They will be fixed soon thank goodness.

I have no issue with status resistance either or a click power like Domination or The Hybrid Toggle that gives blasters a window of status resistance or protection.
Just throwing more damage at the AT seems like an unlikely move from the Devs and it wouldn't solve all of their problems. -
Quote:Well maybe it might...there's been rumors of Ice Control being looked at...but again just rumors. I wouldn't mind if this made Bonfire KD only AS LONG as they promise to look at Ice Control. My biggest complaint would be how this would make Ice Control Look undesirable. I wish I could test this out for you guys but I can't get a team on beta to save my life.No way are they going to let Bonfire convert knockback directly to knockdown over the long term, if thats how the IO works. That's crossing an extreme even for this game. I doubt that will even make it out of beta without a nerf if thats how it works right now (I haven't been able to test it yet). I would expect at best to elinate knockback and get knockdown every 10 seconds.
For the record, Earthquake and Ice Slick have durations of 30 seconds, and a 8% and 7% chance to knockdown every 1/5th of a second. Bonfire would last 45 seconds and have a 100% chance to knockdown every 1/5th of a second. Bonfire is also a power in a Blaster and Mastermind APP. Not in a million years is that going to fly. -
I wish I had the patience to level a Stone/Dark Brute lol.
-
Giving them mez protection would not throw the balance off because when it comes down to it a Blaster can't take a hit. Plus we have lvl 50 blasters running around with Clarion perma and I have yet to see the servers catch fire and then explode :P.
-
Fire.
I think the new IO will breathe life into Fire Control once again...for those of us who hate having to constantly apply cages or if cages misses and a baddie goes flying off into another KB dimension.
If only Bonfire took as many Procs as Caltrops does :P.
Man...I know Ice Control is SO pissed off right now. -

Let me know guys if you want to start a little team up or something!
-
Do you know what was up with that Test Update?
Also, I don't think I would use Shockwave that much Solo on a Claws Brute but I would use it like CRAZY on a team. Shockwave kinda goes against the Claws style of keeping them close.
EDIT: Now Shockwave on a Sonic toon...muahahaha! -
I agree. I think a decent amount of players don't even use shockwave because of it's KB. There's a lot of power out there that are not used by a lot because of KB...Repulsing torrent is one of them.

Quote:Bonfire penalizes you if you miss or forget to apply cages though. It's ok solo but on teams it can cause chaos. With the Proc you can leave it and forget it so now it's like Earthquake with sustained damage or Volcanic Gas with ...well shoot you can already do that with Volcanic Gas lol.Trying to use a KB version of Bonfire as a Blaster is probably annoying. But as a Controller having a tool like Bonfire that can cause KB is an absolute blessing. I can probably think of a dozen different ways a Controller can benefit from being able to move critters away from or towards various locations using Bonfire.
Basically KB can be annoying if either you or the team you're on doesn't know how to use it properly. I guess it's cool the Devs are giving us a way to turn KB into KD, but I'm probably only going to use it on a couple of alts max and it won't be in Bonfire. *shrugs*
It will add a lot of control to Fire Control for those of us who are not as attentive to our powers.
I like the KB in Bonfire though but most of the time I wish it was KD. again it depends on the person. -
Well that's going into another direction. You can't compare Storm with any of those sets BUT I see what you are saying. I think in General though the Devs should of addressed the pet fix issue with everyone back then not just Stormies.
-
I want to say that they changed it a few years ago? I think I'm wrong though I probably didn't noticed it did KD until a few years ago XD

Quote:I thought it was the Talon of Vengence but I don't think so...It may of been the New Additions to the Banished Pantheon...Prohestus or something? I need to wander around DA and check it out.Did a quick Paragon Wiki search for those guys, and I can't find them. Any help?
EDIT: I don't think that they've added all the new Banished Pantheon to Paragon Wiki Yet! -
Quote:Sounds like a lot...but it's reasonable it is a little bit of work to get the bolt to hit more than one foe.Yeah, lightning storm was probably the single power hardest hit by the pet recharge change. It might warrant some sort of tweak; the rest of the set is pretty good (apart from the freezing rain poofing bug), but LS isn't nearly as nice as it used to be. Fundamentally all the pet does is spam the equivalent of a tier 1 blast - sure, the knock and small AoE effect are nice, but they're mostly minor benefits (you can try to leverage the AoE by herdicaning, but that's still slow compared to just blasting them).
If I were to tweak lightning storm, I would probably add a tiered-radius effect similar to what shield charge/lightning rod/etc do - have about 2/3rds of the current damage, the guaranteed mag 1 knock and the afraid stay at the current 5 foot radius, and give the other 1/3rd of the damage, a moderate chance to knock*down*, and the endurance drain/-recovery a 15 foot radius. Net effect is no change for targets already within the 5 feet radius, but a bit of splash damage, drain, and chance for knockdown for targets outside that. -
Why is it that on the forums everyone discusses the Higher Extremes of what an AT or Set is capable of but they don't realize that 90% of PUGers never reach that cap? It's only the old heads and the forumsters that reach the cap or come anywhere close.
*cough people wanting to nerf Stalkers cough* :P -
Ah, I thought so! I was looking it up but I always like to double check to be sure. Thanks so much guys and thank you mister Math Professor Trickshooter >_> Jesus lol. I wonder why this isn't discussed more or stickied somewhere or even listed in MIDS.
-
I've looked this up on the Forum and on Paragon Wiki and I seem to be skimming RIGHT over information on the numbers of and how -Restance works.
This is my guesstimation from Mids. If I'm fighting...let's say that I'm fighting an even con critter with no defense or resistance protection and I debuff him for -30% Resistance before I attack him with my ST power that deals 100 pts of damage...to figure out how much damage my power will deal I should Take the 100 pts of damage and multiply it with .30 correct? Which would give me 30 and I would just add the 30 to 100 to get 130...so my power would be dealing 130 pts of damage?
I know the equation changes when you factor in the level of the mob, their defense, their resistance their rank ect.
Could someone explain this to me again? I think it was explained to me in 09' or 10' but back then I was pretty DERP when it came to understanding debuffs of any kind. -

Or instead of adding damage what about what someone said earlier in this thread maybe a recharge boost as well so their heals come up more often and they can dish out more hurt?
-
Lightning Storm used to be a BEAST before the pet change...the thing that amazes me is that the Devs refused to do anything about it.

I think a lot of players have already come up with some cool ways of improving Tanker damage without taking away the Tanking Feel of the AT.
Johnny I think the reason why Tankers aren't popular is because of Responsibility. A lot of players do not want the responsibility of being a Tanker weighing on their shoulders. They just want to jump in and kill things. Heck 90% of players who pug don't even want to start a team or be the leader of a Team...which has some relation to what a Tanker is all about. Scrappers, Stalkers and Even Brutes most of the time don't have to worry about that.
Tankers in my opinion feel like a Support Melee AT more than anything...we all know that most PUGers shy away from playing support.
