That's like saying With Ice Slick Jack Frost is fine! Obviously that wasn't the case....

    *sigh*
  3. Also VG should function like Hurricane. Debuffing mobs for a few seconds after the power is shut off for a safe Oh crap power.

Yeah I agree. Half the time when I play my Elec/Rad controller I don't even summon them, cause they mess up my herding/placement and wake up mobs too much.
Bahhh, yeah, yeah you made a good recommendation lol. My favorite part about the combo is watching the the forcefeedback proc light up almost every mob. *grin*

Yeah, I'm sorry guys but you're blowing things way out of proportion. Yes the dog howls all the time, yes the dark barks all the time but at least he does his job and can survive a huge mob.

You guys are acting like he's the worse pet in the entire game YET! You think that Gremlins are fine! How lol. Do I or you live in an alternate dimension? That a pet that makes noise but actually does it's job is worse than Two pets who can't survive an alpha for longer than 3 seconds in?
  5. Screw the wolf he's fine with me...Gremlins I think is the WORST pet in the entire game...heck Voltaic Sentinel is more useful than Gremlins!

You see after being a babysitter for years and living next to neighbors with two noisy labs I've learned to block out constant noise. So I don't even notice the barking and the howling anymore. I wish I could pass on my gift to others.
  7. Dark Control is rather scary on Doms until you get on the later levels. I said this in the feedback thread a countless number of times. I think they need to change the control values for dominators and put the values somewhere near their level.
  8. /Poison Trap can be Godly with Procs. It's even more impressive than the Traps version on /Poison Trap.

Overall the set needs a whole lot more. Look here for discussions between me and fellow poison users about the set.

  9. I agree my stalker made most of my Doms take a back seat...except for my Elec/Earth Dom dear god is he amazing.

    Thorn Assault/?

Ah, ok so most of you are doing it for thematic reasons and because you want to. I understand that. Arctic Air is AMAZING and when you throw in purples and other procs it's godly but the rest of Ice Control has major issues. I think the only good things about Ice Control is Ice Slick, Arctic Air and now Jack even though he use to be horrid.

Also I would imagine Ragnarok:Chance for Knockdown in Thorntrops would work very well with Ice Slick. Thorntrops is so fun with procs. I think Ice isn't Safe enough for me but I do have an Ice/Psi Dom that I made during the Fire/Psi Dom Boom just to tick farmers off.

I picked Earth due to all the proc potential of earthquake and Volcanic Gasses which ends up dealing some serious hurt with some tasty procs in it. Stalagmites is also very awesome and Poo Man is very tough.

    3) I really like Arctic Air + Melee synergy.
    4) I wanted to.

He's only level 16 so far but I'm enjoying it. Then again, I enjoy less optimal combinations.
I go for weird/less optimal Dom combos as well but I am kinda mad at Ice Control it's needs some loving...I always felt that Gravity and Ice control and sometimes mind is in serious need of some revamping.

I think once they finally fix Ice Control an Ice/Thorn will be a top Dom combo contender like Plant/Fire or Elec/Earth.

ANYWAY thanks for clearing that up because it was bugging me for a few months lol. Sorry for taking over the thread!

This should only get better when I get Thorntrops working for me. The theory is mag 53 fearing along with confuses and uber slows (hit's slow cap regularly) and kdowns create a very slow moving crowd of bad guys that you have lots of aoe potential.
I don't use the immob powers as they do mess with ice slick and sleeps.

The biggest issue with Ice/, IMO, is the end usage. Once you can deal with that, you will have a lot of fun. Just remember to be in close range most of the time for your pbaoe control.
I still don't get why people are making Ice/thorns though...Earth can do the same thing but better Also Earth has more controls and damage potential.
  12. Ugh, this just reinforces my decision to Make a StJ stalker over MA or Dark. Since I like Dark I'm going with both StJ and Dark...MA seems nice on paper but it's smashing...and smashing isn't as bad as lethal but there's a reason why I sometimes don't like playing my Nin/Nin stalker.
  13. I refused to read the thread because I R REBELIOSH! Did they change the sounds for Staff Fighting?

It's working on my elec dom.

Ahh, Thanks Dread and Lobster. I was looking at the other sets and I was wondering why the numbers were so high.

@Leo/Brand X-I already have a Nin/Nin, Elec/Ice and Kinetic/Ice. So I already have Kinetics covered. MA is effective but it's mostly smashing damage and I remember wanting to throw the Monitor out the window when my Nin/nin encountered a foe that had high resistance to lethal/smashing. (I also think that MA is Tacky but what's wrong with trying it out?)

Dark Melee is awesome but sometimes it does bore me...but it can do so much!

I've always been meaning to make an energy melee toon but I know that it putters behind StJ, MA, Dark Melee and Staff Fighting. I'm going to wait on Staff and StJ *I might not have enough for both sets* I'm going to also play all of these sets On the Test Server to see which one screams out to me. Thanks so much for the info I have some testing to do.
  16. Ah, wow...looking at Mids now and I'm checking out the ST potential on StJ...quite impressive I think i have found my winner thanks Auroxis.
  17. Ah, so when StJ came out it took the crown eh? Nice...I would purchase it but I might wait until Staff comes out. I want to conserve my Paragon Points just in case something else comes out that I didn't know about.

I do know about the Assassin Strike changes and the Stalker ATO and how Every set excels at ST damage now but I want to make a stalker that's more geared towards the Traditional Single Target style just for a nice play-style change.
  18. Hello All, Thanks to the new Tasty Stalker Buffs I have once again started to make many, many stalker builds in mids in anticipation of much stabbity fun. I have 3 Stalkers and only one of them is ST focused. I'm not a melee guy normally and my memory is quite fuzzy but what is the best performing or most well rounded Single Target Set for stalkers?

I recall Dark Melee taking first place due to consistent streamlined DPS no?

Energy Melee seems promising but I'm guessing that it's more BURST ST damage due to the cast times and whatnot.

How does Broadsword and Street Justice Match up?

EDIT: Oh and I think I remember Ninja Blade being up there but I would think it wouldn't do so well due to everything having strong resistances to Smashing and Lethal.
  19. Ice is an interesting set. You cannot not judge it by numbers alone due to the back up Regen. Also if you perma hasten your stalker you are looking at some fine regen numbers. I think it is the best stalker secondary out there currently.

I'm not the best when it comes to making builds for Melee toons but with all the incarnate goodness and procs and bonuses.

My stalker is looking at 1216% Regen Total...that's nothing to sneeze at.

    Thorn Assault/?

The DoT in thorns plays nice with Elec...Unless you use thorntrops a lot...if you do then elec is not a good choice.

Well I'll be darned...I tested out on my dom today and I got the same result...hrmm
