Quote:I wouldn't trust their sources Cox just won a shiny new award from Beckett MMORPG AND they ironically beat out CO. Also if it's dying why would they push for i19? I doubt it would die anytime soon. At least for another 1.5 years. But someone in Broadcast the other night said the game was dying, and would be shut down soon - who should I believe?

Quote:Here you go good sir.Wait, what? Where did you hear this? Is there some thread I'm missing somewhere? Because this is a set I've been dying for for ages.
(there are other new powersets "on the whiteboard" that will make it into future expansions, including staff use )
You can find that discussed at 12:22 on this site.

Wait...I bet Assassin's Strike for Kinetic Melee looks AWESOME. :3

Quote:Maybe they will treat it somewhat like Patron Power Pools? But with a twist? *scratches beard* I can't wait actually...and here I was thinking that GR was going to be hard to meet up to/Top...That may change my mind a bit, I'll confess. To think that other factors beyond XP would give the levels.
However, from observing the community, I can't see that too horribly likely to happen. People clamor about Taskforces as it is, hating the fact that they can't activate it alone, listening to the people who solo AVs for sport, etc etc.
I cannot imagine the community hearing that 10 'levels' of content will be restricted to things requiring a team/group to complete. It just doesn't sit well in consistency, especially on lower-population servers like Guardian, where I can imagine people demanding that the requirements be pushed back because of the lack of availability of a team. -
Quote:Who knwos. I was thinking along the lines of what you said. Earning Badges or accolades.I wonder if the Incarnate lvls will be more tied into completion badges than XP itself. Watching the presentation the Devs mentioned more Zone events tied into the Incarnate system. So say complete X number of arcs, X number of TFs/SFs and X number of Zone events to get your first incarnate level.
-
Indeed, I think you would obtain your level by going through a Arc or two. Nothing more, nothing less.

For future reference Bey...after seeing a few Fire/Thorn's on team...you might want to dip in the fighting pool LOL.
They are fun but VERY aggro heavy. -
Quote:I am the same way Snowzone...but I have a feeling that this primary might be my breaking point. I think Elec/FF would be awesome...I couldn't do Elec/Emp though, due to me and empathy not getting along well.I personally only like to use each primary and secondary once. The only secondaries I have yet to use are Force Fields and Empathy.
I can see myself rolling a Elec/Storm and a Elec/Rad. As far as Redside is concerned I would just HAVE to roll Elec/Elec as well as Elec/Fire or Elec/Thorn.
I guess I always had a soft spot for electricity/water/wind powers. -
Thanks Bass!
Well Mental I don't know about you but I do know that you don't know, that wou would like to know that an Elec/Storm is a MUST! be it FoTM or not. :P Also Elec/Rad would mesh well. Elec/Kin, Elec/Cold.... -
Sadly I have watched that video over 5 times now.

Awesome! Some of the animations looked like they were plucked right out of the matrix or any awesome kung fu movie. It has a very *use the force* feel to it. Also it reminds me of a monk/fighter chi guy. hrmm. All I have to say is the better include new slots! I know they probably will, but I need to make sure b/c I am going to roll WAY more toons with these new sets.
I'm glad the devs are fellow nerds even though I complain about DP the Equilibrium/Bullet Proof Monk made me Squee. -
*foams at mouth* ok I am pre-purchasing now...besides I want demon summoning and even though I loathe MM's I love me some different elemental demons!
-
Oh Castle I love you, want me to fix you bacon?

Quote:Pilgrim what lvl did you drop the toon? Honestly At 39 or 40 your dmg should be teh uberz...just the recharge in oil slick can be a bit...tough.Well, let me explain my background a bit. When I tried TA/Archery on my Defender, I gave up at SO levels as he could not drop foes very fast, nor was I all that impressed with his debuffs at that point. I knew that the TA part of things would get better, but not the damage.
Hence my wondering about the setup for a Corrupter. I really would like an Archery/TA character, but Defenders just don't mesh with me well (I like Tanks, so I don't have to do uber damage... but I do want to do a decent amount of damage to solo with if needed). But perhaps Scourge does not make that much of a difference?
I could maybe try an Archery/Traps Corrupter (I have an Arch/Devices Blaster that I find fun), but I dunno. Yeah, I could try rolling both, but I like to avoid re-rolling if I can avoid it. I also have limited slot spaces on the servers I like to play on. -
Quote:I think I mixed Trickshooter and Showstealer together. For some reason that pic is one of my favorites lol.Trickshooter*
And d'awww *blush*
But to the question, I can't really compare TA/A to A/TA, as my Defender got to 50 a long, long time ago in the dark days of TA at its release. But the trip to 50 on my A/TA Corruptor was very frustrating.
Archery was a fairly solid set, as anyone might expect, but it just didn't make up for the lower debuff values and shorter controls of the Corruptor's version of Trick Arrow. I expect that if you used it with a Primary that added on more debuff or control, like Dark or Ice, it would be better. -

Quote:Let me do a quick check again.Hmm, I had asked about that before (fulcrum breaking terror), somebody said it didn't.
EDIT: IT does aggro them, Necro, I think the only way around it if they are sleep. If they are sleep it doesn't aggro them.
So it seems it might be in my best interest to go the defender route. Even though I would dish out less damage and no scourge. Still, again Fire Kins Have no mitigation so I should suck it up as well...it's not like I would have a problem finding teams anyway heh. -
Quote:Hopefully we can get Lumina or trickshow in here ot answer that one. I saw him in PI today and the way he farmed the PI protector put me in awe...I forgot he was a defender!Question for the archers out there. I tried a TA/Archery Defender, and quit out... I just was too frustrated over the low damage. How does it compare for a Corrupter? It looks like the base damage is the same, but does Scourge, etc., make up for it? I would like to make a TA/Archery character work, so I'm hoping it will fly.

Quote:Good point, Fulcrum aggros baddies correct? I can't remember. How bout using stealth + SS or stealth IO to get into position followed by invoke panic from the presence pool before firing fulcrum shift and RoA?
EDIT: Oh yeah, pissed em off alright! Poor Hellions navah had a chance! > : D -
Quote:Indeed well I am set on Arch/kin anyway just b/c I have yet to see one on red side. I've only seen Kin/Arch on Blue. I will go fire eventually I hate everything about fire b/c it's just not who I am lol. I do know though that Fire's High Dmg and Sexy Aoe's is great for taunting for your team...if only a cadaver could hold aggro :P.Fire/Kin will grab more aggro because it's doing more damage. Usually with RoA the first tick will land, stuff will get mad, then the rest of the ticks land and stuff dies.
But if you're playing with Brutes who will have stuff aggroed on them, it's more or less a wash.
The difference between fire/kin and archery/kin is small, but it is there. The deciding factor is whether that difference matters enough to you to influence what you make. Fire/Kin and Archery/Kin will both be AoE and team buffing monsters. With either primary you're going to be putting out huge AoE damage, I'd say make whichever appeals to you more.
