Completely OT, but, dear god GA. I take a year from the forums and you're now over 41,000 posts?
I've now renamed my forum link to "GA's Forums" -

Quote:O.O, interesting guess.Jeez, that's a lot of goodness squeezed into one set. I'd guess Stone Spikes is that stomp--> single target stalagmites thing you see CoT using on occasion.
I'm going to have to try a fire/stone for the hot feet/mud pots/no end bar combination. -
Quote:I’m going to have to respectively disagree as I feel that “some defender combinations” are more difficult to solo than other ATs.I second this. It's a lot easier to level any other AT solo than it is to level a defender solo, including EATs here.
Even though my Emp/Dark can solo, that would be a little silly on my part. She shines on a team. However, when waiting for teams in PI, I’ve been known to run around the parking lot having a blast. My Cold/Archery is still just 28, so I definitely prefer to team her. Even after ROA at 38, I’ll probably still keep her team oriented. Same with Sonic.
Those are the sets I avoid solo'ing.
My Kin/Sonic is an offensive juggernaut. Soloing her is similar to soloing a blaster.
My Dark/Psi solos like a controller in the 20s, extremely safe if not a little slow.
My Dark/Rad solos at a little faster clip than my Mind/psi dominator.
My Rad/Elec was built for a Superteam and I'm not a big enough fan of /elec to respec her. I’ve enjoyed my husband’s Rad/Sonic enough that I’ll be rolling one soon.
Once my Dark/Traps corr hits 50, I plan to start focusing on my Storm/Dark. I plan to solo her all the way to 50. -

Quote:Since the OP is FA, there could be an advatange to using Kick as a mule. Kinetic crash does have -3 mag knockback protection.IF you're using it as a mule... boxing has access to the stun sets which gives you another purple option and it has a few nicer positional defense options, also.
Kick has access to the knockback sets, which I've never found myself wanting.
My DM/FA is actually a brute, so I do use boxing as part of my attack chain. It does amuse me to Whooooomp, whoooomp with my DM attacks followed by the plink of boxing. -
I'm going to have to agree that with Ice/Kin, arctic air is the better choice. Plus, you have the ability to put 3 procs in it.

Quote:To be fair, Scourge as an inherent causes Corruptor damage to increase much more than a little bit.Why is it so important that Corruptors do a bit more damage, but Defenders doing a bit more buffing/debuffing is inconsequential? The fact that the primary is Buff/Debuff should be a clue that the AT's main focus isn't about doing damage.
People also forget that defender values on leadership are higher than those for controllers or corruptors.
If I ever saw a team leader choosing a controller or corruptor over a defender for the reasons listed, that would be an excellent sign that its time for me to leave. Nothing in the game is that hard. -
Sorry, missed that. I'm going with the excuse that I took about a 6 month break from everything game related.
Quote:Link to the screenie?
*EDIT: Scratch that. Don't post anything that breaks NDA please. -
Saw a screenie that looks like doms will have stone melee, but the giant poo hands will be replaced with stone spears.

This is not a snarky question, but I keep reading thread after thread about how AE is ruining the game. Are there really that many new players to the game anymore?
I really don't know as I've played with the same group for years, but I can't even remember the last time I met someone new. Of course, I also don't play on the big two, so that could also contribute to my confusion. -
My DM/FA is so much fun I refuse to team with her. Having two end recovery powers that are also AoEs and a damage shield make her great for large groups. I really don't have any plans to fight AVs with her, but I've yet to run into an EB she couldn't handle.
I did make Tough a priority, I think I had it by the mid or late 20s. -

Devices (Cloak, Perception, ToHit) > Traps ( Hold, Debuff) - IMO
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you would find that you're in the minority with this one. Most people feel exactly the opposite.
I'd love to have Acid Mortar, FFG and Poison Trap on a Defender or Blaster. Devices. . . . Taser has an interesting animation. -
Just found the journal, what a fun read. It is interesting to read your perspective on the teams we've been on. (and I did giggle a little over your first description of Alice Slaughter).
Even more fun, I see that we've have another goddess in common as I also have a Vesta. My Isis character was the first I ever made in CoH, Vesta was my second.
Stay safe on this foggy Atlanta New Year's Day. -

Someone mentioned that possibly the blue tower is tied to LR's summoning of the EBs?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you move LR around while destroying the towers, he'll summon purple bosses.
If your tank walks up in LR's face and stands there in melee/taunt the whole time, he won't summon.
LR spawns larger groups beginning at about 20% health; these are all purple but composed of minions, lieuts, and bosses I believe.
I think LR spawns more mobs even faster if the blue tower is still intact, which reinforces a common belief that it's a recharge buff. That's anecdotal, though. I know the last team I was on where we didn't smash the blue tower, we kept getting overwhelmed by his low-health spawns. All of my more recent teams where we've destroyed all four towers, he's only spawned a few mobs at a time, at a very manageable rate.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you for the clarification. We were tankless, so, our ill/rad was tanking him most of the time and trying to move him away from us with me taking over in hibernate when she dropped.
I died so quickly from the summon spawns, I never even noticed their level. Our next round we will definitely be taking out the blue tower.
As a note though, Mako did not freak out once from my freezing rain. Granted, we were trying to keep him trapped in a corner at all times and honestly, he was our easiest AV of the 4. he went down so quickly I only applied it 3 times. Hopefully this opens up another defense debuff option for non-tactics heavy teams. (I have both it and tornado slotted for the debuff). -

Just read something in another thread and wanted to ask it here too.
Someone mentioned that possibly the blue tower is tied to LR's summoning of the EBs?
Our debuff heavy tankless team (1 rad defender, 2 rad trollers and a myself on a /storm troller) eventually gave up on the TF since we could not come up with a strategy for dealing with the huge wave of EBs that he summoned.
I've seen some people describe huge waves of EBs while others say it was simply a matter of controlling them. For those of you able to control the EBs, did you take out the blue tower? -
Is freezing rain still causing Mako to run?
If I've done my math correctly (please someone correct me if I'm wrong) tornado 3 slotted for defense debuff will bring a 24% debuff which doesn't even bring it to the base of freezing rain. Would be nice if I could use them both together on him. -
Ahh, thank you. That explains why on a normal team I've never encountered it.

I keep reading about people stacking multiple vengeances off what appears to be a single teammate. I thought this was stopped in either I7 or I8 (cant remember which one). What am I missing? -
I'm sure my family will try out Marvel Universe.
However, anytime I look at another game, I just can't get excited.
There is a reason that Cox was named one of the best games to get your girlfriend/wife into gaming by one of the top gaming magazines (I'm drawing a blank on which one at the moment). One of the reasons I have so many alts is that I love the costume designer. -
I decided to take a break from housecleaning and search my favorite artists to see if they had posted anything new. How wonderful to find my piece!
I adore the imps. They are my babies (the source of all my debt badges, but my babies). Love how you incorporated the portal.
When you first sent me the sketch, the facial expression reminded me of Bernini's piece, "The Ecstasy of St. Teresa". That is very special to me as my final sculpture in college was based on it.
You've done so much hard work, I can't wait to see the final version! -
Limitations made me spit my coffee!
Great pick-me-up at work, thanks. -
I didn't want to threadjack Rowr's post again. I want to thank each and every one of you that responded to my request to translate real people into superheroes. Thank you to Rowr for setting off the lightbulb in my head for a Christmas present for my husband (our family drawn as superheroes).
I feel like I won the lottery with the artist that will be creating this for me. I'm not sure if he will be sharing it with the board since they are not technically characters from the game. However, I know it will be amazing and hope that he will.
*fingers crossed* I have two other commissions in the works. However, after Christmas, I should be done digging through the sofas and pilfering the kid's piggy bank, and will hopefully be able to line up a few more.
The sheer talent of this community blows my mind and I appreciate the fact that you share your drawings with those of us that struggle at stick figures. -
Did you get sick of being told how cute you were? Seriously, that is about as adorable as a kid gets. I'd be that annoying aunt with red lipstick wanting to kiss your cheeks.
