Because, if you look at it, they only have one, two at the tops, powers like that. The Corolax are the only ones I can actually think of. They are literally the only mobs in the game that have water powers. One they tend to share animations with stuff like toxic spit/vomit and cone-sprays.

To make a whole set that was up to PC standard and didn't just cycle animations? To make it look good would, apparently require UM. I trust the Devs on that.

Also, if it's just a KB heavy set...hello Energy Blast? It even defaults to blue. There you go, problem solved.

Heroes and Villains unlock Epic Archetypes at level 20.
I....don't think I know what the heck you're on about.

    Yes, please!

Then I can point. And laugh.

So? It's a game set in America. That doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't exist. Hard though that may be to imagine.

Besides, why on earth would, say,a giant Iron Golem character wield a tiny toothpick of a sword that looks bloody silly? When he can have a giant, scaled size sword? Or a ravening, failed experiment villain, tearing out a lamp post to smash people with.

It fits just fine, thanks. And some of us are happy for it.

Nope. This game is clearly based on Marvel/DC-styled heroics... with but a rare few exceptions.

    Others will really, really like.

I am very much looking forward to making a giant-sword character.

    1) As others have said, re-coloured energy blast is all Legacy chain blast is. Wether we ever get alt animations or sfx is anyones clue.

    2) No sign of it yet, and it has been suggested for a long time by a lot of people. Having seen them finally release 2H weapons? Anyones guess.

    3) Again, no idea. Again, it's been mentioned before a LOT. They are aware of it.

    4) Never going to happen. To make it look 'right' would require Ultra mode, and that would require everyone use Ultra mode as a base. Thats not going to happen by the Devs own admission, ergo it's not happening.

    5) Ditto. It wouldn't even BE a proper underwater zone, because of the complications of power animations, power effects...the list is very long, and has been covered and Dev debunked many times before. In BaB's words, it'll happen about the same time as the Dual Archery Defence set.

    6) See above, but anyones guess. They may do a moonbase zone sometime. I doubt they'd do vacuum, though. Again, power effects and animations.

    7) If you mean costume pieces? No idea. The WW look alike in screenshots had two unique weapons. Actual In-game effects? Would require re-working every weapon set, ergo no.

    8) + 9) Not happening. Ever. Game engine limitations. Been raised and put down many, manty times before.

    10) Anyones guess. Would like to see it, though.

    11) 100% want to see this. Wether it happens is...anyones guess.

You also don't come by what you have just by honest play, you're either farming (PvE or PvP) or using some form of exploits.

Hopefully, you're like I am and welcome new players and guide them as well as help them understand the system as it is. How to make money independently etc..

I'm not entirely sure what game you're playing where there is no 'honest play'. I got my Main MM IO'd (the only character I have nearly finished) by a long time spent marketing for IOs, lucky drops and the generosity of SG and channel mates, where he have a 'what goes around come around' mentality.

I have never farmed, and I have most certainly not exploited. The 'reality' you claim to exist is one I have never seen.

Also, thats not the impression I got from the details. I read as if the Vet rewards are staying, but you can now instead choose in which order you get them. You are not 'buying them' any more than a current subscriber is. You are simply able to pick the order.
The above is purely speculation, pending further details from the Devs. That is, frankly, all we can do; guess.

Sadly, your incoming gamer is not going to be so willing to do so. Hell, you're current average gamer isn't either. Time is money!
If an incoming gamer is not willing to invest time and effort in the system, then why should they get the rewards? You might as well just let them buy level 50s, fully unlocked Incarnates, and the keys to the City if you're going to do that. And, while I despise the limited unlock options for Incarnate stuff, I would still be 100% against having people simply buy it, because it totally defeats the point of the game.

This is a case of what people think they want, and what they actually should get.
People think they want it all now. A fully purpled level 50 that can one shot Tyrant. However, you give them that? And they will be bored nearly instantly. I found this with my re-levelling Invul/Enrg Tanker. I would like to get him to 50, but he's currently level 25. However, I recently ran a mission where nearly everyone else team-wiped, and I was tanking the entire room.
And I tanked it. They got back up, regrouped, and came hauled me out of the mound of beaten bodies. By the time he's level 50, he'll be a steel wall of doom. And it will be all the more satisfying for having put the effort into it.

See the craft-based game of Mining. Earning something is far more satisfying and, indeed, better for player retention and game longevity, than simply giving everyone everything for a cash fee.

You've pretty much just answered your own question, though.
Right now, I'd wager quite heavily that the majority of people don't delve too heavily into IOs, outside of maybe one or two main fifties, or franken slotting, which is usually only slightly superior to SOs and made to iron out certain kinks.

If fully purpled out IO characters become the new standard, then the Devs plain out would not be able to aim content at SOs anymore. If IOs were that easily available, and that prolific, then it would force Praetorian level difficulty and higher to be the new status quo. And that would be a bad thing.
  21. In CoH, the 'signature combinations' are the ones we make. Ours are the important characters. It's 110% fine that way, too.

Just because you find the current methods attainable/acceptable doesn't mean they are to me. That is why I wanted the option.

But hey, whatever. I made my suggestion, you guys hated it, fair enough. I personally hope they do it, but I guess based on reactions here, they won't.

While it's an understandable argument, it's not one unique to this game.
There have been games that gave, for want of a better word, 'Loot' to those who paid in hard cash. The one that springs to mind was one that sold weapon packs (Making it even more 'Unpleasant company' mark two) for cash.

Now, these were things you could earn and unlock in game. And, in that game, these things DID make a difference. High calibre snipers with a massive zoom were a HUGE improvement on the starter rifle. Same for every set of guns.
Now, yes, in that instance, having the loot didn't make you auto-win. A guns no good if you can't hit the broad side of a barn...from the inside.

CoH is not that sort of game, however. In both PvE and PvP its is purely the numbers that matter. Yes, there is some measure of skill in an MMO PvP arena, but far less than in, say, an FPS.
The Devs have the game balanced purely around SO builds. If this suggestion were to happen, then in all likelihood they would have to start considering the possibility of far greater numbers of purpled out builds, and entirely new ways to counter both that AND the reward factor. After all, what's the point in someone doing X, Y or Z if they've already brought the rewards for it? You may as well just let them buy a fully built level 50. Which kind of defeats the entire purpose of the game.

A certain Craft based mining game gets it dead on. An end result is worth more if you've earned it. Then it feels like an achievement, and is all the more worthwhile.
