Quote:Ice (In my opinion) can be hard as your first Powerset. I remember when I started playing I was told by many to re-roll and that Ice didn't put out good dmg by any means. Also if you are bad at slotting correctly Ice can be quite a burden, it uses up a lot of end if you're not careful.I don't really see what the issue is people have with Ice. It has great single target damage, and decent AoE even pre-blizzard, if you don't skip Frost Breath.
Even currently amongst new players most see ice as "weak" and that it lacks aoe so they normally go for fire. I for one love the set and once I found a SG to teach me the ropes my toon hit 50 in a mater of weeks. -

I'm just posting here as a mental note for myself that after I get off work I will unsubscribe to this thread lol. It's a trap waiting to happen!

It's a good heal...if you have like 8 dudes around you lol.
-
I love using tornado on AV's, Hero's, GM all the big nasty critters the dmg it does to them is...insane.
-
Thanks Bill. It's such an awesome set on Brutes that sometimes my happiness turns into paranoia.
-
I think we should stop talking about how awesome claws is on Brutes. IT makes me nervous.
-
My lvl 41 Rad/Fire Blaster used burn and it dealt 107.55 dmg to him.
-
YES!!! O God Yes! LOL
In Beta I made a Claws/Fire I remember using follow up plus Fiery Embrace + Spin/Burn with full Fury...I actually fell out of my chair convulsing and foaming at the mouth. It was just that awesome. -
You are right though...Body Mastery seems more appealing then Weapon Mastery due o all that awesome.
-
I admit my stalkers love the fact that you can select explosive shuriken now.

Ah, ok thanks for clearing that up guys cuz' I was like whut? LOL

Quote:Suggested? I didn't suggest anything I just told you what certain powers do. I WOULD suggest though that you download Mids. It would save you the trouble of leveling up a toon that far only to find out it's not what you expected. I think Pain is fine as it is and it's VERY different from Thermal. If you think it's much like thermal that again I have to say no. Pain does it's own thing and Thermal does it's own...Pain is not a mesh of Empathy and Thermal it may seem like that at first glance but it's not the case. *shrug*Yah now that I am lvl 32 since I last asked what to roll with electric.... Empathy does not share more similarities of Pain than suggested. It's not horrible but I would have just done Thermal if I knew it was going to be like this. Just not what I hoped it would turn out to be with those Aura's it has later in secondary.
bah....now to roll a Electric Dom! -
Not at all my friend. Pain would be called Aggressive support to say the least. Unlike Empathy with Pain you directly benefit from using your abilities. Most of the heals Up your dmg and the Rez gives the caster amazing To Hit, Recharge, Dmg and Recovery! also Anguishing Cry Debuffs, Wop Provides all players in your area with up to 17 percent of resistance...Pain and Empathy play very differently. It's very in your face. I have a Fire/Pain and she loves using her heals so she can get buffed with sick dmg as she lobs a fireball at the next mob.

Awesome, I was about to ask the same question.

Ah that's an issue that to be honest only comes up in praetoria.

I admit after leveling up my stormie I am still butt hurt about using KB in fear of getting kicked but I still don't let that stop me from enjoying certain sets. I admit it is weird for elec control to be so melee oriented...I might just go back to trying out an elec/storm corr...even though I hate elec blast with a passion lol.
-
Well said, all of those issues you just mentioned I agree with and have discussed with others over and over again...but for some reason I keep thinking that the devs haven't fixed the set as of yet due to the work that would go into tweaking most of the powers.
Sometimes out of desperation I feel that it would be easier for them to look at a few powers and start anew...but in all actuality maybe that would actually be more laborious then the first option! Ugh!
EDIT: Even though TA has been discussed time and time again I feel that it's my duty to not even rest until the Set is worked on heh. When I first started playing about 2.5 years ago (6 months of trial accounts lolz) I wanted Stalkers, Doms, TA, MA and Ice melee ported to another AT. Looks like I got half of my wish list checked off ^_^. -
Elec control is one of those control sets in which you actually have to know what you are doing as well so to some who try it out first it can seem weak but it's rather awesome! I just Wish ti worked well with storm...*SIGH*

No offense to anyone but I think for this set to be up to par with the other sets Castle would have to- no, I think it's necessary to actually break the cottage rule to align the set up to the level of the others.

Quote:I agree after the changes to Burn...in fact I am scared to talk about it to much! I don't want it to be noticed! lolClaws/Elec and Claws/Fire would be my picks. Claws/Elec has a bit more "roundedness", with all their resists, but don't be fooled by them necessarily being *tougher* then Claws/Fire. The lack of a reliable self heal means that Elec can be put down just as fast as fire. What Elec *does* have over fire is pretty much unbeatable exotic resistances, and unlimited endurance.
That said, Fire has damage. Lots and lots of damage.
So in summary..
Claws/Elec- Well rounded defenses, unlimited endurance, a real Tier-9.
Claws/Fire- Damage juggernaut.
