Talos already has a lot of new content in it, though. Sure could use a graphical overhaul...but...well, that's true of EVERY zone in Paragon except Croatoa, possibly Striga and maybe Eden. ALL the other zones, in my opinion, are screaming for a modern facelift.

It had an air of mythology about it, and really fit the theme of what kind of threats Incarnates will be facing on Primal Earth, since up to this point the Incarnate powers and trials have been entirely Praetorian focused. Quote:We’re still telling the story of Praetoria until Emperor Cole, aka Tyrant, is defeated. So even in a Primal zone like Dark Astoria there is still going to be some Praetorian influence in the story.
There is enough irony here to build Optimus Prime. Seriously.
Edit:
Quote:If I were to revamp any zone I’d probably do Kings Row. Right now the level progression once you get out of Atlas Park is a bit too jarring for my taste, as Kings Row has dramatically older content than the new Atlas Park shows off. -
The guy on top right is really snazzily done.

And watching these boards, I can see why the "forum cartel" accusation comes up. Same people arguing against virtually anything and everything. (No, I don't agree with it, I'm just pointing it out. Seems more like there are just a few people that are so jealous of their "elite" status *cough* they want nothing to change.) Worse since some of the more helpful vets left a while ago. -
Nothing to do with the forums, all to do with the evil drones that run marketing.

Quote:Right. Which makes the original suggestion daft, then, because already not every AT or set combo can handle EBs. What might be easy on, say, an Invul/Enrg Tank would be a very long, protracted and possibly frustrating fight on another combo, like certain Defenders, Controllers and even Blasters.I am talking about in relation to what the average character should be equipped with at their level...with incarnates being taken into account for DA
completely purped out characters should always be outliers...not the standard of measure
Right now, EBs seem to sit at an 'about right' power level. I am personally against any changes to that, as that risks turning them from tough but mostly fun (with exceptions, Sea Witch and Ballista...) to an utter frustration. YMMV -
Quote:What I wanted to say, backed up by numbers.Lets assume that sniper blasts couldn't be interrupted at all, so they could be used at any time. In that case, with no other changes, they would still have just about the worst DPA of any single target ranged blaster attack. Using them during combat would actually *lower* your damage, not raise it.
Outside of normal combat, using it as an alpha and runner attack makes the power very marginal. Using it at any time other than the initial alpha reduces your damage as mentioned above, even if it is not interrupted. Using it to catch runners only makes sense when the runner is more than 80' away, less than 150' away, and will not break line of sight four seconds after you first activate the power.
Base running speed is 21 feet per second. In 4 seconds a runner can travel over 80 feet if they are running away. That's fast enough that if the runner runs in a straight line they will escape the range of snipe unless they were initially in the range of a normal attack anyway. Runners don't always run in straight lines, but they also have a tendency to disappear around corners.
'If it's not broke' only applies with things that are already doing a good job. Snipes, for the most part, are not. -
Quote:Yeah, I agree with that sadly.Since they are really terrible at UI design lately, I would rather they just implement monitorable lines in Combat Attributes. I would hate to see what they did to show it in the UI. :/
Being able to drag-drop the bars from the Incarnate window to a smaller version that could sit where you wanted it would be cool, though.
IF the code monkeys stopped flinging peanuts long enough to do a half-decent job for once -_- -
Well, I don't really need them (never used Grav, always took AS and slotted it on my Stalkers), but colour me confused as to the reasoning behind not giving one this issue. These aren't exactly small changes here. It certainly seems to go against the precedent...

Quote:Nope. It's the sign of someone who is either naive and idealistic (and likely to wind up dead fast) or of a sociopath and borderline psychopath. He signed up to be a soldier. That is the mudder fudding epitome of hero.
And that's in the words of an actual soldier, speaking outside of all the propaganda and red tape.

I don't even know if Shadowhunter and Infernal(Praet) exist in this new Praetoria. I'm pretty sure the official canon was SH got himself ett by the DE. Black Swan I've not even heard of for a long while, which leaves Chimera and Dominatrix as ones we know are still there.
-
At least you put someone I've never heard of.
If you'd mentioned a certain youth that most people think looks like a girl and sings like a **** then I'd have had to hunt you down and throttle you with your own innards. -
Gods yes, /Signed every time. That those contacts and their dross still exist along side the more polished recent stuff is nothing short of terribad.

Quote:^ This, so very much.By doing what they did for the other 90-something percent of the game.
Keep nothing important gated behind teaming. Just make teaming more renumerative for the player.
If it's not broken, don't try and fix it. Because you'll simply break it. -
I'd say I aim to make them unique as characters, not by how they are defined. Mostly because when you try to make them THE of anything, you run the risk of serious toe treading.
I think it boils down to the concept being a vessel for the character, not the other way around. Even my most 'THE' esque character, Nightwalker, who is a Nictus Scientist determined to complete the 'evolution' of the Nictus into higher beings with all their upsides and none of the downsides, is still a character built upon that concept. To make it simpler; he is a character who is built upon a concept but not ruled and defined solely by it.
In other words, I find that characters built purely upon one THE, one immobile concept, tend to be too restrictive. For my tastes, anyway -
From this I can take away that Leo has a massive chip on his shoulder about Stalkers....
Personally love the changes. And, nope, still doesn't feel like a Scrapper. If you're really going to use that argument, then surely my Scrappers are just inferior Tankers? Or are my Tankers inferior Scrappers...?
Nope, still doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Not personally, anyway *shrug* -
Fantastic work, Haz. Simple, bold, stylish. Great colour and line work. Keep it up!

I'm pretty sure there was an older version of Requiem that used Dark powers pre-Warshade powers? Dark/Dark scrapper version that used to be considered very nasty.
Either way, Req has always been let down by power levels and game mechanics, I felt. Reich's was just a cheaty pile of hax with way too much HP. That was a meta-fault, not a lore fault.
