Quote:Well the snipe change would effect almost every single AT.Hopefully you don't get your way. 4 out of 12 primaries don't have snipes. While there is nothing wrong with snipes getting better to the point where they are worth taking as a choice, I really wouldn't want to feel forced into having every one of my blasters be a sniper or have them be seriously gimped.
Also thanks Arcanaville. -
/Time Takes care of the survival Part and /Fire is king. Plus you can spam Blaze, RoF and Fireball to take a mob. With Ice you're focusing more on ST attacks and Ice Storm. It all depends on the person but Fire/ deals more damage and Time can keep you alive.
Ice is amazing paired with Ageless and Burnout though but Fire still wins out I think.
I have an Ice/Dark that I love but I wished that I made an Ice/Cold instead...but Dark is awesome in it's own way. -
Hopefully they make the Snipes down right tasty so one cannot ignore it's awesomeness. Yes, I know I'm silly.

Quote:I thought so! I remember fighting them with my Dom in an Alignment mish and My Plant/Fire boldy ran up and used Seeds...they just turned around and turned me into a grease stain on the floor lol. That made a lasting impression me!On a plant troller I avoid them, but the mag 6 from Seeds + Domination overtakes them easily.
Even with Perma Dom I wouldn't recommend fighting them unless you have lucks...Frenzy also helps if you died and you need to build up Domination again.
Quote:And Fears. And have that horrible Vengie Buff when their Lieuts die.
My Dark/Sonic defender and Illusion controllers hate Nemmies. My Dark/Time isn't looking forward to them either (she had a torrid time with some Devouring Earth yesterday as well, although I also had a grumpy baby on my lap at the time)
The little one will hopefully join our ranks one day -
I add Soul Drain in there for insult to injury as well. "Oh whut? Sorry did I just kill you all with only RoF and Fireball? TEE HEE!
-
I just run a couple of BAFs and LAM's ect to get what I need for the Proc. Normally the rest of the set is pretty cheap compared to the proc.
-
Nemesis I believe have a high Resist to confuse I think. I avoid them at all costs.
Plant is fine for now...I'm going to echo the others Ice, Mind, Elec, Fire and Grav need buffs first! -
I still have yet to make a /Pretty Stalker!
-
Fire/Time hands down. The mitigation in ice works well with time but nothing is better than hitting farsight and a purple running into melee and destroying everything in your path.
-
Thanks Zwill for clearing that mess up earlier. I understood where Vir was coming from and I was amazed that fellow posters were attacking her in such a manner.

There's no point of continuing a discussion with someone who's just a little on the rude side. My apologies.

Quote:Sadly, I saved a slot on Freedom in anticipation for Staff Fighting. My toon is named "Big Black Stick" He's a Staff/DA Brute of course and color surprised when I found out that the name wasn't takenThis is win, but I was just seeing toons called "Massive pole", "Enormous Rod", "Pole dancer" and "Brazilian Whacks" on my server.
.
The weird part is that I could sit down and actually come up with powers for that set! lol I think it should be for Defenders, Corrs and Trollers though. -
Quote:First of all just to let you know I'm not attacking you. I love Playing Devil's Advocate and I love discussion. I also like trying to be Non Biased since I prefer Archery over Fire as well.First, Fire's nuke has around 4 times the base recharge if I'm remembering correctly. Second, it already wrecks your endurance and your recovery every time you use it, and Burnout has a massive endurance penalty. Even Drain Psyche and Ageless can't completely cover your losses since you'll have to retoggle everything every time you want to use your nuke... It's just not efficient at all.
Edit: Inferno actually has six times the base recharge of RoA.. Ouch.
I have a Ice/Dark Corr and yes he has to re-toggle Assault after a Nuke but I have no issue with the lack of end from the Crash from Blizzard or Burnout...but Ice isn't as bad as Fire when it comes to end. Also with Drain Psyche one can gain back lost end if you combine it with T4 Ageless...heck it takes a lot to stop T4 Ageless in it's tracks alone.
My combo is normally Ice Storm, Blizzard, Ageless, Burnout, Ice Storm, Blizzard....yes I got off on a tangent lol. -
Hrmm, I wish I was math inclined...I wonder if you throw in Ageless after firing a nuke and using Burnout would it even come close to the numbers of Arch/MM...probably not...come to think of it, it probably would end up hindering you more than helping considering the goal is constant pure damage.
-
Or like someone mentioned several times in the forum, the ability to stack resistance to mezzes that builds from your attacks like Assassins focus.
-
Well, between the two who do think will come out on top once you add ageless in the mix?
-
Scirion, what I'm trying to say is this...One should not have to go so far out their way to make one barely mediocre power work. I think that it's a little unnecessary for one to make their build all about Range to compensate for 1 snipe power that really isn't as useful as it should or can be. Abandoning the fact that your toon would be better off with a build focused in other weak areas like lack of defense and recharge.
-
I think that the set is amazing, great utility that vastly outshines the utility of Dual Pistols...I just can barely afford both StJ and Staff though and with I23 looming over...I want to conserve my points for even more awesome upcoming stuff. I think that the Devs should lower the Points of Sets to at least 400-600 PP.

Quote:Hrmm, I don't know...*shrug* I'm still using my 3 main blasts (Charged Bolts, Lightning Bolt and Spirit Shark Jaws), as well as Ball Lightning from 183ft. I'm nuking (Thunderous Blast) from 133.7ft (I LOL'd at that one), and puking (Bile Spray) from 141ft, with School of Sharks at 105ft, so I can use it on anything that may have survived, and back out of range again.
So, since you brought it up, I can effectively use 90% of my main attack chain from 33ft farther than base snipe range, thank you very much.
I won't complain if the powers that be decide to up the damage or cut the cast time on snipes, I'm just saying they aren't nearly as broken or worthless as everyone seems to think they are.
Even with the Blaster ATO Set, 3 Range SOs and Cardiac Core Paragon I still could only get 144.2 feet out of Charged Bolts...man how......are you saying that if a set has a snipe one should build on range and range only? Or we should only roll /Energy Manipulation for our blaster toons? Even then this doesn't cover the other ATs. That's sacrificing a lot for one power and it's not even worth it *shrug*. -
Man...I dropped Nightfall and I'm glad that I did. I love cones but Nightfall was painful.

I love my Bane and I keep forgetting how well he performs in ST damage as well as light Aoe Damage thanks to Venom Grenade and Crowd Control. I remember many moons ago being Impressed by the fact that I could take out a Red or Purple Con Boss with no issue.

I Also took Bayonet because I love that power...I'm a big fan of DOT and Bayonet does a lot of DPA I think. I also like the fact that after Bayonet The redraw for Bash is super short.
