  1. Thanks guys. I did indeed mean enhancements. Mastermind slotting is definitely tricky. Apparently the pet IO's don't apply to all the pet powers, either. For instance, am I correct that end redux in Blood Mandate won't reduce the end use of all powers used by pet demons?
  2. Why do damage procs on my Gargoyle (Summon Demons) cap out at 55% instead of 95%, according to the in-game stats? Are those stats wrong, or is there some pet mechanic I'm unaware of? Actually, I'm sure there are many pet mechanics I'm unaware of - is this one of them?
  3. It seems as though everyone is either doing the post-50 or the WST. I've been trying to do a Synapse or Citadel for 2 weekends now, and it hasn't happened. I'm on Freedom, at busy times, in an active SG, and subscribed to channels. Am I missing some trick to getting one of these going, or are they just not being run right now?
  4. Does Spiritual's recharge buff affect Dom? Thanks!

    Drop power binds

Is it possible to have more than 3 lbutton binds, for drop powers, TP, etc? I know of ctrl+lbutton, alt+, and shift+. Am I missing any? Thanks!
  6. Anybody out there have a successful Demon/Dark build they don't mind posting - or a link to some? Thanks!

On the contrary - thank you for posting it. Just like to see a few different builds to get a feel for what will work best for me. In particular, I wondered if there was anywhere you could throw influence to get a noticeable performance bump. Thanks!
  8. Does anyone else have some good builds they've used? It seems as though slotting MM's is going to be a fairly unique experience. Is it even worth trying to find room for 5 LotG? Or does the lack of set bonuses for pets mean that Frankenslotting can be better than a matched set?

I intend to level the old fashioned way. I can backwards extrapolate from a solid 50 build, but are there any particular humps to look for? I don't mind respeccing a couple of times en route to 50.

    VEAT question

If you go Redside from Praetoria, will you unlock the villain epics?
  10. Why do these seem to mostly be listed as 50's? Is this because they are Arena drops? Is there any reason for someone buying these with Merits to buy 50 instead of 10?
  11. I agree that you can't make a sweeping generalization about the 2 AT's. They have a lot of similarities, most of the time you have to be playing at a pretty high level for the differences to matter. Some combos favor Scrappers, some Brutes. Fury definitely makes 1-20 easier, though.

I think the Regen discussion shows just how difficult it is to compare. I completely disagree that Regen sucks. It makes both the early and late game easier - provided money is not an issue. Capped S/L does more for Regen than just about any other secondary. DP is stupid good. I'm pretty certain that most of the complaints about Regen are coming from people who haven't gotten DP to perma levels. Regen at the HP and Def caps is a completely different monster. The newest incarnation of MoG is awesome - for my playstyle. If I can't take care of business in 15 seconds, I was probably in over my head.

The point is, each set has different thresholds. Cross that threshold and the relative effectiveness changes. And that threshold is different for Brutes and Scrappers. Think about how much more popular Tankers would be if no one else could hit the Def or Res caps.

    Dark/SD synergy

Thanks guys. I figured I just missed the FoM memo.

    Dark/SD synergy

I see a lot about Fire or Elec paired with SD, maybe Claws. Have I just been missing the conversations about Dark/SD? They seem to complement each other so well. Dark provides a Healing factor that SD lacks. SD provides an AoE that Dark lacks. Their combo Dam bonus is amazing. It won't help much against hard single targets, but Dark is already nasty there. Is there a hole that I'm missing? Is it worth going Brute for the extra HP/Heal factor, or would that be a total waste of the Soul Drain/AAO combo? Thanks!
  14. You'd have to reduce that 300 heal per 5 seconds by the hit probability, too. Are creeper vines covered by Maneuvers?
  15. 60DPS is equal to 300 heal every 5, so at worst that's a wash. As you say, the aid in locking him down can still make them well worth it. Of course, explaining that during a TF can be tough.
  16. Do Creepers help Rommy more than they hurt him? Heard this on an ITF last night. I can see where it might be true if he does enough PBAOE buffing, but it doesn't feel right.

Anyone know the actual logic behind the claim, or even better, the numbers involved? Thanks!
  17. Thinking about this made me realize how well balanced the game is. There really are a lot of answers, depending on your priorities. I think an overall generic answer should be able to team and solo uber well, plus have a smooth leveling experience. Even then, only a few AT's do poorly (most Tanks, Controllers, Defenders). Not that they can't solo easily, but not "uber" (notable exceptions). Some builds can do stupid well solo, but don't really participate in team dynamics. Some are uber endgame, but painful to level. Or they are gods early, but bleh endgame.

So my list includes AoE Brutes, particularly Willpower. Brutes and Willpower are great early, and AoE plus survivability makes them solid endgame players. Pretty much all Doms, though I'll single out Plant/ for smooth leveling while still being an endgame god. One gives you smashtastic in-your-face fun, the other is probably the most cackletastic. If you wanna take a beating and give it back twice as hard, Brute. If you want to destroy vast swaths of bad guys in a variety of ways while never really feeling threatened, Dom.

    Thunderstrike?

Thanks! Seems like my brute does kb, though. Are you sure it's only knockdown?

    Thunderstrike?

Does anyone know what this power does to non-targeted mobs in the AoE? Mids, the in-game, and Tomax don't give any info on what it does to target vs "splash" effects. Thanks!
  21. That last one won't work. Type /bindsavefile <charname>. Then check your CoH folder in the Piggs subfolder. Open the file with your charname using notepad. Then create the two files Ocasta lists above using Notepad, saving both of them in Piggs.

Tank, are you saying to use Ocasta's bind above, just use "W" (or whatever the movement key is) instead of "lbutton"?
The last Ocasta bind (uses 'w'). Works perfectly for Hasten/AM. Activates AM when pressed, goes back to Hasten when released. Which is perfect, since I can "pause" perma-AM to hit the whole group when I want.

For perma-Dom it doesn't really matter which one can be "paused", though I think having Hasten on true perma is easiest.
  23. Actually, the switch file bind on 'w' works best. If you just activate one power with 'w', it ends up making the autoexec power wait while it queues.

    Good stuff, thanks guys.
  24. I've used the switch file bind before, but it's still a bit tedious, and you tend to miss it in combat. I tried combining the 2nd "auto" power with the 'w' key today, but the warning ding is annoying. Is there a way to powexec without getting the warning noise that "power is recharging? (other than modding the sound files)

    Thanks!
  25. Yeah, I say it so much I forgot it's not the real name. Sorry.
