They could go for the cliffhanger and end it *at* Gollum without actually showing him completely. Just the glint of eyes in the dark and perhaps a "*gollum*" or "preciousss" to tease.

The best content in the game? Character creation... it all goes downhill from there.

I don't look forward to any new items that are liable to bring with them more new forms of XP/currency/salvage. Particularly if said XP/currency/salvage is only going to be sparingly available from an exceedingly narrow source.

You know, there are a lot of interesting ideas here, and I'm certainly behind making Arachnos less prevalent, but for some reason all I can think now is: "Wait, there's a tunnel between Cap Au Diable and Port Oakes?!"

I think Peter Jackson might be crazy - colour me dubious (which is like octarine with a shade less 'sentient blue').
I mean, I rather liked the LotR trilogy overall (I have a few issues with it, but they don't make me dislike the whole). I think it's within the realm of possibility that he could split The Hobbit into three stories and do it well, but until that possibility materialises I'm going to have trouble envisioning it. -
"Dude, I totally pushed that tiny guy's head through your hand!"

Regeneration, with its delicious Instant Healing toggle.

Quote:Actually, in the form that seems most relevant to this particular matter, "TERA" is apparently an acronym for "The Exiled Realm of Arborea".Technically, "Aion" is not a real word. As such, how it's pronounced is really up in the air. To me, however, it's an intentional misspelling of the word "aeon," in much the same way as "Tera" is an apparent misspelling of the latin word "terra" (Because poor literacy is kewl!). As such, I pronounce "aion" the same way I pronounce "aeon."
So, about that pronunciation of "Talos Island..." -
Quote:There is no prior commitment. 'Limited Edition' or 'Collector's Edition' isn't an eternal promise of exclusivity. Even *actual* "limited" edition collectibles, with certificates and numbered runs occasionally get subsequent runs if they prove to be lucrative enough.Regardless of money, it's still an attitude of "gimme what I want". People are quick to say that I'm the entitled one and that I should practice what I preach, but they're the ones saying Paragon should change its position to meet their desire without regard that it puts Paragon in a position of having to dishonor and disrespect a prior commitment (with those that made such purchases). As previously stated, if Paragon wants to go forward with no more exclusive items, that's fine by me. I have no argument with that, but purchasers of collector's edition items have a reasonable expectation that those items will remain..."collectible"...in their limited quantity, regardless if it is intellectual or real world property.

It occurred to me today that the first actor that ever gave me a WTF moment was Doctor Who related.
When I was a kid I got hooked on Doctor Who on PBS (which led to me also enjoying Monty Python, Benny Hill, Danger Mouse, and various other BBC shows). I was an avid watcher as I saw the fourth Doctor's run for the first time. Right before Doctor Who there was another BBC show called All Creatures Great and Small - a boring show about country veterinarians chock full of largely bland characters. And as I was new to Doctor Who, well, I was doubly shocked at the end of Logopolis. The character I had come to really like was replaced by a milquetoast country veterinarian. I gave Peter Davison a chance, but he was possibly even more bland as the Doctor than he was as a veterinarian. -

Indeed. I may not always like or agree with what they do with the game, but it's definitely one of (if not THE) best MMO dev groups I've ever had experience with.

Not really (aside from a giant mech constructed of an army of (possibly naked) man clones tightly joined together, which I'd rather forget). After much manipulation of the magical google machine, I was able to come up with the name of the anime: Inukami!
Praise be to Google. -
Quote:I'd be more inclined to say that the trick would be to embrace and celebrate the stereotypical trappings while avoiding labels that may be deemed racist. The trick with packs like that would be avoiding any sort of stereotypes with it.
And I'd say that many of these sorts of items could probably be lumped under a title like: Pulp Adventurer Pack. -
Indeed. Enough with people who think they're entitled to retain exclusivity in order to maintain some imagined elite status. It's not an egregious loss of value - value naturally changes over time. It's not dishonest any more than it's dishonest to sell an item at a higher price for a limited time, and then later offer the item again in a more widespread fashion at a cheaper price (or perhaps even give it away). These sorts of things go on all of the time. No, such disingenuous complaints are really just thinly-veiled excuses to maintain some sort of special snowflake status, and to keep those filthy little have-nots in their place in order to do so.

I've been watching all the episodes of Poirot (David Suchet) lately, and I just caught an episode with a younger Christopher Eccleston playing an angry young man who was a murder suspect. It made me do a double take.
Quote:Wow, I've seen every episode of TNG (most of them several times) and I never caught on to that. Hilarious. There was a great inside joke on ST:TNG in the two-parter where they go back in time and meet Mark Twain. They decided that their cover story was that they (the bridge crew) were travelling actors who were going to put on "A Midsummer Night's Dream". When someone comes to the hotel room where they are, they quickly pass out scripts and pretend to be rehearsing a scene. Data, who played Puck in Gargoyles, starts reading lines for Puck in the scene. He does it in his "Puck voice" that he used in Gargoyles. I laughed like a madman at that, and so many friends didn't know why. :-)

I wouldn't mind if *any* exclusives I've acquired through various means over the years were made available to everyone.

I think he became the idol of various perverts in the show. I think there was something about frog statues.

Quote:Ah, yes, I can confirm that the guy with the ear compartment was from "Gantz!"...Part of what he's talking about is "eden of the east" (No memories, white house) the other part sounds 100% like its from "Gantz!"(Manga is so much better than the anime after like episode 12)
I watch a fair amount of anime on my own, and my memories of it may become hazy over time, but I have a better chance of remembering it if I sought it out myself. This jumble of memories is from a few episodes of various things I saw at a friends house a couple of years back. Some of which I ultimately did seek out myself (History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi!), and others that I probably never will and would be hard pressed to recall plot details much less a name (like that one with the guy who always ends up naked with a crudely drawn elephant head over his crotch). -
It might turn out faster, but I dislike it. Indeed, I'm not a fan of most TFs I've been on.
