Ooh but they should take away all the KB...or at least keep 1 kb power. It would be cool if you would switch between PB and WS pets.
-
I think they need to buff Fade and Soul Absop. to compensate for the loss of FS lol.
-
Here's my take on it.
1. Chilblain- Fine, leave it as is.
2. Block of Ice- Fine, leave it as it
3. Frostbite- Remove the -kb on the power.
4. Arctic Air- Fine, leave it as is.
5. Shiver- Make it a Neurotoxic Breath Clone but with a guaranteed Special or a 75-90% chance Special. The special should be "Target Held for 2 seconds" BUT you can slot holds in it so you have the potential to max it out for 4 or 5 seconds or greater. This will make Shiver Perfect for Alphas Stoppers and it should give you enough time to let AA, Glacier or Ice Slick do its job. If someone would complain that this is OP then you could balance the power out by reducing the values of the slow and -Recharge in the power.
6. Ice Slick- Fine, leave as is.
6. Flash Freeze- Much like many of you have said. Take out the damage and make it a Static Field Clone.
7. Glacier- Fine, leave as is.
8. Jack Frost- This dude is PERFECT! Thank you Arbiter Hawk! SCREEEEE!!! <---Hawk Scream attempt. lol I ended up sounding like an Arachnoid lol. -
I like /Dark but I personally feel that it doesn't mix with the set as much as I wanted it to. Instead of Dark/Dark I'm going for Dark/Thorns.
-
I love Recharge...and the new changes to Gravity are tasty...so I would recommend spiritual.

I just go my Fire/Poison Corr to lvl 50...now the incarnate fun/IO fun begins...he will be a force to be reckoned with once I get Ageless.

Quote:LOL, you should give Thorny Assault a chance! Make a toon on beta and get a level bump! They are really fun and deadly...and Thorny Assault has everything Spines Lack! :P (Yes I am trying to convert you)Great thread topic !
Devices : I had an Energy-Device blaster to 47 once, deleted and remade because I hated the whole idea that I only used 3 powers from the secondary, and one of them was forced to take, or else I would have skipped.
ALL MASTERMINDS : Great concept, terrible implemention. Cannot stand grouping with them either. Its very annoying having to push and shove your way through a mass of pets to keep up with the lead tank. Have actually had to sit in a tunnel and miss an entire battle because the 3 MM pet hoard in our group would not let me pass.
Energy Melee, Electric Control : Love the sets, cannot stand the noise they make.
Illusion Control : not enough control and too many pets.
Peacebringer and Warshades : Wanted to love them, but hate Quantums with a PASSION
Spines, Thorny Assault : pukey green particles, spikes and thorns, just not my style, even though I like plant control alot, go figure
Any powerset or Power that overshadows my costume : Ice Armor, Stone Armor etc..
Not too keen on Stalkers, Energy Aura, Dark Armor, either
Most weapon sets : Loved weapon sets in the begining, but find less interest in them these days, so been thinking of adding them all to the don't bother pile. But I love Shields :/ and have high hopes for Staff Melee.
Stone Melee, Earth Assault : Big Hammers, no thanks. Purchased Titan Weapons on a whim and then realized it was not for me either.
Sorry, long list, but after 7 years, I have played most everything enough to determine if it will ever get played again. -
Quote:It's cool. I normally roll sets anyway regardless of what others say but I also understood where you were coming from and I didn't want a new poster to see my post and think automatically "a set is bad because Tater and a few others said so". I wanted to give my feedback to others to explain more about why I feel the way that I do. So in a way it all worked outSorry if I came off sounding aggessive. My focus was not on you despite quoting you, but more to try and avoid more of the common these power suck myths I see popping up more and more lately.
Once again no attack was meant and I do apologize if I came off to personal..

Quote:Wow...amazing quote! There is no stronger shield than a rigid and utterly inflexible 'mind'. He is, suffice to say, well prepared.
The Doctor: "You know the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering." -
New Dark Age...man brotha I hope you have your Armor on and Shield ready haha!

Quote:Yeah, after looking at all of them I ended up with two choices Cimeroran Radial Superior Ally or Longbow Radial Superior Ally. Both seem like great choices and I know those damn Immunes Surgeons can heal like no other! If you're looking for straight healing, Longbow Radial provides the most amount of green numbers - one is a single target heal that unfortunately only targets the pet's owner, and the other is Healing Aura every 6 seconds or thereabouts. Before Keyes was neutered it was my go-to choice as far as Lore goes.
T4 Longbows also have massive -regen available to them as well. -

Quote:Ah, I guess I asked to be attacked when I posted in this thread. I thought this thread was more on the lines of what would you never use again not what I would never play.PB KB is awesome, like all KB. the fact thier human form is the true superman build of this game is far to often ignored among the many wannabes in the tank/brute/ scrapper ATs.
DP is true more flash then effect, so are a lot of sets if people really knew the truth. one of the best blasters I know next to myself is a DP blaster. Its always more how you use what you have, then the base power of what you have.
My blaster with no equal is a psi/ment/force blaster. NOTHING is strong to psi is the real truth. When compared to the number of mobs that are strong against LoLethal dmg, NewbFire dmg, energy dmg, neg nrg dmg well it just is not as true as people think tha psi has mobs strong to it. Most so called strong psi res mobs only hit around 40%, compared to mobs that hit 80% when strong to any of the other much more common types.
Borrowing from the worst line in comic movie history. " What happens to a tin can hit by a psi tornado? The same thing that happens to everything else!" Cheesy as sin but no less true.
Best troller I known since year one is Grav. Again its not how powerful its baseline but the person behind the build that matters most.
Spine/Fire farm builds: Nuff said there I think.
MM: My only gripe with them has always been the lack of classic cox lore based vil groups. Banished Pantheon or Vahz over necromancer, Tsoo or Knives of artemis over ninja, crey or malta over soldiers. Etc etc etc.... That is the only reason I have never really enjoyed nor lvld up an MM very high. demon has been tempting since they retconned that into infernal and the like making it really the only MM set with a logical niche in the games lore. The rest are just too generic for me to care.
DP-Is a nice middle of the road set but I expected a little more out of it. It can be amazing when proc'd out but I think it needs a little more damage added to it. I have a DP/Kin that can really just devastate mobs but I consider DP a lot like Archery: A Great set, but without certain powers it can make leveling tough and sluggish. For me Archery and Dp didn’t truly click until HoB and RoA...now keep in mind this is just my opinion BUT I see this echoed a lot in game and on the Forums. You may be right about DP but I can't help the way I feel about things.
Psi Blast- I made a Psi/Nrg Blaster and I simply LOVED him but I was tired of faceplanting from certain mobs that would shake off my attacks...now keep in mind that they have buffed Psi Blast since then but I'm going on how I feel about the set when I played it. The immob was slow traveling and the activation took forever. A lot of the time critters would already be in my face before the immob/Kb hits. My feelings have nothing to do with what others say about Psi...it comes from what I have experienced. Maybe I should take another swing at it since things have changed *shrug* it will be a while since it left a bad taste in my mouth.
Gravity is NOT the best control set in the game no matter how you look at it sorry. I love the idea of the set; I love Wormhole and Singy but never again (until the buff in beta hits heh, heh). The slow damage, the long activations you get stuck in, the long wait for wormhole, the many flaws of wormhole, it's all a bit rough. I must admit one thing though; Gravity has the Best pet in the game hands down. Singy is a force to be reckoned with he can hang with big mobs, EBs, Av's and even GMs and not break a sweat.
Spines is amazing ONCE you get it to 50. Have you tried leveling a spines? You chain is pretty anemic and only the most devoted can level one without wanting to rip out their hair. -
Well with my Fire/Poison Corr I guess I'm looking for healing with a little bit of defense or clearmind buffs. Yeah, I think my best bet is to go hunting around on paragon Wiki. Thanks for the assistance guys.
-
Peacebringers- To much kb for me
Dual Pistols- Not enough oomph. It lacks the damage compared ot the animation times
Psychic Blast- It felt amazing on most baddies but if you run into a PSi resistant baddie you are pretty much screwed.
Gravity (Pre Buff)- Obvious reasons
Spines- It take forever for you to get a decent chain going. No thanks.
Masterminds- I wanted to feel more like a Summoner but The only sets that give me that feel I think is Thugs, Demons, Illusion and Plant. -
Allo! I haven't dabbled on the non-damage end of the Lore Pet spectrum in quite some time. I've searched on the forums for a while only to end up empty handed. Could any of my fellow posters assist me in my decision to pick an excellent Buff/Healing Lore Pet? The last time I checked before the new Lore pets hit an issue ago Clockwork was the wisest choice.
Oh, and this pet choice if for a Squishy corruptor that is going Ageless for it's Destiny if that helps any. -
That's a shame Oathbound because I could think of some nice combos if the phase trick worked! I would actually take DS!
Oh and yes that's the Tier 9 Pet for Dark Control! -
Quote:This is sig worthy people. SIG WORTHY.Not only that, I'd go to the new and improved tailor and choose 'healing aura' as my aura so I'll always be rocking it like a boss without needing to click stupid buttons!
That would be amazing actually...I love plant ANYTHING in video games or comics. -
Quote:I've heard the gossip about that! Shoot, there goes my sneaky phasing plans! It doesn't seem to work with the temp power Ethereal Shift.
However, I have noticed a few times that PA has been damaged by various things in iTrials. One of them, IIRC, was the explosion from Lambda crates. There may have been something in the UG that was capable of hitting them too. -
Quote:Azu, the -11 resistance is not much...if he wanted to go that route then he should just go Ice. Unslotted Melt sits at a whopping 200 seconds while Fireball sits at 32 and you can get it to 10 seconds with the above recharge. I would say the best defense or debuff is killing them. Clearly Fireball and RoF would easily compensate for the small -11 resistance debuff. Yes it's uses up a lot of end but with the proper slotting and a small dependance on consume he will be fine. If he goes the Incarnate route he could get even more reckless. I farm only with my Plant/Fire and he doesn't need to use Fire Shield to stay alive ( loves aid self though hehe). There's nothing else he can use to debuff enemies with. It's multiplicative in teams and fire ball is inferior to RoF. I'd take melt armor before fire ball (I barely can afford the end even with consume). On my permadom build for earth/fire/fire it's up every 60s, or about every 2nd spawn.
So you have Melt Armor with a small radius of only 10, on a 200 second timer that can only debuff mobs by -11% compared to Fireball and RoF that deal almost 500 points of damage unslotted when buffed by embrace of Fire.
When you have a /Fire dom it's hard NOT to go with the Fire APP I think.
My Perma Plant/Fire with all his IO's and incarni lovin' can dish out 3,194 pts of damage in 60 seconds just using RoF and Fireball and that's up every spawn. That's debuffing as well...in an aggressive way :P
God help him if he picked up ageless! -
I could get all funky with this and pick up Phase shift, and just phase out when I shift the baddies so I can hurt them.
This should work. I tested it out a few months ago. I phased out and was able to actually buff Phantom Army...it was wild. -
Nah, keep the Fire APP it synergizes well with Embrace of Fire I say. Drop Melt Armor and switch it with Rain of Fire. I would also drop recall friend and flurry...Also there's no need for you to use Burnout. Even if you kept Melt Armor and use burnout to recharge the power the debuff of Melt Armor is not worth losing the power picks. What do you go for Transportation wise? Superspeed, Super Jump, Teleport?

I'll wait till Beta hits before I decide to have another tantrum LOL.
