  1. All 2511.1MB of it.

    Best start now
  2. Patch is downloading now, by the way. Worth doing, it's 2511 MB

    Five HOURS?

    Just...what? I don't even
  4. Will be having a shower, doing laundry, possibly some art work, and if nothing else then it'll be messing around being awesome on Oblivion

As someone who still doesn't even know HOW to power level in CoH, outside of tagging with friends crushing RWZ repeatables, I can atest to never ever having the cash for SO slotting at level 22 just on one character with no support.

Good to know. I, for one, would be happy to just pay for the damn stuff straight up, day one.

And refunds? Yeah right. The only refund I've ever gotten for an MMO subscription was from a game that got permanently shut down, and even that took a lot of work. It's a pipe dream to think anyone will get their $140 back because of this, sad as that may be.
Yes, because aiming for something to happen and then having the tech team say its not working right is them lying to us...

    Wait, no it's not.
Seriously, people, I'm as frustrated as the next person here, but get some Reality goggles, will you?

This is real money stuff here, not virtual currencies, and anything dealing with subscribers' wallets should be treated cautiously. I hope anyone that changed their sub to get those tokens can still change back, or get refunded.

This is me as well. I'll stick with my current subscription.
You missed the part where they said thats how they intended and WANTED it to work, before Technical Problems shot it down.

They still intend to make it happen...it just won't be ready when Freedom launches. Yes, it still blows, but it's not a NemesisDev Plot.

IDF does not have semi-Medieval armour
IDF also does not have the ONLY (extra emphasis on ONLY) Energy Wings piece in the entire game.

    Just saying

Will hopefully have been fixed, if not that sounds like a Support issue t'me
  13. Tempted to do some fiction for Vix (Vanguard and general medical), and possibly a con-glom of other characters reactions. Might be fun *ponder*

    Agreed. VERY agreed.
  15. I know my Heroes would respect the law, or decide of their own accord it was too dangerous.

Villains would either see nothing standing and thus nothing worth looting, or couldn't give a damn.

Still, I expect there will be some people 'awesome' enough to get inside and do their own thing...

Hell, I'd just be happy if they put the full Celestial kit into one pack that could be bought for points. Make it a limited offer...or not?

I honestly do not approve of such cool kit being limited solely by time. I'm a Veteran, sure...but I'd like *everyone* to have a shot at the cool equipment. This is City of Heroes and Villains, not WoW; looking good and having great characters is what we are best at and should *remain* best at.

It's not like it gives +1 to Spider Poking or anything.

What happened to VIP number 1 priority?

You know I was really really excited for Freedom but honestly everything I've been reading and everything you guys have been saying and everything I've seen first hand it's leaving an awfully sour taste in my mouth. This is from someone who plays multiple free to play, sub hybrid games and thinks they are the next gen for online gaming.
The Devs wanted and still want to give us Reward Points up front.

Unfortunately the technical side of that system seems to be playing host to the spirit of a departed Villain, and doesn't want to play nice.

£82-£91 then. I can't really afford that much in one lump sum, certainly not for points rather than game-time.

Edit: Just to add, this is not annoyance at the Reward-rate/system itself. This is a dislike of *specifically* the Celestial stuff being gated in such a way, a way that I have not approved of since the day it was announced. Especially not for a set that has unique stuff like energy wings in, which players have been begging for for YEARS.

Also; nothing aimed at Zwill. He's cool, yo

Silver lining: The costume parts will be available for a decent amount of time before they rotate out. We will be certain to give heads up before we rotate Tier 9 VIP Rewards out for new ones so that players have the opportunity to make any appropriate purchases to reach tier 9, if they so choose to.

    -Z
I understand that technical problems are just that, and often pretty horrible.

That said, I still find the teams decisions to say 'Hey, we made energy wings!'...and THEN lock them away behind a distant VIP only Veterans rewards (a choice, might I add, that was said would never happen, as the team *supposedly* didn't want to put meaningful stuff behind hard to achieve Vet rewards. The ONLY set of energy wings in the game might not be meaningful to a Min/maxer, but it's damn meaningful to those who care more about characters and costumes) to be somewhat...well..bad, frankly.

I'll have to see how much it'll take/cost to get me to the VIP tier 9.
Question; Do you have to ALSO get the Tier 9 rewards BEFORE the VIP tier 9, or are they all part of the same tier? The stacking of them confused me.
  20. I'm at the end/near end of tier 7.
So, that's an entire tier and then 3 more for all the Celestial stuff. I don't know how much that would work out to...

Fingers crossed it won't be too much. Because I'll be damned if I let that shiny armour get away from me

Right. So, there goes any reasonable hope in hell I have of getting the three Celestial rewards before they 'rotate' out.

I get that there are technical problems. Nothing can be done about that, and I'm not stupid/immature enough to rant about stuff that is out of the Devs hands.

    HOWEVER;

Celestial being locked away behind Tier 9 AND a time limit is just...well, the words I would pick would be censored anyway.

So, we can be about 99.9% sure those parts won't be available on the Market. Why?
I've seen them trumpeted about and even commented on in the Art threads (sorry David) as 'Hey, we do have energy wings!' 'Hey, we do have some cool looking glowy/medieval armour!'
All I have to do is buy the pack-
    Owait.

How's about I get to CHOOSE (the whole damn tagline of Freedom) that stuff? Heck, I'll even give back the damn Greek letters I never, ever use or the Prestige Sprints which I've never claimed after the one time I did and realised what a total bloody mess it made of my mains powers window/enhancement window.

I was gonna be willing to pay for that stuff, and now I can't even have the humorous 'Shut up and take my damn money' image. Because I can't get that stuff. It's even worse than the damn 'Oh, you can't have that until 50, because it would be a disservice to the art team' Ascension armour and it's stupid merits costs, because that's just time and boredom gated. It won't go POOF! in some arbitrary length of time, like the Celestial stuff will!

Feh...that DID end up a rant. Oh well.
Colour me very damn annoyed. Not a feeling one usually associates with not-giving other people money...

(At least Freedom will roll in tomorrow, and hey, discount on Beam Rifle. I love Beam Rifle. Like, *love* Beam Rifle.)

I've always been a fan of these ideas, myself. As long as the player has to re-earn everything that makes the character strong, then I have no problem with people keeping their badges, titles, SG standing and whatnot. The one caveat I make, however, is accolade badges. If you do this, you have to either lose ALL accolade prerequisite badges, or have them renamed and the originals taken away. Point is, if you want to reroll but keep your badges, you'd still lose your accolades. Nothing functional can cross over with you. Only cosmetics and no-effect collectables.
Why? Accolades either work at level 1, or they don't. There are a number that don't activate till level 21, 40, and anything in between. Any Hero can have the Atlas medallion without leaving level 1 if they so wish, they just need help running the missions. It still WORKS at level 1.

    Just saying.
