My Dark/Dark Brute was no fun to solo and kinda fun to team with until she got SOs and Stamina. (This was long before IOs were added to the game.) She was lots more fun after that and I still play her.

Levels 1-22 aren't "Half the time you play" for any of my characters. Levels 1-22 are barely a memory and whatever happened then was absolutely worth getting through to make it to the higher levels and have even more fun.
    QFT.

A few years ago I used to agree with the "there's no endgame in CoX" sentiments I still seeing passed around.

Now, a few of my 50s now account for at least half of my playtime. The one I enjoy playing the most was almost deleted once in her teens and once in her 20s because she was so painful (a portion of that was due to the player more than the character).

I don't think we give the devs enough credit for continually coming up with new, fun ways to play our 50s without ruining the game for those players who retire their chracter at 50.
  2. No, Protector is correct. There are only five actual players on Triumph, which each have 331 accounts. So, apparently 4 out of the 5 decided to take it to 332.

The reason it was confusing is because the line in the patch notes say:

"Exemplars will now earn XP and a level capped person will get XP converted into influence like exemplars used to."

So.... what's the difference between an "exemplared" person and a "level capped" person? Once you're exemplared down, aren't you by DEFINITION level capped to the level of the person owning the mission?

    I is confuzzled.
Even though others have answered, we had someone ding 50 on our Posi> Too funny.

SGs are nice and definitely have a place, I'm just not sure it's as strong of a need as it used to be.
You have a good point. Most of my characters are in personal SGs but are still members of the original SG channel and coalition channels. Items like zone portals, etc. are no longer needed nearly as much as personal storage.

I still see some definitely advantages for a new player until they learn the ropes.

Sorry, the people that want to play on the "large population servers" have the ability to transfer. Many did when that option opened up.

Some of us keep buying more slots on the smaller population servers or occasionally deleting stale characters to roll new ones.

For me, it's not about the lag (lord knows, I continue to play on the east coast servers, so I must be able to tolerate it). It's about the general community on the smaller servers.

Then, there's the little things like actually being able to find presents to click during the winter events, etc.

Glad to see that most of the advise the OP received was helpful (Welcome to the game!)

Glad to also see that my suspicions about the playstyle of some people were also confirmed.

To the OP - you'll find that most people that play care more about what type of teammate you are than what your AT/powersets are. People that are pleasant, have a sense of humor and team spirit and are willing to ask questions usually find a niche of friends quite quickly.

I'd also recommend, if possible, that you find an active SG. SGs usually have the attitude of "bring whatever" for anything but the most extreme facets of the game.

Can you expand on that point? Are you talking about the people that wanted all exp removed because then only people that cared about creativity would play?

Or are you referring to those of us that stated that dev created content is not superior to AE created content?

I can only answer for myself. I'm the former and yes, I'm still in the AE. I rolled a new character today. I was not doing the same old "run around atlas park" again, so I used the AE today. I played a very enjoyable arc that a friend created specifically for low level characters with an excellent story.

I don’t participate in PUG TF’s but I always try to provide an answer to any tell, so I’ve given this excuse. I just don't want to be locked into a time frame with people I don't know.

As far as the question about this happening post I16, unless my 50 needs the badge or the merits, I’d want to run a TF on a non-50 for the experience. It was a lot of fun to have my cold defender go from 28 to 30 running Posi and then Synapse this weekend.

Pffffffffffft, 'cause "Tatmia 2", "Tatmia the 2nd" or "Liberty Tatmia" are so much more original than just having "Tatmia" on each server.

Oh *****, you're from New Zealand. Don't tell Stille that or she'll start voting for your server in the hopes you'll adopt her (2 summers ago she spent a month in Australia and New Zealand and keeps trying to figure out a way to move to New Zealand). Rotten POS even thinks it's funny to sneak in Marmite/Vegamite into my food, joke never gets old with her.
  21. One of those low postcount voters is my husband - he's lurked since 2006 (rarely types in game either) and has been forced into
    voting.

GA can verify that Stille is an actual person too - who might or might not have eyerolled at me over this.

Here's hoping that most of you are still having fun - I enjoyed seeing Protector rallying together last night.
  22. Protector - You might have jello cornered, but we have cake and pie and are willing to share it.

Plus it might look cool when combined w/ the Rocket Boots costume piece, if it looks like the mayhem mission Raptor Pack.
Logging out in Grandville for 21 days gives you a raptor pack through your dayjob.

You need to make sure that you step far enough away from the ferry (you can look at your buffs to see if you're in the proper dayjob location).

Yikes, and I"m on Protector right now, trying to drum up the cash on a decently expensive build.

On the plus Side, Jello-shooters just reminded me that it was time to vote
