Sound. I like it =] Having stuff that is more sort of 'SG specific' would be a very nice idea. As an example, a scene of an Arachnos squad in my KG base, or a big statue of a Founder in another group. Possibly use something like the statues in Atlas or something, which are basically scaled up Hero rigs/figures.

(One note, which game is WAR? and whats RvR, because that deosnt ring any bells...oh, and Base Radis would indeed be cool, I have to admit =P )
[/ QUOTE ]
WAR is Warhammer: Age of Reckoning also known as Warhammer online. RvR is Realm vs Realm. Its kind of like PvP but on a grander scale. Once you join a server you either can allign yourself to order/destruction. The idea is that you are literally at war with the other side, so not only are you playing missions but you are also battling in to gain control over your part of the land. You can gain keeps etc and eventually raid capital cities etc.
The closest thing I think we have to it in CoX is in one of the Hero vs Villain PvP zone recluses victory. Where you fight for control of a potential future for Primal Earth. This future is determined by the capture and control of various Temporal Anchors, each defended by a Pillbox.
However in WAR entire maps areas of maps are flagged for RvR combat
[/ QUOTE ]
I had a feeling it might be Age of Reckoning (even if I forgot the title at the time XD)
The only problem I can see with that is people screaming 'Oh M Gee, WoW Clone lolz h4x !!!1111'
Which, imo, it wont be. Reason being its made my Gameworkshop, or at least is overseen by GW or people who are mad into it. And GW has a damn good background in all its games. That, and little stupid kiddies that go around annoying people probably wont get it, and people who think GW stuff is sad wont get it...meaning that the community will be very close knit (in backgroun at least) and therefore (probably) a verry good one. That, and its Warhammer :P Chaos, anyone?
RvR sounds cool. Hmm...Longbow and Arachnos, like in Sirens Call....but bigger. And with Supers in army sizes....-world conquest plans loom- -
Fingers crossed then =] Its just wierd how it only seems to be some characters.
-
One reason that WoW may lag less than CoX is the fact that all the charactes use EXACTLY the same looks for all the characters, whereas CoX has a huge ammount more detail to deal with.
Either that, or your computers borked, just like my old one was-kicks the old scrappile and hugs his laptop-
Anyway, as Ninja said, one is unlikely, the other is uneeded. The rednames and thus NC have said the same, griping about it will make precisely 0 ammount of difference. -

I am not specifically asking for it to the US servers hence why that was in brackets. Also the sever transfer system is already in place, it just needs some tweaking to have a 2 hour shift.
As pointed out by someone else this would make for PvP tournements easier.
Your point about not going to the shadow shards is exactly why I chose them as the reason for giving this accolade. They are in another dimension and so seems fitting in that completing another dimensions TFs you should be able to master Dimension Jumping. They are not done frequently and would encourage use of a beautiful zone and underused content.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well then, surely if the Devs want people to use the Shard, or if people ask for PvP tournaments to be made easier, then it would be time much better spent implementing;
A) Perhaps a Tournamant server, although someone mentioned they use the Test one at present, which sounds fine, and thus does not need 'fixing'.
B) Do what they did with the RWZ and Hollows, giving them a re-vamp and making them easier to get to. Given the responses on the thread so far, approximately naff all people would be interested in such a power for going through that ammount of TFs. -
Apparently it is already known that this is bugged, but the spider back detail for SoAs doesnt always show up. It worked fine on one of my characters, who ended up as a Crab Spider anyway, then on my second SoA the back detail refused to show up, although the caped version still showed the cape, albiet suspended in midair.
Noted? -
Actually, I have noticed this from time to time. It seems kinda rare, but occasionally I've seen Longbow shooting each other in missions, there was one time an end mob looked to have shot itself up, boss included, and, more frequently, the Arachnos on the GW mission of Seer Marionios arc (although that one I think is scripted)
-
Hmm, true...
But no one else get to turn into big, meta-dimensional uber beasties like Kheldians do
Dwarf SMASH! XD -
I was lucky that my brother, comic-head that he is, gave CoX a go, back when he was able. He, very kindly, given what I was like back then
let me have a go with the character builder, and then said 'oh well, off you go'.
Dear god, I was hooked. It took me a while to get to the game properly, as I had a bit of a battle with the old mater 'n' pater about the internet and paying for it business =P but it was worth it.
Rp-wise I was lucky to fall in with the Corporation on Villains, which I got a bit after Heroes. They firmly dealt with my god-moding ways and turned me from the 'Tool to be' into the real Techbot Alpha =D which was much more fun at any rate.
EVE...sounded epic. I tried it. It was...huge. Too huge, really. Although it was beautiful and the concept was impressive and its aims were astronomical...it was indeed one of those higher end 'Addict' level MMOs...and I didnt have the time or brainpower for that.
CoX, on the other hand, is fantastic. You can tailor characters to fit nearly any storyline you come up with, the RP community tends to be fantastic, the levelling and teaming is generally ace...
I mean, a perfect example of why CoX rocks. I logged back onto my new Controller (I've always had a problem with them...) in the sewers, after the last run. I was about halfway between Kings Row and Atlas, and was given on the fact, t'hell, im going to have to die. Ran into the first mob, was managing...except for the two damn Eidolon bosses.
And then, just as it was all aboard the deathtrain...BAM! The Vahzilock mob gets obliterated.
A sewer running group had come round the corner and saved the day in absolutely comicbook gold styleIf that had been WoW or anything else, they would have gone 'LoL!11 n00b roflcopter' and let me die, then steal all the [censored], most likely. But no, the Heroes not only pounded the opposition into the dirt, but they let me tag along to kings, harvesting a few more levels along the way =]
Now tell me that any game can match that, in any way, eh?
(One note, which game is WAR? and whats RvR, because that deosnt ring any bells...oh, and Base Radis would indeed be cool, I have to admit =P ) -
This does just seem to be more about, as far as I can make out, your obsession with being able to go to the US servers. Correct me if im wrong on that point.
Secondly, I reallt dont see any such point in the power. I havent actually been to the Shadow Shard, except once for a short while. If the TFs are as hard as people say, and you suggest adding another one in Pocket D, I know that I would want one almighty good power to use. Something like the controller power that renders an enemy unable to react in anyway, and you usually cant do anything to them either. Except a power that means you can attack them. And it works on Bosses and even EBs.
Not just a two hour jaunt to the US. Given the ammount of work the Devs are putting into some quite important game updates, AND fixing the bugs that still plague us, I seriously have high doubts that any such idea would be implemented, if even considered. But I dont know how hard these things are.
I just keep hearing, often from the Mods (Who WORK for NC, btw, so they should know) that such things are really difficult/impossible/not going to happen/all of the above

Well said, well quoted, well done. -
Hmm, a cool sounding idea, I agree. Again, as with most cool sounding stuff, it depends how much hassle that places on the devs.
-
This is the point. The game is meant to be for the majority. Thats all EU players. Yes, some things sound nice, granted, but repeatedly pushing for something that would cause so much hassle and disruption is not going to work.

This is pretty much the principal im sticking to. Improvement is good, obviously, but only if it can be impleted well and quickly.
Also, Im sorry if I seem offensive at times, but I sometimes think things 'sound' stupid when there typed, as you cant hear the actual tone of voice. The threads title does strike me as nothing more than slighty egotistical, also. -

Uh-huh....riiiight. And the fact that this forum is in fact AIMED to please and help the majority figures in how?

Next, adult only boards. I dont have the figures, so this is based on personal experience, but I believe there should be an adult board, where some of the forum rules are a little more relaxed. For example, users can have adult conversations, discuss politics, relationships, love life, jobs etc. Let the forum become a place where people can turn to for help and advice. We have a lot of users, and therefore a lot of life experience. We can learn from each other, and help each other when there is no one else to turn to.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh dear god, NO.

I agree totally. This is jsut plain daft. Both you and Taurus have every right to your opinions and your ideas, and you are more than welcome to express them.
But it is you who are the forcing ones here, or at least you would be if you werent being resisted as hard as Gordon Brown from developing any common sense (dodges the incoming barrage from that comment - its an opinion, deal with it :P )
Your ideas and opinions are just that. They are not canon. People, time and again from the looks of it, have come back to those ideas and said 'No thank you, we dont think it will work.' Again, again again and again, you come back and say, essentially, 'We think these ideas are good and thus we shall pester the hell out of people until we get our way so there, theres nothing you can do about it [Insert chosen excuse, freedom of speech etc. here]'.
Just grow the hell up and know when you can't have your own way. Everyone had to learn sometime. And I only just got on the forums, so you cant accuse me of lurking. Also, I look on them either before or after I log into the game for playing and enjoying.
You dont have to deal with it if you dont want to. But, hey, freedom of speech, and thus freedom of flak. -
The reason I almost look forward to this thread is some of the absolutely HILARIOUS things we get here XD Bowie in Labyrinth and cookies/horses/hair -collapses from a busted rib- Ohdearohdearohdear XD
Anyway, if you really want to discuss the topic;
Get over the fact its not happening anytime soon, and either play and enjoy the game as it is or shut up and give the rest of us some peace, before the mods decide enoughs enough and ban you both. This Taurus-Jade allience is facing the flak of, from the looks of it, every other user that has posted here.
And please, dont insult anyones intelligence by dragging out any of the excuses you've used so far. Its not worth it.
/Unisgned -
Hmm...maybe I should migrate to Defiant then...:P
Nah, im just pointing out that this whole business of servers is a long term, if that, thing. Bugging about it now is simply pointless. I find enough people to lvl and Rp with anyway, so im happy =] -

I still need a power set for my Grandma Death MM... posted this ages ago but couldn't find the link so for your consideration I give you...
--== Old Ladies! ==--
Flick Murray Mint - Ranged, Light Damage (Smashing/Minty), fast recharge
The Mastermind flicks murray mints at the target causing light damage with a small chance to confuse the enemy with its bland yet oddly satisfying flavour.
Little Old Ladies - Summon 1-3 Little old ladies
Calls forth one to three Little Old Ladies (the second is available at level six, the third at level eighteen) to do your bidding. Little Old Ladies totter towards the enemy at a surprising speed, but they are still the lowest rank Old Ladies and only possess the most rudimentary murray mint attacks. However, they can be trained in more advance techniques invloving hitting enemies on the head with walking sticks. You may only have 3 Little Old Ladies under your control at any given time. If you attempt to call Little Old Ladies, you can only replace the ones you have lost in battle. If you already have three, the power will fail.
Berrate Youth - Melee, Moderate Damage(Smashing/Leathal)
The Mastermind hits the enemy repeatly round the head with his walking stick while ranting that the youth of today have no respect, causing moderate damage and with a small chance to disorient the target.
Equip Old Ladies - Ranged, Equip Henchman
Train your Old Ladies with more advanced techniques and weaponry. This power permanently bestows new powers and abilities to one Old Lady. The powers gained are unique and dependent upon the target. This power only works on your Old Ladies and you can only Train any given Old Lady once. (see appendix)
Bingo Night - Summon gaggle of women at bus stop (Calls approximately 10 old women)
Calls a gaggle of 10 or so 'Old Women' to come to your aid for a brief while. The Bingo Gaggle are not like your true Henchman. They cannot be given direct commands, nor will they appear in your pet window. You must select an enemy target calling these Old Women. The Bingo Gaggle are many, but they are very weak, and rather than attack the target they simply surround them and start complaining about how the bus service is not what it used to be, and what a nice young man the target is, rendering the target unable to attack and lowering its defenses. Although they will follow you, they are not as loyal as your Henchmen, and they will only stick around for a few minutes before wandering off to buy cat food.
Tea Ladies - Summon Tea Ladies
Calls forth one to two Tea Ladies (the second is available at level twenty-four) to do your bidding. Tea Ladies are armed with stories that go no-where about members of their family no one has ever met, which cause PBAoE damage over time. Their weapon of choice is an cup of tea, which they will spill over anyone in a large radius around them, and can be equipped to carry up to 2 at once. You may only have 2 Tea Ladies under your control at any given time. If you attempt to call more Tea Ladies, you can only replace the ones you have lost in battle. If you already have two, the power will fail.
Nice Cup of Tea - Full Heal Old Lady
The Mastermind hands the Old Lady a 'Nice Cup of Tea', restoring them to full health and restores some of her endurance. This power only works on your Old Ladies
Mobility Scooter Lady - Summon Shop Mobility Scooter
Summons one Old Lady riding a Shop Mobility Scooter. Simply put, the Mobility Scooter Lady is a killing machine. There is nothing subtle about her weaponry, as she simply mows down opponents having not seen them due to her dodgy eye sight. You may only have 1 Mobility Scooter Lady under your control at any given time. If you attempt to summon another Mobility Scooter Lady, the power will fail.
Upgrade Old Ladies - Ranged, Equip Henchman
Upgrade your Old Ladies with more advanced techniques and equipment. This power permanently bestows new powers and abilities to one Old Lady. The powers gained are unique and dependent upon the target. This power only works on your Old Ladies and you can only upgrade any given Old Lady once. (see appendix)
Appendix - Equip and Upgrade Details
Equip Old Ladies
- Little Old Ladies: Given Walking Sticks and tartan shopping trolly, Berrate Youth Attack
- Tea Ladies: Given Tea Trolley and Tabard, Nice Cup of Tea Power
- Mobility Scooter Lady - Given front mounted shopping basket (Improved damage/knockback).
Upgrade Old Ladies
- Little Old Ladies: Given Zimmer Frame, and 'Zimmer Charge' AoE Attack.
- Tea Ladies: Steaming Tea Ern, and scalding 'Ooo didn't see you there' AoE Attack
- Mobility Scooter Lady - Given a Clip On Rain Guard (improved defense), and Sonic 'rubbish horn' attack.

Actually, thats not technically true =P You HAVE to respec at 24, but you dont HAVE to take any Bane or Crab Powers. You can totally ignore them, should the mood tkae you. But the Respec is indeed compulsory =3 -
Ha!...Figures
Oh well, it was Hero 1 that stopped the Rikti, so I guess we can do something right anyway XD -
Seeing as the Devs have set up the game this way so far, and put so much work into it as is, something of this scale cant really be put on the agenda, if ya think about it. I admit the idea of a United English server (Union, I vote :P ) is appealing, but that does raise the issue of conflicting names. I dont think that would affect me too much (I tend to pick either complex or specific names =3 ), but I can guess that, as MESS said, people would be a mite ticked off if the name of their beloved character just went poof.
[ QUOTE ]
Ah but then I hear what about my characters names. Well global on the EU are all unique so they wouldnt be affected, but individual character names would be. If a character logs on to the One server whilst there is a character with that name already logged on, there character will be logged into the game with a numerical appendage at the end, or a free name token could be offered to the character that logged on second. It would be a case of have an appendage or first come first served on the naming.
[/ QUOTE ]
This just....no, it really wouldnt be fair. And I think thats one reason why most people wouldnt want to touch it with a big stick.
Tbh, I dont see why the need is...needed, per se.
[ QUOTE ]
Upon logging into the game I would like to be greeted with a comic book style layout that has 6 headshots per page on the left hand side and gives a full image of the character on the right page when it has been selected (a little like it is now). You can flip pages to see all your characters, and extra pages can be bought instead of extra slots. So to recap you would buy 6 new slots in a transaction. I know this means an overhaul, but the current system could be left in place. It is just something I would like to see.
[/ QUOTE ]
This doesnt have anything to do with the servers, tbh. I think, from the heroic point of view and such, its actually not a bad idea. But it has nothing to do with servers. -

Cool idea, methinks, and seeing as the devs are adding more cool costume parts all the time, dont see why this need be written off as impossible =] -
Its a pity that I have to reply to actually say anything. Otherwise I would be able to say that I have to uphold my own views, and thus cannot reply...but oh well
I think Im just going to keep an eye on it to see what other humerous occurences come up XD
