  1. Given some of the models for things like War Mace, let alone Titan Weapons, this suggestion gets a big ol' /SIGNED from me. Make it so.

    Retool the Nukes

I think, as is, the only nuke that retains it's worthwhile status out of the crashing nukes is Inferno, and that's simply because Fire/anything with Build Up chucks out so much damage that even Bosses are left wondering if anyone got the registration of that steamroller.

Any changes to Nukes would be welcome, provided they are on the lines of crashless and not being turned into pansy moves. They should be powers people WANT to take.
Same boat with snipes, they need to make them much more useable than they currently are.

The difference in texture/model detail is pretty noticeable, don't you think? Am I to believe that the detail exhibited by the WoW version would somehow feel out of place in CoX? I'm not sure I would agree, and I say that as someone who loves everything that makes (or can make) a superhero MMO look and feel like its source material. But maintaining low model or texture detail doesn't strike me as a laudible means to that end. As Sam said, it's not photorealism that's the goal, but surely the same kind of graphical improvements seen in more recent costume pieces could be applied, to good results, to the rest of the core model bits. The argument that hands and feet which look like bricks better embody the comic book aesthetic just doesn't ring true for me.
    The funny thing is, people keep ignoring the greatest examples of that right here in our own game;

    Mirror Spirit and Foreshadow

Now, those aren't the highest quality pictures (from the wiki they be) but in-game those models are really damn nice.

So...why is THAT not the bar for all the PC pieces? Yes, it'd be a metric poop-ton of work, but wouldn't it be worth it? Even with our ageing engine, we CAN have shiny pieces that look really nice.
Just not the Victorian faces. Those are ugly and smack bang in the middle of uncanny valley. But we CAN have awesome pieces. So...why not?

I mean, humanity as gods? That spells BAD in big letters to me...

    False.

The Dev's have previously debunked the whole 'Ask and you shall never get' myth about Bug Hunter.
They're just never going to tell anyone how to get it. It's a case-by-case thing.

Blasters lose the Manipulation aspect and gain Defense Secondaries. While they're ST is good, they become more about taking out mass smaller enemies. Less ST DPS than a Scrapper, but AOEness of yumminess.

Defenders/Corr's become one! I'd likely go with the idea that Blasts are secondary, but they now have Scourge.

And other changes like this, to basically consolodate the ATs.
Off-topic slightly, but just wanted to point out how much I hate that idea. It just...no. Just no, really. Especially the merging Tanks and Brutes. When I want to Tank, I Tank. When I want to Broot, I Brute. Mixing the two would just be horrible.

And yeah, she's basically Powers Trainer and 'Lookit me, I'm granddaughter to the freaking Emperor, whatcha going to do?'

    Agreed. But an easy fix for that is 'simply' (it'd still be quite a bit of work, but less so than an engine overhaul) would be to;
-Re-render everything with HD textures rather than the current SD ones
-Smooth off the character model to eliminate the 'square neck' syndrome we have at the moment.
-Go over and take out those horrible 'divider lines' on joints, like neck, elbows, etc.

Bruce usually gets to Zsasz around murder 4-5 anyway (at least until the Arkham games). It's painful.
Yeah, but that's ignoring the fact that, if he bumps off Zsasz 'for the greater good', what's to stop him killing Joker? He's at least twice as bad. And then Scarecrow, Riddler, Penguin, Bane (that'd be tough) all the others...
But then what about anyone else 'evil'? Who would define evil?

That's the point. Once you cross the line, it's only a downward spiral.

I'll be the first to priase the efforts of our Devs for all the hard work they've done over the years to push the limits of what this game can do graphically. But sooner or later we'll have to accept that this game will never be able to last forever in its current form. At some point the amount of updating it'll require to stay competitive with newer games will become so massive that really the only reasonable alternative will be starting over with something like a CoH 2.0.

The complaint that "our humans are ugly" is starting to approach that tipping point where as Aura_Familia said the only way to adequately "solve" that problem will be to wait for the next game to be made.
That still doesn't explain why SOME of the feet and hands we have (for instance) look good, and some look like mittens and giant club-feet.
Not to mention the faces and hair. Dear god...the original line up didn't just get hit, they got run the hell over by the Ugly train...

In a real life scenario, some rogue agent pointing nukes at us and making threats the way Blitz did would likely get attacked by the US military and neutralized. Double if he was making threats. Off the chart if he murdered the ambassador.

The underlying story, however, does not even make much sense. Alexis was "dead 20 minutes before" our characters arrive to make the rescue attempt. And then Malaise surrenders. In order to get, what, close enough to Sister Psyche to activate the latent Aurora Borealis? This in a world where the Clockwork King can animate thousands of individual minions from Far Far Away? Close proximity does not seem to ever be needed for this psychic stuff.

At the moment, the underlying story seems very arbitrary. It makes it tough for me to accept the "sovereign nation" and "Blitz is a rogue" cards being played. Of course, I am not too happy that my hero gets to stand around unable to take action while all the murders and such take place, which does not help matters in the enjoyment area.
Yeah, because 'Hey, we're invading to sort out the head-case!' is a sure fire way to...uh...get the head-case to unload all those missiles on everyone, not just Paragon. Because hey, he's a fruit loop!

And yeah, Clockwork King being probably third most powerful psyker in the world (1st Penny, 2nd Psyche, 3rd Kingy) probably helps. Although I do feel the Clockwork got left with a rather large gap in their explanation (why lightning bolts etc?)

As if Longbow's is any better? Probably because no one wants to antagonise the homicidal, hideously scarred maniac that is Blitz. Who would probably try and nuke both Paragon AND the Isles into dust given about a micromillimeter of an excuse.
  16. If I had a quid for every time I've thought that?
I could retire. Right now. Happily.

And bloody hell do I wish they'd fix the basic model. But will they?
    Uh....oh look, a new shiny!!

  18. I think I prefer Scrappers steady damage with Crits to Brutes up-down variable. It works for some concepts, but not others. I tend to approach it on a per-character basis anyway.

And I love Titan Weapons. Titan Weapons is WIN.

By virtue of your choice to be one you've sworn to protect the people first and foremost. Grieving comes later if there's a crisis on the line, whether you want it to work that way or not.
That's all fine and dandy for, what, the first few years of having super powers? Powers he got while trying to find a cure for being mustard gassed, remember.
And then you probably get a little jaded as all the years go by. And then you probably just get damn sick of people expecting you to 'man up' and 'take one for the team' and all that. If everyone's relying on you, ALL the time...who do you rely on? When do you get a break?

Asking that of anyone all the time, 24/7 every week, every month, every year? And you thin HE is a jerk? It's called 'being human'. States is still Marcus Cole under the spandex, and he's an old, probably pretty jaded human being at the core. Humans aren't flawless. Period.

Last time I checked, Posi and the current teams way decisions never consisted of their 'vision' of the game, or 'My way or the highway' like Emmert did.

When we don't like stuff these days, the Devs listen and take feedback and make stuff even more awesome. Jack just laughed and told you to go take a hike, 'cos HE was the boss. lolplayerbase et al.

If that's honestly the case? You're doing something wrong. Like, WELL wrong.

Brutes are good. Tanks are also good. So are Scrappers. I love all the damage ATs, personally.
  22. I honestly don't get the hate for States. If it was aimed at Jack 'Statesman' Emmert, then sure. Guy was an idiot from the sounds of it.

But States himself? Eh, sure he's old fashioned and quite black/white cut-glass...but he's lived a long time. Life does that to you when you're old and you've seen as many people as he's probably seen die.

^ This. We do NOT need any more shenanigans in the same vein as Dr 'It all makes so much sense!' Brainstorm and his [i]hilarious[/i[...-ly bad 'reasoning' behind Power Proliferation.
