  5. The 'VIP' servers, to my mind, are the escape for all the Elitists and down-their-nose lookers who would just alienate genuine nice players and others and stop them adding to the game.

    Good riddance, I say. I'll be waiting on Union to welcome the next batch of RPers.

    1) Staying on Union for me
    2) We're all subbed as we are, right now. Thats the same as VIP will be. Ergo, nothing will really be changing if we stay subbed. We may even get more benefits.

    I guess we'll have to wait and see...

    -Shut up the damn 'dying' VG trooper in the last mission. He's clearly well enough to cycle through all his lines, loud enough to carry across the whole map. Someone get him a mediporter, please!

    I have still never seen a Nemesis that looks like that. I keep seeing that image. But never in-game. I'm pretty sure that's meant to be the model for AV class Nemesis.
    But he only uses a Boss class model atm. I.E. looks exactly the same.

    Anyone got a source for that model there?

  16. There is no 'draw' to play old stuff, especially not blueside because, except for the more recent stuff, the overwhelming majority of it is seven year old dross. Stuff that Jack built. And thats NOT a good thing.
  17. All you need to do is look at the difference between Praetoria and Atlas park.

    Atlas uses copy-paste buildings that feature in other zones. Some of them look terrible but, worse than that, they look impractical. Some of them have no windows except on one side! Some of them are wider at the top than the base! I mean, honestly? Did the person who design them even bother thinking of basic architecture?

    Praetoria might be a dystopian other world, but it looks and feels like a city. Its like a high-tech version of...well, a real world city. Its great!

    That level of quality should be made available in the standard game, not just for those that pay for the expansion.

    Total Focus. It is a cool animation. To me, you get that "here it comes... HERE IT COMES... BOOM!" out of it, but it spends too long of a time coming. Could we just speed it up? Across the board. I'd also like to see KO Blow as an option here.
    It certainly needs something more punchy. Gravitic Emanation does do it very well. Or the new, two handed 'arms behind back, then big sweep forward' animation they did for certain blast sets.

    Re:Total Focus; I think it's the speed of the animation. It's far too floaty, and the impact lacks...well...impact? KO blow is a good one; the final sweep is fast and punchy. I'd actually argue for TF and its clones to be a massive one handed punch. The jump would be up faster, small hangtime, and then a punishing downstrike with a more solid landing stance. The landing stance looks *really* insecure, and thus ruins any feeling of impact, for me at least.

    Personally, I'd like to have the alt animation for footstomp (groundpunch) as an option for solar flare. And the PB clone blast to not use the old flares animation. It looks horrible.

    I've never liked the Total-Focus clones 'floaty floaty thud!' animation. Far too slow, not enough punch.

    If that's true, and I suspect it is, then why do it the way it is? Yes, the Alpha may be an anomaly, but it's also the anomaly that has drawn least criticism out of the two types. While, yes, alpha was originally complained about in parts (name one game system that hasn't, ever) the following slots have drawn a far heavier amount of flak. It is fairly clear, from both in-game and forum reactions that, in terms of negativity, far more is aimed towards the Trial-exclusive slots.

    Now, seeing the Alpha as a 'compromise'? That may be fair enough, but the complete lack of anything solid isn't exactly helping matters. I think it's the 'compromise' nature of it that's causing the problems. Is there going to be solo/team friendly content, as a lot of people have asked for? Are people going to be able to wait and do other stuff until the type of content they are comfortable with comes out? Or will the response be 'tough nuts' as nothing comes from it? That communications disconnect is causing problems, and the 'shut up and lump it' attitude from a number of the forum base is doing nothing but fray tempers from the looks of it (not unreasonably, at least in my opinion)

    I'm honestly hoping I am wrong, and that I21 will contain a massive influx of Incarnate 'worthy' content, for all walks, and prove me happily wrong. I appreciate that 20.5 is just that, a mid-issue, so I won't comment on that, other than to point out that, even with the upcoming 'Hamidon tunnels' trial that was mentioned, four trials gets incredibly old incredibly fast especially with no predictability in the reward tables. It's the sheer 'up in the air' quality of the ITrials that bugs me. I could, feasibly, have had all T4s by now. Luck has deigned it not be so, however. And there is a very limited ranges of alternatives to that, all of which result in a grind.
