I can attest that the first four books are worth a read. However, it's pretty dense stuff with a lot of plot threads going on simultaneously. I read the first four non stop and then had to wait for the fifth to come out - I bought it when it was released and still haven't read it because every time I try I'm somewhat lost having jumbled up or forgotten things that went on. And I find rereading the first four to be a rather daunting prospect.

1. "Cerebroid" springs to mind, though it lacks icy connotation.
2. I see "Moondrake" was suggested already. That was my first thought, though I'd expect it to be taken - probably by a Moondragon clone.
3. "Double Decker" comes to mind. I expect that one might be taken, though. "Not Neutered" was the second thought, but that's more of a joke. "Casino Clipper", "Cardinal Spin", "Trump Shot", "Eleventy-One" (or "One-Eleven")... -

Quote:Given the attached comic, I thought the implication was that the titular statement was one of those crazy notions that could be defeated with an argument that involved going down a waterslide. Basically, 'the title is a silly notion and while someone, somewhere is apparently patting themselves on the back for it, I'm having fun with Water Blast' seemed to me to be the message.Dug, upon what information are you basing this assertation that NCSoft is about to go bankrupt?
You'll excuse my disbelief.
I understood the joke and didn't find it funny. That's my experience with xkcd in general, though they do have the occasional smirkworthy gem. -
I was on a roll listing things off the top of my head. I didn't dare lose momentum of thought.
If I put deeper thought and/or some research into it I could probably come up with a whole lot more. The point being that it's a common theme. More common than capes. Possibly more common than alliteration. -
Such a movie has a better chance to be good without him desecrating the aesthetics of it, I'd say.

Same here. Even if I haven't been able to bring myself to play the character for quite some time, I'll be loath to delete it for the sake of concept alone.

Indeed. But one has to be willing to accept and adapt to the fact that things may not change, even if some day they might. Well, one doesn't *have* to, but the obstinate alternative can cast one in quite the petulant light.

I ignore it, and for the most part I try to avoid it because I really don't like losing access to my powers.

Quote:My hope is that it's getting looked at as part of proliferating it...Spines is what I REALLY care about, though. Bio Armour inspired me to make a new Spines Scrapper, and I was quickly reminded how shoddy the set's age-old design was. How lucky is it that mere weeks later I read about the set being improved? Sweet! I can't wait!

Quote:The OP seemed to me to indicate that they had all the relevant information and they weren't happy with it, and that only solutions that don't currently exist would be acceptable. In my experience with internet discussions, there aren't a lot of good places to go from that starting point. The best bet might be to throw one's hands up and walk away, but how often does that actually happen en masse?Give people the relevant information and then simply ask them to make a choice if this is a game they want to stick with.
As for giving them some part of the fun to entice them to pay for the whole: there inevitably has to be a line drawn somewhere, a point where the "fun" is cut-off, and not everyone will be happy with it. Give everyone a free inch, and some will want free yards, others will want free miles, and that one guy will insist he should get a parsec (and one weirdo will ask for free metres, but the Imperials will shout him down). When you explain that they have to pay for more than an inch and they complain about how unfair that is, well, we arrive back at the best bet being to throw one's hands up and walk away and how unlikely that is to occur on the internet. -
Don't be blinded by the super strength, flight, and invulnerability - Rogue's power is to *steal* powers. The only way to be more thematically attached to the name would be if her power was to backstab people.
I find it interesting that you went through X-Men related characters and left out - just off the top of my head - Beast, Iceman, Angel, Blob, Phoenix, Juggernaut, Leech, Multiple Man, Toad, Magneto, Pyro, Quicksilver, Storm, Marrow, Strong Guy, Dazzler, and Colossus.
Quote:It's why I don't have a good idea of how common the names are. Are they more common in this game? -
Quote:The class divide was always there, the division just used to be more complete. The serfs couldn't whine at the nobles about it much, if at all, and thus we never had to respond to it.When Freedom was still being discussed, one of my biggest fears of it was exactly this attitude - that it would create a "class divide" where some people would end up being told that they're not paying enough and so they're worthless and the game should never cater to them. It's not the reality of the situation so much as this attitude that I think is outright terminal for the game. Even at its peak of popularity, City of Heroes was a niche game with a limited audience. The LAST thing we want is to chase away legitimate players. Even if what they want for free will never be free, there are better ways to get that across than "If you're not paying, you're not worth the company's time."

Chance to heal or +Regen to self for each attack.

The latter annoys me as well, but given that the character was purposefully excluded from their own bubble effects when said effects were turned into targeted AoEs shows that it's clearly not a limitation that hinges on being able to target yourself.

I ended up going with Icthyrion.
I had Liquidator on Beta, but I knew that was going to be unavailable on Live. -
His name's Adric? He's not sporting a gold badge with a blue star on it, perchance?

Saw the title and thought we might be getting shark costume pieces. Another lame invasion is almost completely disappointing.

No power with Interrupt is "perfectly" usable. That's kind of what Interrupt does.
