  1. All really good advice, and even a few tips for a 21 monther like myself who learned RP the hard way =P I need to remember some of those tips whne playing my Bane Sergeant, who's american.

    In an off topic point, how come Britain seemed to get duffed over in the CoX timeline? =P

    Kitsune Vixen - Happy go lucky teenager who doubles as a medic and doctor when shes not at PD or Uni
    Otokami - Demonised Samurai warrior who made a deal with MAGI to earn his redemption.
    Lance Knight - Clockwork warrior gone rogue, now fights for the city he was meant to destroy.

  3. Ye gods, I got up to page 8 and gre sick and tired of the whining.

    Point, the first (1). In the words of Agent J; "Move yo bum [censored]", and move it from Defiant to Union, if you want more crowds. Defiant, for England, is like a second test server, afaik. And you CAN transfer toons, all vet awards included, from Defiant to Union.

    Point, the second (2). Maybe stop posting on a thread so long dead that I could play a tune on its ribs with some sheet music and some sticks....please :P Its silly.

  4. Krimzon stood atop one of the towers of Fort Darwin, looking out over Mercy Island. He would never admit it, except to a very select few, but he felt there was something special about this place. A sort of cradle, if you will, for greater things.

    It certainly made people tough, he noted approvingly, as he watched yet another mob approach the Fort walls, placards in hand. He sighed softly as the Arbiters on the wall raised their guns at the ready.

    "Orders, Sah?"
    Krimzon turned to the soldier in Bane Spider armour stood next to him. Operative Doc, Sergeant at Arms and one of the best Drill Sergeants Krimzon had ever met; a good man to have on hand.
    "Keep an eye out for potential, sergeant," the Commander ordered, "I don't want any stupid trash, I want the good ones. The best troops, his Lordship said. And thats what we're going to get. The ones that want to aspire to something. Lets get going."
    "Yessir."
  5. ((So long as its vaguely smart, it should be ok, afaik. Just so we dont get people turning up in shredded jeans and covered in blood =P A suit is good, but uniform jackets, posh clothes or the like should be fine.

    SG Sub-divisions

    One thing Ive noticed a lot with SG's on both sides is the use of some sort of division system, wether its a regiment, religious order, gang or a company. Im talking about stuff other than hte standard ranks. For example, the group im part of has a number of departments; Technical, PR, Operations, Securty, Magic, etc.

    I was just thinking, a way to actually show this on the SG board would be really nifty. Maybe some sort of drag and drop thing for the Leaders? Or seperate 'promotion' buttons that could be named after whatever people wanted and then used for asignment?

    Just an idea =P
  7. ((Hmm, given Alpha is going to have Omega with him, I dont see why not. Besides, having teamed IC I think I can vouch for him. Although if he does get stroppy then Omega may have to take him outside =P ))

    Hmm...Its a shame they dont open a Monkey Bar in Mercy or Oakes, because that would probably work.

    One idea I just had was maybe use Oakes Arena/Roof as a sort of stomping ground. Let Villains meet up to cut deals/size up the oposition/settle differences.
    Just one idea. But I guess the question is do people really want to start dedicated place like GG or not. If not, then theres not much point. If yes, then we should get something organised.

    Uhm...there are about five or so, mostly RP groups. The KG is mine, and newly started =P The others, aside from the Dusks, I really dont have much clue about.
  10. I was trying for a full Wolf Spider build as well, and ended up making him a medic. The real problems I found are;
    1. Pure Wolfs are WAY too squishy if they solo
    2. Medicine means you have to team. No team, your doomed.
    3. You miss out on all the cool stuff! =P

    That noted, I then went on to make a Bane Medic on mids. He was consideralby tougher and all, but the problem again was the interuptable healing powers.
    In the end, I got him to lvl 24...and gave in to the pure massacring goodness of a fullblood Bane =P
    With Arachnos, the best defence is a murderous offence. Anyone who has played on a team of 6 or 7 Crabs and/or Widows knows the horrendous ammount of damage they can bring to bear.

    One cool idea would be to take the Bane path with no medicine and such, and make the character look like a TacOps, seeing as they have Maces too.

    2nd Uniform

    The lack of the Widow 'butt-cape' or coat thing is a real shame, as the lack of being able to have a Soldier without a helmet. At least one other Uniform slot would be a really nice addition, as would Soldiers without helmets.

    And, on a side note, the Spider that Banes get for their backpack is bugged. It seems to work on some characters, on others it doesnt. (It worked on my soldier who ended up getting the Crab path, but my Bane spider cant get it -fumes- )

    So, hang on, having finally got onto the official Forums (only too me 21 months >.&gt whats the current status of the Red-side RP? Just when and where are all im asking, so I can dally on down sometime. I got the Chum island location, but asides from that I got a bit lost in the sea of posts =P
  13. People started noticing them one morning. Posters, somehow different to the normal Arachnos Propaganda that tended to litter the Isles. These looked less intimidating, and more military...more inviting. No one could really pin down how.

    Mainly pinned around the Arachnos Forts, but also scattered around the Islands of Mercy, Oakes and Diable, the bold red of the Title piece tended to catch the eye;

    The picture shows a Crab Spider soldier in red and black armour, standing between a cowering family and a group of large Snakes, with a backdrop of what looks like Mercy Island. Looking closely, this is one of the reasons the poster looks different. The photograph is real, not a staged one. Theres too many subtle clues; the Crabs scratched and dented armour, the ferals snarls of the snakes, the faces on tha family that are hurrying back into the tin-shack house.

  16. I agree with the 'adding more variety' to the MM sets, and, although snakes sounds cool, I dont think that would get through.
    Some sort of monster (actual monsters, not normal enemies) control would be quite interesting, although, as one of my SG pointed out, having something attacking a Council Robot or suchlike with fangs and claws would probably prove problamatic.

    Something a bit more extra-dimensional would be quite cool, maybe demons/angels or possibly alien creatures of some sort...And for some reason the thought 'Nictus control' pops up. But thats a bit far fetched.
    Just my 2 inf worth.
  17. ((If ya aint got the lvl 10 costume slot Jackal, presuming your playing a VEAT, then you most likely wont get in. It does say no except Arachnos at the top :P IC, we've had a really bad spell with Arachnos lately.(I am part of the Corporation, fyi) ))
  18. Arachnos has that in its backstory. It can weedle, bribe or smash its way out of most situations. Seeing as the Heroes and Villains sepnd most of the time fighting either the Rikti or deadlocked with each other, its not too surprising that Arachnos is still there. Even with the infighting, you can bet that they'd unite against something like an invasion, and terminate with extreme prejudice :P
  19. The Handbook has most of my characters on there, except for the ones that haven't had a suitable RP run in yet. Its a fantastic bit of kit, and im damn glad its there! Cheers to Pious, Zortel and everyone! =]

    The Krimzon Guard, or KG as it is sometimes known, is a recently formed Regiment within Arachnos, under the command of hte Krimzon Commander, an upcoming Lieutenant Commander in the Crab Spiders. The Krimzon Guard had a previous incarnation, under the Council, where it worked in Russia and then the US, so there may be some who remember the name. The new KG is different in one distinct way from other Arachnos regiments; The Commander will have nothing to do with bribery or corruption, and sees it as the duty of him and his troops to Protect and Serve the citizens of the Rogue Isles. This will be achieved by pushing back the so called 'super humans' that cannot co-exist with humanity, and the vigilantes such as Longbow and Wyvern.

    Admission Notes/Requirements: Potential Operatives must be soldiers or else useful in someway to a military unit. Potentials will have to have a one to one interview with the Commander. He also has no patience with lax discipline or those who have no regard for humanity. (I want to keep the Guard on a specific path, so no 'take over the world' types, as that doesnt fit.)
