toxic and Cold are my favorite damage types in game.

It would of ended that way if they had known that it was going to be signed for two seasons...but it wasn't signed for two until they were pretty much done with the first season. She still can't call herself an airbender in the slightest.
-
I must live on another planet because I'm rarely on teams with players who actually have tactics...maneuvers and assault yes, but tactics is kinda rare unless I'm on a team with more than one MM or a SoA or three.
I'm also somewhat of a loaner though so that could be it lol. -
Quote:You guys do know that it was only signed for only one season right? I think it was exceptionally well done for one season. The old Avatar had time for more build up, story and character development.I agree. They pulled out some twist that really lacked any build up (Tenzin and the kids were captured, we just didn't tell you! Ahahaha!) and went with one twist that was so painfully obvious that I didn't think they would do it. I was also hoping for a better explanation of why they could bloodbend without the moon other than they can because they're so good they can. I was also disappointed with Korra's airbending break through; it seemed like it should have been tied to some deep character development.
Inazuma! I love the Penny Arcade comic! It's so true! I love Korra but that girl needs to grow up a little...and I guess apparently so does mako lol. -
Quote:Ah, ok my apologies.Well what I meant was whats it niche now? I suppose DS can be a great survival tool. Is Psi the lowest DPS single target and AOE?
Also on another note, I have Aid Self on my Plant/Energy Dom. Do most doms take Aid Self to survive?
Hrmm...well it's niche is great AOE and added survivability so you don't have to worry about Aid Self.
I don't know how it fairs ST number wise but I do know form feel and experience that it's not the lowest. I know that Elec and Ice is under Psi. Psi's ST attacks have always felt to slow to me though...and I wasn't the only one who thought so...the devs sped up their attacks several times actually. I think that Psi deals decent ST and impressive AOE.
About Aid Self on Doms...it depends. I'm a super aggresive player especially on my plant dom so I do take Aid Self...mind you that's mostly because my dom solo's at +4/+8 with ease....but there are certain combos I don't take aid self on. When it comes down to it it's up to you and how you play...I like to focus more on control because that seems to keep you alive better than anything else but if you find yourself in trouble go for it.
I wouldn't pick up Aid Self if you plant to make a Plant/Psi though. -
Quote:Lmao Seriously Ultimus? What's the point of anything in this game beyond Fire and Super strength?Wow so Psi really got gutted then? Aside from Drain Psyche, whats the point of it anymore?
You play to have fun.
Psi is great and it works well with plant but Plant is already great at control and survival so that opens up the opportunity for you to play a risky but high damaging secondary.
Also a lot of Dom players were not fans of the Psi change. The set is now balanced that's true but some players like the set when it was heavily weighted on PSW. Psi is great though leveling wise and it brings even more survivability to the plate...It awesome can deal some amazing damage. I would go for it, I have heard that is was an amazing combo.
I think that Plant/Fire blossoms and excels in the late game especially once you have a way to keep you end bar high. Embrace of Fire works with the Fire Mastery pool and it's just...just beautiful. I made the plant/fire combo without knowing that it was going to be so impressive. I wanted to make a Jack O' Lantern toon. -
Quote:Yeah...We have to wait and see though. I don;t think that the devs will steer us wrong especially snyapse and Hawk. It'll never happen, but they may as well remove all snipes if Moonbeam were to ever go. Burn for Fiery Assault, Repulsion Bomb on Energy Assault (making up for the lack of cone), redacted on Psionic Assault and Short Circuit on Electricity Assault.
Pipe dreams... -

Quote:1) For Aoe Damage I would go with everything that's not Energy and Ice. Ice is cool but it needs a little love I think. /Dark, /Fire and /Thornys goes SO well with plant if I was you I would chose one of those three.I have a Plant / Energy Dominator that I have been thinking of re-rolling. It was a Dominator I made when Issue 6 first launched. Back then, my focus was on Power Boost because I had thought of Dominator's more as controllers rather then damage dealers. Jumping forward, now that I see the end game (Incarnates) and control is kind of useless in them and damage is king.
So I have been thinking of rerolling for a better secondary. Fire seems like the best choice but I wanted to get opinions.
1) Are there any secondaries where I can deal a LOT of AOE damage while maintaining good single target DPS? I know Psi can deal a lot of AOE damage but its single target is bad? (Also I remember Psi before the adjustments... when it was an AOE monster with a huge AOE)
2) Is there anyway to get a lot of AOE power from the ancillary/patrol pools? If so, I suppose I could stick with my current setup.
3) What Doms can fight mostly at range?
Pretty much my goal is to have a Dom that can go into a +8 swarm, toss out Carrion Creepers/Seeds of Confusion, and AOE down the spawn and wipe out the bosses with good single target DPS.
2)I normally go for Sleet and Ice Storm on all my doms except for my /Fire Doms. I like sleet because it can deal decent damage, control and the -50 res debuff with AH adds a ton of damage.
3)Almost all doms can fight at range but my Elec/Earth fights in melee range...in fact he prefers it. -
Looks like a great set for those MM primaries that are known to die fast...so anything that's not Bots :P. Just kidding.

Quote:Yes it is. The old avatar started slow as well and Aang seemed a bit of a goofball ditz when we first saw him. There wasn't any action until the 2nd episode? I can't remember. So, is this really worth watching? My wife, son and I all loved the first series, watching it multiple times and lending out the DVDs to people. We were looking forward to Korra, but when the first two episodes came out, I fell asleep watching the first one. It started ok, but I really didn't like
the weird 1920- or 1930-ish setting at all. When I woke up, I asked my wife what she thought. She said the story seemed dull, the supporting characters were not interesting and Korra herself was borderline annoying. I didn't bother trying to watch again and my wife has no desire to watch either. My son has expressed a desire to watch it, so I may try again, but I just don't have any enthusiasm about it.
Give it a chance judging something based on 15 minutes of the first episode is pretty harsh. Korra is annoying at first and a bit immature but bare with the show she will grow on you and she will mature. She still has a long way to go though she's a typical teenager no doubt. -
Quote:Good! I wasn't the only one! Mako is a big ol Jerk and Korra is super selfish.*raises hand*
I pretty much cried the whole of episode 12, then bawled at the end of it.
Still wish Korra and Asami/Ayami (whatever her name is) would've gotten together!
I made sure that the coast was clear when my "allergies" acted up lol. -
Neurotoxic Breath would be super cool if it had more range and if it proc'd more.
-
Bingo! If it's going to stay with this 22% To Hit business can we take moonbeam out and put in Chill of the Night like we wanted! Thanks!

Well could you tell me what I'm doing wrong? lmao it just seems inferior to Gravity's ST chain. I even have mind proc'd out but still meh. I guess since I'm still a lowbie I can't see it (lvl 23) but I'm going to finally level one to see how I feel about it. Oh and I don't do PVP...EVER.
I also agree with Reppu Plant is very situational and it's St damage is poor. Plant is amazing but nothing beats the survival of Perma PA control wise NOTHING.
Illusion is such a weird one to compare with but it's damage is impressive and mixed with a lot of survivability...it can be confusing on how to really rate it. one can take out a -1/+8 mob with just one summon of PA and pals...actually I need to make Ill/cold or Ill/Poison already....*mumble* need more slots. -
I find mind to be pitiful on Doms as well...I barely kill things so I just gave up and focused only on control.
-
Quote:Oh I know about the awesomeness of creepers...esp with procs and Interface goodness. I'm just trying to steer players away from thinking about Nerfing the living poo out of my Plant Control
I forgot that Bonfires could stack (so about 15 seconds of pretty good overlap damage)... but next time you're on your Plant/, go into your Detailed Info numbers for Creepers; its waaaay different than the Mid's numbers (about 3x higher); and I could actually see how that would play out..
As an aside: Another thing to note is that any damage Interface (and Cognitive) is really going to push Creepers over the top (it being multiple pet summon).
Speaking of that proc and Storm; Corrs are going to get a bit more interesting for me if I can land some of those KB-to-KDs..
I wish that the KD proc wasn't a Unique. I would love to slot it in Lightning Storm and Tornado! -
Quote:Well there are so many factors!I'm going to have to go with Creepers over Bonfire; Fly Trap over Imps; Seeds over Flashfire; Roots over Cages. (Creepers lasts longer, can stagger its DoT (for faster damage), can actually increase its own damage during its duration and be kitted for more damage and procs).
Which leaves Hot Feet to make up the difference.
Imps out damage Venus Fly Trap but Fly Trap can take more hits (which was a boost since fly trap would die if you look at it funny a few years ago). Imps push a head damage wise if you can keep them alive but Overall Venus is a better choice since it's great for control and decent damage...and it's a lot like Singy it will protect you if you're in trouble.
No doubt about it Seeds own Flashfire period no debate there!
Roots over cages definitely!
Bonfire...this power gets such a bad rap because it deals crazy KB and it takes a while for it's damage to shore up..also it's not proc friendly BUT it makes Creepers Nervous! With a High Recharge build you can almost get out 3 Bonfires at the same time! 2 Bonfires are the same time is gauranteed! That means almost 260 points of damage unenhanced! but the catch is that's within a minute and 30 seconds...making the power truly only useful with Super tough enemies. If you could turn the power to KD it would be used more for control and damage. So yes Carrion Creepers are better in everyway but Bonfire can be a force if it's used on the right Foe.
(I love laying down two Tornadoes, two Bonfires, Waterspout and Lightning Storm on AVs!) -
Quote:Asami deserved better. (I call her my little steampunk Carmen Sandiego)Awesome episode(s). I had correctly speculated a few aspects of it, but I had figured her Avatar state would kick in during her fight with Amon.
Amon being Tarrlok's brother was somewhat unexpected, but the resolution to that was very poignant. It was pretty obvious that Tarrlok was going to do something as soon as you saw the way he looked on the boat, I wasn't expecting him to blow it up though. Particularly since during the entire episode they had been taking great pains to show the parachutes for the pilots who's planes were destroyed, as if to reassure parents "Look, look! No one was hurt."
I loved Bolin's line about Hiroshi finding time to come up with new evil inventions. Nicely mirror's the audiences view of all the new technology getting added to the show.
I'm really happy that they didn't go all Woman Scorned with Asami and have her jump ship to join her father.
Iroh's voice still doesn't sit quite right with me.
Indeed. I had speculated the possibility of her having her other bending removed and only being able to bend Earth/Water/Fire with the Avatar state. I'm inclined to believe that since she can restore bending to others, that her own bending has been restored though.
I hope she punches Mako in the Deku Nuts....twice.
I loved how she didn't know what she was doing when she airbended so she used her firebending style to Airbend...that made me chuckle!
I think there can be a lot left for season 2. She may know how to energy bend and go into the avatar state but there's still a lot of unanswered questions about the fate of the original avatar team and Korra has a LONG way to go before she can properly Airbend like Tenzen or Aang.
I would love to see Asami and Bolin find someone and we need more Bumi and Tenzen's waterbending sis! -
Alright so who cried like a baby after seeing the finale? *raises hand*

Thanks Raj *sigh*...I think : /. There should be a sarcasm meter on every post so you can see what they are REALLY saying lol.
