Quote:That is a truly terrible yard-stick to go by.And it used to take 2 months to hit 50 now people do it in 2 hours. Point is they will probably reduce the requirements to create lower end incarnate powers.
Yes, some people. Emphasis on some, and more like '1% of people.' -
Actually;

Quote:... You made me agree with Golden Girl. The world is ending!!Or they could make one like the Tsso and old CoT ones, so that rather than being a part that covers our legs, it actaully repalces them, which would avoid clipping issues.
Seriously, though, someone took the Tsoo and CoT models and used demo-edit to make them high kick and stuff. It actually didn't look too bad. Certainly not as bad as some of the clipping that was deemed 'acceptable'... -
Well, yes, that's because it's hard to block in details and positioning without using lines initially
Sheesh!
-
I don't see why they can't make a split down the middle front and back of the 'robe', and simply have it attach to the thigh of the model. Given most people would use such a costume part for mage characters etc I don't see them doing that much high kicking.
And, even then, the stuff the Tsoo models and whatnot use don't actually look THAT bad when they do kicks and stuff. So....meh. I think stupid argument is stupid, but whatever. -

Uh....why not have both? Batman has the cave AND the Justice League, so....why not let people have personal 'lairs'/bases w/e and still be able to join SGs? Having it be one or the other sounds naff to me.
-
It would let them build a system from the ground up, to avoid the 'playing jenga on fire' mess that is the current base system....which is a good thing, right?
I'll /sign, every time. -
Quote:This, and Praetoria
The devs made Praetoria and made the game more challenging. The players immediately whined that they did not want it to be challenging.
The devs made Night Ward and made it more challenging. The players immediately whined that they did not want it to be challenging.
There are players who actually like a challenge and like Praetoria and Night Ward.
Then there are players who want it to be easy but with more rewards, so they say they want the difficulty increased, but they really just mean they want the rewards increased.
Enemies with too many attacks for their level range, exotic damage types, masses of debuffs and counter-mez capabilities at too low a level, large mob sizes and spammed ambushes is NOT a challenge. It's artificial difficulty (aka cheaty difficulty) that the player has no control over. Oh, and, like I said, is inconsistent with the rest of the game at the same level range. Ergo it's an anomaly, also ergo, you're wrong. -

Woh, woh, WOAH. Top Community Management...BIOWARE?! You have GOT to be having a Pancake JOKE, right? What management?!
Oh, and Notch definitely gets my vote for personality. Yahtzee is funny, but Notch is awesome on every level -
Quote:AgreedYou know how sometimes, depending on the book/writer/story, Batman can take down the entire rest of the Justice League single-handedly, but other times a single thug with a small-caliber handgun is a legitimate, credible threat to him?
You know how that's because the protagonist of any story is only as powerful as they need to be in order to make the story interesting, dramatic and exciting?
That. -
Quote:^ This sums it up perfectly.I'm in the "just make them attuned" field. There's no sense of growth with regular enhancements past SOs, and your enhancement stats are constantly bungeeing up and down as you level for no reason. This is made the most apparent with things like Endurance Modification/Reduction and Accuracy, because unlike damage or heals these never grow on their own.
It was a money sink and it was never a very good one. TOs to DOs to SOs at least provide a gear upgrade. But from 22 (when you an first buy and use them) to 47 (when you can use 50s) SOs never get better. So why are you replacing them?
And let's remember that not all players can use IOs even if they want to sit down and craft them over a longer single period of time (even if it takes less time overall). Having to either run the exact same mission over and over again (DFB and it's SO reward) or stop and reslot the same thing they slotted a day or two ago in the same power for the third of six total times are not appealing options.
If you have an hour a day to play a game, do you want to sit there for 15 minutes and craft/buy enhancements?
Heck, they could even set today's SOs as the base level, set them to scale WITH you as you level if needs be for balance (up to 22 and current SO base level) and add in more, non-IO multi-enhancements to have a sort of halfway house. Like those things that are really frigging under-sued now; Hami-Os. Why not include more 'Hybrid Enhancements' that functioned like Hami-Os as a middle price alternative, kill off the stupidly high cost of SOs and leave IOs where they are. Everyone wins? -
Quote:I think NPCs are due a pass. When they tweak the PC powers do they also tweak the NPC factions? I seem to be getting more powerful with each passing issue. I have not noticed that for the mobs. Not saying it's not happening, just not noticing.
Mostly to, hopefully at least, fix stupid, frustrating stuff like the 30 secons Stun spam of Malta minions, KoA all-minion 'trop spam, and other things that are basically 'false challenge'. -
Quote:No, no, you misunderstand me;That doesn't really address the suggestion, though, which is to add the two smaller Titans that make up the Zeus as enemies in the Malta Group. They'd literally be large silver Hercules Titans, and I'm just fine with that. Tag them as elite bosses and have them show up from time to time.
I'm pretty damn sure that the Kronos is meant to be a Titan all on it's own. As in, there IS no combiner stage.
However, instead of making a whole new model that was unique to the Kronos, it would be much easier to simply use the Zeus model, which is more imposing looking, scale it up and re-colour it.
As it is, there is nothing in lore to suggest Malta has any 'in-between' stage Titans. The reason the Kronos looks the way it does is highly likely to be purely for metagame reasons, i.e. it was cheaper/faster resources wise. -
I have to say, Zwil and Streak, major kudos for actually being willing to discuss with us. That means a lot. Once upon a time it was a case of
'And lo, the Devs spake, and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth, but the answer was only silence'
It's nice to not be so medieval about it all -
It's because re-colouring existing assets is quicker than making a whole new model. *shrug*

Quote:Sure. Equal or worse level SOs that nearly never match up to your origin.Sorry so have clarify what part of the Incarnates, I meant creating the powers for your slots =) But yes I see what you mean you at least get to fight, buying SOs you don't. But you can fight to collect them.
If dropped SOs, y'know, were the right level and Origin all the time, maybe I could USE the damn things, rather then 99% of the time having to buy them all at the store... -
Where's that like button gone?!
-
Oh, and apparently, on a slight tangent, the NC site hates anyone in the UK (rotating IP addresses) because I have to re-input my security questions Every. PANCAKE. TIME. I try to log into my Master Account. That got old the first time around, let alone the umpteen times after it....

Aid Other and Aid Self are perfectly usable right now by non-defence heavy characters.
You're clearly doing something wrong. -
Quote:It is the same, both are boring and un-fun. Also IO don't have to do with in game combat... It is lame I rather stock on DO. DO work just fine at least until level 19 when they turn red. You only need to do this every you only need to slot your hero 9 times starting at level 12, 19, 22, 27, 32, 37, 42, 47, 50. Yes I know I left out respec but that not used that offer. Maybe once or twice. So this isn't a big deal at all.
To clarify; Incarnate content, no matter how annoying grindy at times, is still content. You click powers, you smack bad people, you get rewards....That is gameplay. The actual construction and slotting of the Incarnate loot is Meta-Game stuff.
Slotting enhancements is ALL meta-game. You do not fight anything, you do not mission with it, you are doing something that needs doing to not SUCK in actual game content. Ergo, the two are not the same thing.
And the more you level, the more you have to slot, and the longer it takes to buy, go in, slot the slots, talk to the store guy again, buy more, slot them, dull and repetitive click and drag that has nothing to do with actual gameplay.
Savvy? -
