  1. Im pretty sure Im not the only one who would like characters who have weapons to be able to get them out without looking like their about to top someone.
I know the mechanics are there, becuase you see a good ammount of NPCs holding guns in an 'at ease' way.
Stuff like sharpening a sword/axe or tinkering with a gun would also be fantastic, if a little harder to put in.

    Base S/L resistance, 42.5% x 1.56 for SO slotting = 66.%

    Defense from invince, 10 mobs + Tough Hide = 26% x 1.56% for slotting = 40.56%, -5% for unyealding = 35.56%

Statistcally, 1% def is equivelent to 2% res, = 71.12%.

Combine with resistance, remembering to reduce the total, because an attack that has been defended against does not need to be resisted. 71.12 + 66.3x(100-71.12)/100 = 90.3%

    [/ QUOTE ]

ahh, the "1% def equals 2% res" thing is utter rubbish, and if you rely on it to know how your character plays, your going to die a lot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uhm...not really. Have you ever tried fighting some of the people who play defensive sets well? Stalkers are supposed to be squishy, yes? Wrong, not if you cant hit them *at all*...
Thats said, what are we actually debating here? Tanks in PVE or PVP? Cos in PVP, Invul tanks tend to lose. End of, as far as I know.
In PVE, they are damned hard to kill. I should know, I've had mine wade through hordes of purple mobs, taunting every damn thing in range.
And, yeah, if you try and solo them, you will likely die, because tanks were built to be team players. A dead enemy is the best enemy, cos they cant hit you at all.
Calling for 'True' invulnerability is going to fall on sensible ears, and thus go nowhere.
  3. ((Awesome turn out people, and I didnt even get to see the whole party =P Nice to see everyone and great RP ))

So an AV who's fairly easy to defeat is your justification for a powerset that doesn't come close to living up to it's name? Ok then...

Anyone who hasn't managed to gank the Honoree to death in the first few minutes should know the pain that his Unstoppable causes. He doesnt crash. Seriously. He just starts taking damage again. And the Unstoppable. Ad infinatum.
Admittedly we were on a reduced team with no team leader, which sucked. But there you go.

My one gripe is that Impervium Armour is so expensive :P bah!
  5. Yeah...being able to play as Rikti would be ace. I know thay they're meant to be the uber bad guys (Or is that Nemesis?) but what about the traditionalists? And Villains get to work for one anyway...
Hmm, Wild West is quite a neat idea, actually. Although we do have most of the parts already. -shrug-

    SG Shield Icon

The SG shield icon does not show up on any of the base items that are supposed to show the SG Icon. I remember this being the case absolutely AGES ago, and im absolutley amazed that this has still not been fixed.
As far as i know its ONLY the shield icon that does this, and its REALLY annoying =[
  7. Ouch, thats a bad one. I doubt its your computer, either, cos those graphics look decent...-envies-

Yeah, I would actually agree to some slight tweaking. My main Hero is an invul/em tanker, and hes still fairly good, if a little underplayed. It does just feel like Invul is somehow lacking...
    Rock Armour; Granite form
    Fire armour; damage and perma-taunt
Willpower; psionic resistance and general cool stuff
    Ice armour; hibernate

What does Invulnerabilty have compared to those? Admittedly I would take it over fire anyway, because fire has the least mez protection, but still...maybe make Unstoppable mean just that; totally invulnerable. Otherwise it feels like Invulnerable is just 'the generic tanker armour'...which is wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Baring Granite form which has it's own drawbacks, Invun gives the best resistance in the game to every damage type except Psionic.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Really? Hmm...fair doos then XD
  9. Amen. Amen to CoT style robes too, what we have now aint robes, its martial arts kit, whatever way you try and turn it =/
  10. Hmm, not a bad idea. Certainly one worth thinking about. The posses idea aint that bad, actually. Sounds like fun, if nothing else XD

  12. ((I assume so, I havent had too much of a hand in organising this, bar the invite :P ))
  13. Thats quite a neat idea actually. I know that I go to boomtown as often as a really warm british summer...e.g. rarely :P
Throwing in a few more of the head Villains of Heroes would be a nice touch, I have to say. Not a bad idea at all =]

Yes because being able to -Range one target per Taunt is so extreme.

And it doesn't matter if it affects the AI or the Range of an enemy's attacks, either way the critter will have to close distance.

    Edit: Yaharr.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ITs not one target per taunt , in pvp fine maybe it would work , but in pve it would affect a lot of targets.

The game would be even more simplified as it is now .
Sorry you know whats wrong with this game , is that if a group goes well the game becomes so boring .

Sorry was in a TF the other day , and aside from the one mass faceplants (that was fun ) the rest of the TF was a monotome of charge kill heal , charge kill heal ... for 2 hours , no tactic changed no way to speed up things , no need for other tactics .

Sorry now i understand why some people find this game boring . cause if you have too skilled players this game is boring , there is such huge margin for error .
That the game becomes frustrating boring , with - range even more so , sorry there is no need for tanks to go grab other groups or scrappers to go offtank .
Or even some other creative idea , it just make it even more herd up the mobs and nuke it down .

Now i dont know why people love it but i can“t stand 2 hours of herd and kill game , thats like wack a mole .
Without any risk at all .

Sorry more bosses and elite bosses spawns when group past 4 people , cause currently its heck boring , other then zerg tactics and no brainers.

the heck with XP curves so give risk versus rewards .
Currently the XP versus risk is so minimal that game becomes stale mate , especially in team , but everybody abhores a bad pug of debt and runs off , instead of seeing it as a challenge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would really really help if you learned how to type properly, so that the point actually makes sense.
The game isn't really 'easy', nor is teaming well. When you do find a good team, then it does make it 'easier', but only because there is less arguing and more well thought out fighting. Getting a team of players from 1 to 50 would still take a good long time. And thats assuming its people who just played for exp solid 24/7.
One of the most self-contradicting posts I've ever seen, tbh... And the ammount of times you say 'sorry' is daft.

That aside, looking at the way other posts were put, I actually /unsign now, as it would mess things up somewhat. Giving tanks something different would be much better, as gauntlet is as much use as the old defiance ever was. E.g. nil.
  15. The bugged Protectors get on my nerves every goddamned time. And its only after I12 that it became really bad. Before, once in a while, a bot would get stuck, and often on a wierd bit of terrain. Not they get stuck in opne floor....ANNOYING!
The buff problem is worrying me. Im not sure if thats affected me or not though.

Shouldn't that be 'Surrender, evil scum!' instead Alpha? These are heroes, after all.

A low level co-op starting zone has been suggested before, and was very popular then and still is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My point exactly...I've been in D's with the cross-over-cultists for too long X3
I mean, some people seem really REALLY confused about which side they're on. I have no problem with slightly gritty heroes, ah la Punisher and suchnot. Anti-Heroes, iirc, are basically what we make our villains. Or should, in some cases.
Yeah, Villains should have a few redeeming features. All the old school ones did (Dr Doom, Magneto, etc) aside from the classic 'Arch-Villains' like Apocalypse, who are pure evil. Similar to the Rikti Liniage of War, for example...

    Anyway, back to the Topic...

Although I feel PVP as a whole could use a re-look, although thats because I seem to try it when its 'Elite' hours or something
  18. True. True.
And you still get the odd cry of 'Die, evil scum!' even now :P heh
  19. Hehe, suits you...nice =P
I actually really like the little transformation power idea. Slightly silly, but still characterful.
Of course, boosters that feautured costume pieces from some of the trademark enemy groups would go down a bomb. I know that me and Blitzkrieger would vote for a 5th Column pack for the Unbroken Column :P
But yeah, a definite yes to future boosters with cool ideas =]

I do still find it wierd that they get on at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A lot of the big hero vs villain nemesis type deals start out with the two sides being friends and then things go bad somehow. Look at Prof X and Magneto. Or Statesman and Lord Recluse. It's certainly a classic for the Batmanesque hero to discover that his best friend from school has become your worst enemy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Spiderman rings more of a bell.
But thats the point, really. Become good/evil. Hate each others guts. Duke it out, until united to defeat a common foe, then back to nuking each other again.
Im not saying its a bad idea, far from it. Its jsut sometimes I find it odd, especially in Pocket D, how fine the line seems at times. =P

I love the idea of making movies with created characters, but it seems like the movie stuff is latched in the realm of hard-core wise-guys that have the time and patience to learn how to use complicated stuff.
Some sort of system would be ace, using either new tech or a combination of current things (the maps used for bank missions, mission creator and suchnot)
  22. ((The event is tommorow, FYI. Just to see if we get any late applicants =P
Personally, I have work until around 10-ish, variable, but Alpha should make an entrance sometime later on. Hope to see peoples there. ))

    Was quite miffed at that.
  24. Hmmm, point. But still, the whole 'paying for cool stuff' will totally defeat the object of veteran rewards.
Booster packs, on the other hand, look to be a sell-out sucess. I think they will get a lot of love and attention in the not too distant future.

-Runs off screaming "NUKE!" at the mob in front of him-
  25. It kinda grates against the whole Heroes 'VS' Villains idea...
I do still find it wierd that they get on at all. The RWZ is supposed to force cooperation out of them, as does Cimerora. ( No one wants squid-wannabe Requiem ruining the party :P )
But....yeah, the PVP zones really lack that 'comic-book' feeling that makes CoX so fun most of the time. No fledglling rivalries, no silly gags at your nemesis' expense....just some hardcore PVP fan pulping you flat as soon as you step outta the zone.

I think its certainly worth thinking about. PVP at the mo tends to throw you in at the deep end, at the mercy of the stalkers and blasters...and im pretty sure im not the only one to curse the other side more than once :P
