's been sitting there mocking me. I pick it up and try to read it, but I'm somewhat lost because it's been so long since I read the rest of them, and I can't force myself to slog through those books again.

The whole series? I must've missed it. I saw The (not-Real) Ghostbusters series pop up for a bit, but that show was horrible and boy was I ticked off as a kid when the TV Guide tricked me into watching it with its crafty similar-name-ness.

    S.
I'd tend to agree, however, given the prior offerings I'll be happy to have a reboot if it turns out to be enjoyable.
  15. If the Borg were tribbles at least they'd be marginally interesting.

My friends and I tried to play it back in 86 but kept getting bogged down in character creation .
My understanding was that Champions *was* the Hero system. My first brush with it, IIRC, was Champions 3rd Edition. At that point, the only other system I'd seen that was so horribly bogged down by its own mechanics was Loremaster.

Do I? No. Could I? Probably, though the battery life might not last through the entire movie.

The sleep-playing would likely have lasted a longer time if not for the auto-logout. I'm assuming the Ouro TF-esque setup interferes with that somehow. And I'd say that therein would lie the true source of this potential "exploit".

You can get tokens by buying points. There's your option to "buy them". What they're charging is however much it would cost you to buy enough points to get the required tokens.
  19. The worst part is that they show MLP:FIM, but I still had to add that to my queue because I missed several episodes due to the timeslot.

I managed to catch pretty much every episode of Jem without trying, though. I used to hate that show, now it reminds me of any number of anime that I watch.
  20. My system of choice would be Mutants & Masterminds. I'd say it's overall the best superhero RPG I've come across. It's easy to pick up, quick to play, and offers top notch customisation. It's a d20 game, but it's also not exactly a d20 game.

I never cared for the HERO/Champions. I found it too complex to deal with in play.

Guardians of Order's Tri-Stat system (the basis of Big Eyes, Small Mouth) is okay for a fast and loose game. You can do a lot with it as long as you don't quibble too much over details.

Palladium's Heroes Unlimited is one of the worst systems I've ever had a great deal of fun playing.

White Wolf's Storyteller system sucked. They made some great game settings chock full of interesting lore, but their system was just bad. When Aeon (and later, Aberrant) came along, some changes were made that made the system suck less at combat, but it ultimately still wasn't very good.

The old DC Heroes game (by Mayfair, was it?) had an interesting system for building characters of disparate power level without stats getting too out of hand. But I found the system a bit awkward in play.

The later DC game that used WEG's D6 system was even worse to play.

Marvel has had a few RPGs. The one by TSR with the FASERIP ability scores could be fun to play with a great deal of modification and some structured, non-random character creation tacked on. The card-based game was kind of fun to play, but it had issues. And a later game that used bead/counters and no dice was just awful. Apparently there's a more recent game, but I have no experience with it.

World of Synnibarr had some very interesting ideas which could be refined into a superhero or DBZ game. But it would take a lot of refining.
  21. I'd like to see a "Bare Arm" and "Muscular Bare Arm" option for all of the "Robotic Arm" categories. This simple addition would allow for numerous asymmetrical and sleeveless looks for a plethora of the tight Chest options.
  22. I don't care about making the game fun for others. It's apparently an occasional side effect of my own fun when I get on a team, but it's not something I strive to accomplish. If I were playing with my actual friends it would be a bit more of a concern for me.
  23. I've seen a head on shot, and while I think the look is good enough that I won't complain vehemently about it, in said shots his face is too human.

Also, I find myself surprisingly optimistic about the movie in general. So far it looks to me like it could potentially be much better than the last three.
  24. Yeah, if I hadn't already "relived" much of these over the past several months on The Hub, I'd probably have put them in my queue when they showed up.

If they ever got The Real Ghostbusters for streaming, I'd be all over that.
