Quote:/fire...fragile but amazing. Spin + Burn is amazing.i really wanna give claws a shot but i'm torn on what secondary to pick. i know that /wp is nice. but i have a dm/ em/ and ss/ willpower brute. but that being said, i won't rule /wp out if it'll make for more fun. i was kinda thinking of a secondary with a nice damage aura since i know claws could run it well with it's low endurance usage.
so that leaves /elec, /fire, and /dark. dark is the more complicated one i know, and electric gives a nice recharge bonus, but fire with it's new changes seems tempting too.
anyone have experience with any of these? -

Nah, he at one time loved the class and then got burnt...and burnt hard. Most people eventually bounce back from that but he didn't. I know myself I am still hesistant to play Khelds and stormies b/c I've been harassed and kicked off teams due to my KB....
Still though, I'm not stirring up trouble. -
Quote:That's what I was thinking. Only for a few seconds maybe 10.Giving Flash Arrow a stupidly high -to hit that lasted a stupidly short ammount of time would be interesting. Literally a blinding flash that would make foes miss everything, but easily recovered from. Something like 5 seconds for example.
I'm thinking "Defensive Build-Up" like MoG is now. -
Oh, lol. Sorry Z. Well, to be honest I don't know where to start...if you want to go by the cottage rule you could add some nice DOT dmg to Acid Arrow...but to me the set needs to be looked at and tweaked. Now I'm no TA expert but the set needs something that can mitigate dmg from getting to the caster. This will help with Alphas and soloing. Every other set has one except for TA.
Yes it has Oil Slick and EMP arrow but they are late blooming and Oil slick is unreliable compared to powers like Ice slick.
Maybe A sleep patch in Poison Gas Arrow much like the sleep in Static Field? Maybe A momentary hold in Glue Arrow much like Poison Trap. Or you could really mix it up and give flash arrow a very high -To Hit. -

Quote:Just echoing what Alien One and Schis...I remember when I had a notebook full of builds that I would do at work and then a friend told me about mids...I was hesitan at first but now I can't imagine making a build w/o it...Thank you ^___^.This.
Thank you Ston3y.
Mids' has been a huge help in designing builds over the years, and i really appreciate all the work put into it by you and everyone else involved. It really says something about that quality of the community that a free utility like Mids' exists at all. -
On a fully purpled out build you can get Melt Armor on a 60 recharge...that's quite tempting. Normally I don't take that power either but...my dom already has a lot of recharge on him...

Thanks Stony take care and see you in game!

Seriously Doms have the Best Picks out of all the red side AT's. Every single APP set is worth it!
I tried Fire Mastery on my plant/fire dom and I think I made this REALLY evil laughter when I used Fireball and RoF...it kinda scared me...I sounded like the wicked witch of the west lol.
Sleet is just plain silly and with some Doms it's a GODsend...esp if you are using a Control Primary that is light on control like Fire/ and Gravity/. -
My Plant/Fire is moving over ONLY b/c he's a Fir. He would feel safe with his 'lantern brothers ^_^. With the New APP he's deadly...I mean seriously Rain of Fire and Fireball! WOOOweee!

Krimson it's very viable and worth your time. I have a lvl 49 Ice/Dark and he is amazing. I actually play him like a ranged stalker/debuffer. Using Dark to the fullest and throwing Darkest Night on the boss while taking out mobs one by one with my powerful St attacks.
Also nothing can really stand in your way if your nuke is up. Tar Path+Ice Storm+Blizzard is just sick. Even Purple con mobs will not stand a chance.
On a lvl 50 if you use Aim+Ice Storm+Blizzard you're looking at 1500 dmg...that's not even counting other factors like Tar Patch and Frost Breath and Scourge! -
I am being patient...but I am also on the edge of my seat! blarghgghwaarrgarbll.

The set has a little bit of everything...yet control wise it meets in the middle of the road. It's a VERY active Control set and it plays very different than most sets. you have to be very active if you want to play safe. None of that hit the AOE Hold and just gravy train it all the way.
My playstyle goes as follows...and so far when I play this way I actually survive lol.
1. Use the confuse.
2. If you're able to move around a corner do so and then use the sleep path on 'em. If not use the KD power then the sleep patch quickly after.
3. Use the KD power and confuse power whenever it comes up...the same thing goes for the sleep. The Immob def helps keep the mob in one spot...this may not seem necessary but it is a god send for certain mobs(werewolves).
4. You should be in the middle of the mob by now with the aura running. Again keep hitting those key powers and throw a hold out to keep the bosses and troublesome ones in check.
Sorry that was so crude lol.
It's a very busy set much like mind. I find out the best sets to mix with Elec/ on a dom is anything that has a bit of aoe or pbaoe so...Thorns, Earth, Ice, Psi. Fire is ok and is very nice if you pick up Rain of Fire.
To be perfectly honest with you guys if you use the regular combo and you mix it with SLEET your control issues go out the window.
EDIT: Also to pick up where Ketch left off about the Gremlins...damage wise they are ok and sometimes they save your bacon with all the KD they dish out but man aggro wise...they are NUTS! They make the imps look like saints!
They will aggro any close by mobs and follow the mob almost halfway to the end of the map lmao. On teams you should make sure you keep an eye out on them. -
Quote:To each their own I guess , I have taken 5 MM's on 30's EB arcs and my mercs have killed them just as fast, at no time did I feel gimped.
Question: Do most of the people yelling fire! have mercs above 32? I get the fealing most have played them to say 15 or 20 and quit, you cannot judge a MM set untill 32 some mature slower
I didn't say they were gimped just a bit under performing. I actually don't mind their damage and I know exactly what they are capable of I just think their controls need to be looked at b/c it's on a extremely long timer. -

Plant/Ice is also a fun combo.

Quote:When I'm on a team and the mob is only white or yellow con I avoid using AS unless we're fighting a boss or higher. The main issue I have with Stalkers is that their playstyle feels very... odd to me.
Maybe it's because I have no idea how to play one... but here's the issue.
Most teams aren't built around stealth. They're built around "go in, take out that group of mobs, move on."
Stalkers are built around sneaking ahead, scoping out a target, and assassinating them. Solo, that works fine. Solo Stalkers tend to be able to take the alphas of their current SRSLY Settings, and can take out enemies at their leisure.
Team play, however... When I played a stalker, I would try to set up an assassin's strike, only for it not to go off in time (or at all, sometimes). By the time it did go off, the fight was nearly over because I had spend 10 seconds performing one attack while everyone else was going all out.
The issue is in the timing. If you launch your strike before the team can gain aggro, you take the alpha with your low HP and weak Defenses.
If you wait too long, you land one hit and the fight is over.
Getting the timing right requires planning with your team. Which, on a pug...
Ugh.
Eventually I got frustrated and made a Brute. Stalker just isn't for me.
I, for example let the MM or brute grab the aggro and then I dive in. Instead of you trying to use your AS Night Errant you should use you most highest damaging attack that can crit. If you're in the fray with your teammates most likely you will crit and kill the baddie anyway(especially if you used build up). From there you just scap until that power is up again and then you look for something to kill, hit Placate, and then BAM! Rinse and Repeat!
If you're playing Spines or Elec you can put out some NASTY dmg when you're next to your buddies on team and if you are single target oriented you are still striking down most things in one or two hits!
That's not the concrete word on how to play them but it's how I like to do it ^_^. -
Quote:We have to keep the subject fresh! The devs listen and if we keep discussing it and stressing our opinions and come up with some excellent suggestions and feedback maybe they will give Mercs some love! ...what? I am trying to be positive! lolI can't believe I am back to CoV again!!! lol
And I can't believe we are still talking about this subject. Merc is my most favorite MM and I while Spec-Op got a nice buff by cycling Snipe in normal attack chain, Merc still needs a bit more love (but I still think Ninja needs more).
I'll repeat:
1. Improve Serum: At least include Psionic resistance and/or increase duration. The damage buff part is so little that it doesn't matter.
2. Reduce Spec-Op's recharge time on two aoe control powers by 20% to 25%.
3. If reducing the recharge time is not possible for whatever reason, maybe the dev can add some damage to it so at least Spec-Op has better "burst" aoe damage.
4. I still don't know what the real use of stealth mode in Spec-Op. Theme-wise, it matches but utility-wise, it's pretty weak. Why can't they do Stealth Strike like the enemy does? That will be perfect IMO.
5. I would like to see Bean Bag instead of Riflebutt but I know that's too powerful (I still want to bring it up though) -
Quote:Yes Z feed him to the Hydra :P. Oh and wait...the Black Scorpion Pets still factor in with the Stalkers inherent? I thought they changed that? Hrmm, if not very interesting...Intriguingly, a few people have reported that it actually isn't hard capped. A while back some people were suggesting Stalkers take the Black Scorpion pool since he comes with three pets specifically due to this. Plus, Vigilance before I17 took pets into account so it's entirely possible the crit buff is taking pets into account.

Test Rat what happened to you? At first you were defending stalkers and now've changed sides
