Quote:Bravo, sir, bravoTwo reasons:
1) Entitlement. Perspective is just a drawing and pictures thing that has nothing to do with anything else in life.
2) Located in New Jersey. Being in/from New Jersey means you are the the pinnacle of humanity and human potential. The various shows set in that state in the past decade alone should have made this obvious already. (i was born there, so i know from experience.)

Quote:Nice to see people on the forums being considerate and courteo-Just like last week, basically half the day wasted and the devs don't have enough common courtesy to let us really know what is going on. Instead they are giving away ridiculous costume pieces on the Beta server.
Nope. Couldn't keep a straight face. -
Biting back the sarcastic answer, I would hazard a guess that it's final checks and double checks to make sure whatever fixes they've made are solid. Otherwise people will probably be getting a distinct sense of deja vu in the same day.

Best bet's to keep an eye on the Announcements page. They seem to be pretty good at updating that with nay new intel.
Which also means no new intel, as of yet =P -
The feedback so far last I checked was "Something big broke. No, we have no idea when it'll be fixed. We'll let you know as soon as we do."
They clearly have nothing new to tell us?
Naaah, they just want to make people suffer -
Quote:Couldn't possibly have anything to do with the new systems and tech they've been getting ready in preparation for Freedom, naturally...It's also a fact that one of CoX's selling points up till recently was its relative reliability. As a result of the past month or so, that selling point is no longer valid. The 800-lb gorilla, with a server load two orders of magnitude greater, has had better overall uptime for the month of August.
That's not bugs, that's a complete non-effort by NCSoft staff.

Quote:Because it's the internet? Come on, Bill, we both know that common sense got banned here years agoMy pointing that out once is not hurting you either, and yet you feel the need to start insulting me and calling me a "dev apologist."
So you needed to post why? -
Quote:I'm pretty sure you have no idea wht the phrase Common Sense means.
Posting a complaint about the game servers being down all day is valid. Your posts are nothing more than attempts to belittle others for offering their feedback for the downtime.
You are more of a problem than anyone else. Shut up and allow others to cry and moan, and it will end before you know it.
You have a sad life if reading a thread on the internet makes your day.
And nope, it's the evening. It's an amusing way to wind down, watching other people make prats of themselves -
Man, threads like this make my dayI love how people can disagree with someone on the internet, and suddenly they know everything about a complete stranger they've never met before (mostly because they live the other side of the Pond) and are making judgemental comments about them.
Ah, humanity. Never change, you're too amusing. -

Quote:"It's broken. To the point of being broken. If we knew, it would be working."The problem is not that the servers are down, it's that they won't tell us exactly what's going on.
It's this kind of crap that makes me glad I waited until close to free-time before paying. I couldn't imagine having to deal with being in the dark like this for 6 years.
I would wager that's about as close to any 'exactly what happened' post you'd get. Do you honestly think you'd understand if they told you exactly what was wrong? If so, you're smarter than I am... -
Quote:Wow, i wish that i could be as relentless in defence of the people in charge as you are. You're wonderful.Quote:Your comment draws no surprise that you come off as yet another self-righteous, self-absorbed techie? It's simply a matter of people venting their frustrations with this game and it's "many" prolonged down-times. Your need to respond in such a vindictive and denigrating way clearly shows you have no character. Hopefully you reside in one of the less-popluated servers.
Seriously, though, I find it hilarious how people rant and whine about stuff like this. If you ever bothered to check, you'd find that I can be a very vocal critic of the Devs on a number of topics. I also realise that my technical knowledge is pretty minimal, and I can't even being to imagine how complex the server farms they run are.
This is nothing to do with 'being a suckup' or 'brown-nosing the Devs'. I will honestly laugh at anyone who would ever call me a 'Dev fanboi'. This is a matter of the servers are down. They will be back up when they are fixed. I know I sure as hell don't have even a fraction of the skill needed to do anything to do with servers, and I bet the vast majority of whiners here don't either.
It's common sense. But, hey;
-
Oh god, those screenshots...
WANT. NOW. Especially that Barabarian chest-shoulder-belt thing. Love it.
..."This is Halloween, this is Halloween, pumpkins scream in the dead of night..." -
Yes, because the Devs can honestly peer into the future and minutely schedule every downtime to suit every single customer b-
No, wait. IF they could do that, they wouldn't be running a game, they'd be running the whole damn world. Jesus H pogo-sticking Christ, people, get some damn perspective.
Much though you might like to think it, the globe does not centre nor revolve around your little lives and daily gripings, your overgrown sense of entitlement will not magically get the Devs to grovel in the dirt at your feet for clearly being so wrong all the time, and all it will do is reinforce the image that every other person on the internet is an absolute nit with the patience of a ADHD squirrel drugged up on speed and caffeine.

Quote:I'll cry and whine how I see fit, thank you very little.
I'm home early for once and thought I could sneak in some pew pew pew and SMASH! But, noooooooooooooooooooooo.
/criesdoomQuote:I wonder if they'll extend our PAID FOR account by a day, being as we havent been able to play a game that we have PAID for. This is hapening more and more often now
Because tears taste like win -
I just typed 'military backpacks' into Google and picked the first one with a human attached. Seems the Devs simply did their research, unlike someone
-
Sorry, still all out of facepalm this week. I'll get back t'ya.
Also; No to server mergers. This has been covered, many times before. Misconception =/=Fact -
Quote:That backpack looks like too mich weight is on the lower back. No doubt this Sup person is family with a chiropractor and will be recieving lots of kickback after this backpack goes live.
The Military say you fail, son.
In other news;

For all those crying doom; strewth, heaven forbid stuff EVER go wrong. I mean, it's not like we've had years and years of near perfect running with only the odd hiccup-
Owait. Perspective, people. Get some.
