Might as well update test anyway, because I hate having to wait for patches to load when stuff is actually there for me to mess with. Had to DL all of Test in France when AE went live. That was annoying XD

Yeah, do feed him, poor thing looks starved. I wouldnt be surprised, given how badly they usually treat race dogs.
Still, he's got a good home =] take care of him, SS. -
I like the 'parts' idea, though how technologically feasible it is is another matter (eg I have no idea)
Heres what I would say;
Head Crippled;
-Acc(or ToHit, not sure which has a greater effect) -Perception -Recharge
Loses any powers related to the Head
-1 'Structure Point'
Right arm lost;
Loses any powers related to the Arm
-1 SP
Left arm lost;
Loses any powers related to the Arm
-1 SP
Right Leg lost;
-50% movement speed.
Loses ability to Foot Stomp, and any leg related power.
-1 SP
Left Leg lost;
-50% movement speed.
Loses ability to Foot Stomp, and any leg related power.
-1 SP
If both legs are destroyed, the Robot is immobilised. However, its other parts become stronger in damage and HP, as power is re-routed from the now broken legs.
If both arms are destroyed, the Robots speed is increased, and becomes resistant to slows and immobilises, and its head related powers become stronger, as power is re-routed from the destroyed weapons.
If the head is destroyed, the Robot becomes nearly immune to taunt effects, as it flails and opens fire on anything it can get a lock on, however temporary.
Robots 'HP' is 3 Structure Points. Once it has lost 3, it is destroyed. -
Quote:I saw where you were coming from. And that sounds like a reasonable enough idea, because Goliath did have a good point too.Good point about the finances.
Here's my counterpoint...make the proliferation come with GR.
So when you purchase the GR expansion you get...all the new content that comes with GR plus the proliferated ATs.
Therefore, they lose no money.
I does somewhat force you through Praetoria right now. I mean, I'll be playing it anyway, probably multiple times
but forcing things gets tiring after a while...like having to start in Mercy.

Is basically what you are saying. Nice to see constructive critiscism alive and well.
OT:
I would be against train mission. But I would be for changing/adding to Radio/Paper missions.
Basically, instead of picking ones out and following the x missions then bank pattern, the idea would be thus;
Any zone your level or lower. For now, call them 'Occurences'.
Pop-ups like the Contact Introduction windows. Allow for them to be toggled on or off in the Mission window.
Example of 'Occurence' in Atlas Park for a level 10.
"While walking, you catch sight of a small gang of Trolls, hurrying away. Trolls usually hang around in Skyway or the Hollows. Something must be up if they're in Atlas...
Investigate? Y/N"
Example of 'Occurence' in Atlas Park for a level 50.
"Another normal day...until you spot something slip away into a back alley. Was that a Malta agent? What the heck are those goons doing here? Someone better check that out, and fast...
Investigate? Y/N"
Example of Yes answer for lvl 10 popup;
"You tail the Trolls until they split up. Before they go, you overhear one say to the others; "Meet at big warehouse in X. No be late! Boss no like late..." Right. Time to pay this 'Boss' of theirs a visit!"
Example of No answer for lvl 10;
"Ahh, nevermind. The Trolls are so stupid they probably took the wrong tunnel. Besides, Atlas is well protected; it won't be long before the hopped up junkies are watching the pretty colours in a PPD cell."
Example of Yes answer for lvl 50 popup;
"You watch, until another appears in the alley. It passes over a package, and you hear whispered words; "Get that back to base. I'll follow on foot. Whatever you do, don't lose it!" The new package carrier nods, before teleporting away. Still, at least the other goon is still here. Time to tail him, and find out what Malta want that's so important..."
Example of No answer for lvl 50;
"You pause, giving yourself a moment to think. Was that really a Malta agent...or are you chasing shadows now? Admit it, you've been working pretty hard recently. And Atlas is the most secure zone in the city. Maybe it's time to go grab a break, rather than working yourself so hard you start seeing things."
This way you can both choose to have the missions at all or not, and accept ones that you fancy and ignore others you dont. It'd mix up the flow a bit, and add that special 'unexpected element' for a dull day if you were looking for one. -
Quote:Alternating for sets that have already got alt animations I see as maybe being possible.Oh OK I didn't realize the 4 different animations for Pistols. I can't remember but I don't think I took it. I took dual wield and empty clips and for those there's only 1 animation.
Regarding my comment about the tech, they gave us the option to choose different animations. The /em alakazamreact cycles through different things (each player has a chance of seeing something different).
So I'm more certain than not that the tech wouldn't be too hard. It would just require additional animations with the same exact animation length.
With that being said, I do have a feeling that there's still a lot of stringy code in this game so for all we know making this change could break bases.
Also when I first made this suggestion I was thinking how cool it would be to see both KO blow animations during battle.
Thanks for the feedback.
Regards,
Fitz
Really, Alakazam react is still the same animation. It just randomises the end result. The actual animation part of it didnt change, only requiring (afaik) a minor direction change for the coding (instead of, for example, 'Replace with object:Pumpkin' it would be 'Replace with object:Parameter:Objects list', which is a bit like what Propel uses.)
So, they could choose something a bit like propel does, with random objects, in this case the animations. Maybe.
Dual Pistols does not, as yet, have any alternate animations. So that would require work, because they'd need to be made first. -
Quote:This is as suicidal as saying; "It can't really be that bad." when talking about the internet.
I don't think the tech to do this would be tough and I still think it'd be a nice feature.
We have no idea how hard the tech is.
On the plus side, we do see it used in DP as it is; [Pistols] has 4 different animations that it cycles through, and looks gorgeous for it. -
Quick question; will new skins be coming when GR goes live, and the current ones are just stand ins? Or is this a more long-term thing?
Slightly curious, is all. (If a BaBs happens to wander by
)

Its WIP. There is an 'unofficial' update with it in, but its not the finalised one.
Given Mids is made by a player, under his own volition, have some patience

Quote:Correct.I fully understand -- Demon Summoning will be locked to those who didn't pre-purchase, but if you read the text of when to expect it, it will be arriving with the release of i17. Therefore, it could be part of the closed beta testing going on right now... that's all I'm saying.
Here's the text again:
WITH the launch of Issue 17 (to those people who pre-purchase)
Unfortunately, Im not in Closed Beta this time *sigh*
Dern it!

Quote:Me and the rest of the Galaxy girl statue RPers say; How about no.I mean retcon them into one zone

Put the Galaxy Girl statue behind the City Hall, and the Freedom Corps HQ would either be made into an underground place under City Hall, or put close beside it, possibly in the car park between City Hall and the station.
Make the whole zone slightly larger, and fil u+out the extra bits with any unique buildings from either zone. -
Quote:No. I17 is when Demon Summoning is available EARLY for those who PREPURCHASE Going Rogue. Same as Dual Pistols is open EARLY now for the same people.So Issue 17 contains two items originally slated for Going Rogue.? (Ultra-Mode and Demon Summoning)
Ultra Mode is free content, which makes perfect sense. The two powersets still require you to buy Going Rogue in one form or another.
It puzzles just why people find this so hard to understand. -
I'm in the studio, so I dont have my handy stack of files to show just how hard I facepalmed this statement...

Got to level 13 in one night, which is good going for me

Ran a sewer team from Atlas to Kings, ended up with four people, but bumped into some friends who were going the other way at the Kings door XD
Teamed, went to the Hollows, unloaded an ungodly F-ing firestorm on Frosty and crew. Good times =] -
Blue....why you don't have a job at Paragon Studios is beyond me.
This stuff isn't good. It's A Grade Purest Awesome.
Don't you dare stop writing!

Ok boys, we hit em fast, hit em hard. Oorah?
Oorah!
The SWAT van was well disguised in the back alley in Skyway. The squad had been waiting all day, preparing for the meeting that information had placed at this site. A group of Hellion gang bosses had recently been upping activity in Skyway, and word was they were trying to push their criminal activities further afield. The PPD, obviously, was having none of it.
Standard drill. Keep it quiet, only fire if fired upon until my mark, and dont leave a man behind, Jen muttered into the radio, as the squad edged up to the door. She nodded to Moore, her second and squad Grenadier, who cut the lock, edging the door open carefully.
The squad stuck to the shadows as best they could, heading down the halls of the abandoned warehouse. The so called Land of the Lost was a dangerous place, even for a Hellion. But it did mean they could use buildings like these as safe houses. Usually.
Jen raised a fist, stopping the squad at the corner. Using the small mirror from her tactical kit, she glanced around the corner.
Hellions. A gang of five, one of them wearing the mask of a Fallen. No ways around. Jen turned back, motioning to the other officers. Weapons free; shoot to disarm.
The squad came around the corner perfectly, Moore landing a stun grenade squarely in the middle of the lounging thugs. Only the Fallen and one other, who had had his back turned, didnt fall, clutching their eyes. The Blood Brother didnt even bother reaching for his pistol, instead scooping up the fire axe that lay on the crate beside him and charging at the SWAT squad with a frenzied yell. The Fallen hung back, bringing his gun, some mark or another of Uzi, and opened fire. The Squad dropped into cover, Moore side-stepping and clubbing the charging Hellion in the stomach with his bulky grenade launcher, Jen managing to shoot the weapon clean out of the Fallens hands, before Ketchard tasered him, bringing him down.
Move up, keep it tight. Jen was relieve it had gone well so far. But they werent home dry yet, and, given the lucky shot just now, she wasnt holding out for any more special get-aways.
They ran into another gang further in, this one alerted by the previous gun-shots. Both Ketchard and ONeil went down, although fortunately not fatally, and they managed to help each other back down the hallway, headed for the exit.
Jen motioned to the eight men left; weapons free; shoot to kill unless vital target.
The way to the main warehouse holding room was blocked by a door, one which yielded to Conley blowing the hinges off with his shotgun. They fanned out, guns sweeping the upper walkways and the piles of crates.
All of a sudden the lights went out, a distant, dying whirr making it clear someone had just blown the generator.
Shite...Infra-red, Jen growled, flicking her visor down. Ops team, be advised, lights are down in the building. Watch for anyone trying to leave via other access points, over.
Ah, but Sergeant...wheres the fun in that?
Jen spun, gun already trained. There was a crackling growl, as fire caught on the upper balcony, spreading all along one side before spilling onto the stairs. A figure strode out from behind the wall, silhouetted by the flames. It was quite clear, from the horned mask and the hellfire in his eyes, that this was one of the Damned they had been after.
Sergeant Kerringer, PPD SWAT! Drop any weapons you may have, and get down on the ground with your hands in the air! Jen shouted, sticking to the book, despite an overwhelming urge to nail the demon summoning vermin right between the eyes. The city was better off without him and his kind.
Oh, we know who you are, sergeant, a voice, the exact same as that of the first Damned, came from behind her. She spun, Moore covering the first target; a second Damned was sat on a crane arm which, even as they watched, burst into flame, throwing his form into sharp relief.
Who are you? Jen snapped, training her M4 on him, the dot-sight centred squarely over his heart. If the thing even had a heart anymore, she added mentally.
Who, me?
Or me?
Or maybe...me? the fifth figure asked, as it stepped into view, on the balcony that overlooked the warehouse floor. Some of the squad jumped as the rest of the area burst into flames, in time with each figure speaking. That wasnt what had Jen spooked, though; what creeped her out was that all five voices were identical.
Identify yourself! she yelled, glaring at the final figure as the squad formed a circle, back to back.
The man...no, Jen realised, the mask itself, grinned back at her.
Why, my dear...You can call me Le Jean. -
Quote:Whereas now, at higher levels, it's more a case of '1 Hero versus as many minions as he is capable of tearing to itty bitty pieces'He also made a nice post-ED state-of-the-game speech where he talked about his vision and how it was aimed at 1 hero against 3 minions = balance, and that he based that on iirc nintendo hand helds from way back.

I find it a shame about Atari, t'be honest. Ever since Transformers for PS2 (the one based on Armada, NOT the Bayformers game) I've liked them. That game was beyond just good.
Still, if it ever came down to us or them? Well, durr

I wasn't here (You had to be there, man!)
But what it ammounts to, it seems, was how little he listened to the player base, how he threw out promises like gold, which turned out to me made by leprechauns (i.e. it fizzled into dirt a few days later) and refused to compromise on his 'vision' of the game.
Basically, just take a look at the bad things in Champions. That'll be Emmert Grade fail. We still, sadly, have a few things left over from him, such as most of the Freedom Phalanx TFs. Thankfully, the current (superior) Devs seem to have finally gotten around to taking out the trash, starting with the Posi TF.
So, yeah. If its in CoX, and you really hate it...odds are its an Emmert

Alpha: Sorry, what?
Omega 1: ...You're evil...You know that, right?
Alpha: Yes. And?
Omega 1: Just saying...
