In a Super Hero/Villain game, you can never have 'enough' -
Ahh, understood. Yeah, odds are high then ><

24 packs, got all the costume parts. Oh well, I guess that one off drop was worth it. A few AT IOs and over a grand and a half in merits.
-
Hfff....
I'm going to swallow my previous statement and lay down on one big set. I have points to spare from when the market first went live and there was a lot of stuff I wanted that needed points.
If I can get the entire costume in that one drop, then all's good, I guess... -
Quote:The thing is, I have no objection whatsoever to paying for that set. I would instantly, INSTANTLY pony up the points for the Elemental Order Bundle. As soon as it went live.I think they'll cave on this eventually but personally, I don't think it's a big deal, for two reasons.
1. Costume pieces and other items are sometimes gated, either behind content, reward tiers, and now super packs. It will make the company some extra money, and in City of Heroes we're seeing lenient trade-offs compared to the historically unfair F2P model; especially when you consider that anyone who spent a few dollars probably has most of the costume set now. By my third super pack, I had most of the set.
But I refuse, on principle, to buy any of these packs where there is only a chance to get what I am actually after. Yes, I get other stuff. Other stuff I have little to no interest in.
I fail to see why it's so hard to put the Elemental Order set up as a paid for bundle. After all, if the Packs stand up on their own merits, surely they'll still make income, yes? -

Quote:...You know what, Ive just had one of my depressive mood switches, looking at this in the post elative light of a serious down mood, I cant believe what I fell for.
Anybody else realised that this was announced when the super packs went live? That its just a way to distract us from being pissed off about their attempts to gouge us?
Here look shinnies, look at the shinnies, dont complain about the $20+ costume set, cus look shinnies.
Go back to sleep, CB. You wonderous headcase you -
I thought it was funny. I guess, heaven forbid, not everyone thinks the same? Or takes something very clearly meant in jest, especially if you know Zwill even slightly, way out of proportion and like he had just punted their dog off a bridge?

Quote:Dude, seriously, if all it takes is one non-serious Tommy Lee Jones joke picture for you to consider it 'shouting down'...well, you need help. Really. No I got that she did it in her free time, and I think that is awesome. My issue is what I saw becoming a trend with the Carnie pack. They really couldn't give masks and a sash to the two other models?
I really don't care if the female models get unique parts, and the male parts. What bothers me is that I read males are never going to get unique parts again. What bothers me is that it is ok to complain about gender equality when females are the underdog, but as soon as males say something they are shouted down, and by an effin community rep none the less.
I like fairness and equality. I just feel that is no longer something the devs care about.
I highly doubt the Devs are going to 'Never ever ever ever, no never' do any unique parts for Male/Huge models. It's never been true in the past, and I don't see it starting now. I'm pretty sure they are well aware of that. -
Quote:This gets my backingKnowing as we do, how much work is required for new MM primaries, I'd have to be strongly oppossed to this.
I'd much rather that time and money be spent finally getting us, if even limited, customization for pets. That way you could have a PPD themed Merc MM. Or a Longbow themed Thug MM, etc.
Even if true customizing is out of the question, ie getting to actually create the individual pets looks ourselves, I'd love to be able to pick between various skins for the pets like we can now with weapons. -
Quote:Warning: Detecting Serious sense of humour failure in drives 2, 3, 4 and 9.I am pretty upset too. I think more people would voice that they are upset if Zwill (and several others) didn't throw e-tomatoes at the first person who said something.
Did you guys totally miss the part where Dink worked on this IN HER FREE TIME? Yes, I feel caps are justified, because people are talking about 'development time' where there technically was none. -
Quote:^ This. So damn much.If we complain about the Super Pack-only costume as soon as we learn about it, it's "too early to make a fuss, wait for more details".
If we complain while it's on Beta, it's "still on Beta, they may change it yet".
If we complain when it comes out and the alternate was of getting it is *still* not here, it's "well it's not exactly new information, it's too late to complain now". -
Quote:Uh...what?I'm losing developer time, apparently. Given this latest development, it now means that the developers are now "wasting time" on costume options that 2/3 of the models in the game can't use, since they've decided to forgo their traditional 2/3 get A and 1/3 gets B and allowed for 3/3 to get A and 1/3 STILL gets B.
No. Just no.
Before, it was M/H get A and F get B. Or M/F/H get A.
Now it's ALL get A AND F get B.
You are losing nothing.
Not to mention Dink did this in her spare time! This is exactly the same bleeding stupid argument people wailed about when Walk came out, despite BaBs working on it in his free time!
Sheesh... -

Quote:Hey dudes and gals,
For those who dont already know me, Im Leo. I have been an FX Artist here at Paragon Studios for just over a year. Some of you may wonder, Why Honey Badger?
I begrudgingly took this red-name after a failed joke I made during one of the weekly USTREAM Coffee Talk sessions. Players on the chat box were joking with my partner in crime, Tunnel Rat, about what my red name might be. When some ridiculous animal names started cropping up, I threw out the honey badger as a joke, knowing how the memory of that internet clip would make her crack up on camera. Little did I know that it would stick and that YOU PEOPLE WOULD NEVER LET IT DIE THEREAFTER. AAAARRRGHH!!!
ok, its kinda funny. Whatever.
Anyhow, I am posting to announce that I am gonna be helping out the Tunnel Rat with answering queries on this thread. It has been quite an experience reading your suggestions, and an even bigger thrill to be able to fulfill some of em! I wish to continue this tradition, and welcome any suggestions for new Auras, Emotes, Costume Change Emotes hell, anything we can feasibly do with VFX is game here. Specifically the Aura part. I dont care how dumb it sounds, it might spark an idea for something we could possibly do. I mean it! I need MOAR! GIMMEH MOAR! MOOOOOOAAAAARRR!
ahem
Thats it, I gotta get back to work.
Party on dudes!
You. Yes, you.
I like the cut of your jib. Carry on, dear chap, carry on -
...
Dink. I hereby crown you, Dink the Most Excellent, as Sexiest of all Sexy and Art-Lord of all time. OF ALL TIME!
And so help me I will transform into Brian Blessed and Duel any man (or woman) that questions this ruling!! -
No alternative way to get the Elemental Order costume?
Then no ******* payment. -
Quote:We don't have plans offer a secondary option in the immediate future.
Sorry.
Quote:Am I missing something or are rares the most common? (Minus the Black Wolf.)
You should be.
I am with-holding my cash monies from these things. Even though I really, really badly want those costume pieces, I am NOT supporting these damn things. End of. -

Quote:Yes! Yes!Hi Folks,
First of all, thanks for taking the time to provide us your input on the upcoming Retro Sci-Fi costume set! Dink has been looking forward to making this set, and just so you know, youll probably get a couple of bonus items in addition to the ones you voted for.
Without further ado, heres what were planning to build and why!
Bubble Helmet B This will be a detail 2 option in the standard heads category. Several hairstyles and head details are going to clip with it, but figure well let you guys be the arbiters of what works there. Well likely make a version of this that does not include the vox-box on the collar detail.
Rocket Pack B Were going to build the B option, per your request. Because B and C share some very similar geo and its a very small leap, well also be making option C. Obviously this does not directly reflect voting, but its bonus because of ease of implementation.
Space Suit B Were going to build Space Suit B. I havent quite worked out whether the shoulders will be a separate shoulder detail or built into the suit (thatll sort that out over the course of building the suit.) Additionally, well do our best to provide glow and non-glow versions of this suit. We also saw your request for the chest detail from Suit A as well, so were going to make that a stretch goal. You might get a little something-something from C as well (not the full suit, just a piece or two possibly), but well let that be a surprise.
Ray Gun B Ok, this is where things get a bit interesting, like the rocket pack, B and C share a lot of similar geo. We plan to build B both with and without the fin and with and without the glow on the rings, and because of that well also build C with and without the fin. This will require us changing the shape of C slightly, giving it a back end more similar to B in order to minimize the extra work involved.
Ray Gun Rifle A Were going to build Rifle A, given the feedback about Rifle C were going to see what we can do about incorporating aspects of that Rifle into A as well. Specifically were going to try to incorporate the muzzle, stock, and the canister on top into a separate version of this gun.
What about the dress?!
Its being built, with some additional components and pieces you havent seen, Dink is hard at work. She is also providing a new face or two as well.
Lastly, we recognize that people have very different ideas about rings, not rings, glow, and not-glow. Where possible we are going to try to provide as many with and without options as possible within the set.
This is what I like to see. Communication. You asked, we spoke, you then show the results and how it's going down.
This is good. And I hear Zwill on the 'not possible all the time'. That's fine too. Everyone likes a surprise now and thenBut more of this is a goooood good thing.
Keep on rocking.
