My friend got to 9999 merits on his Widow. For awhile there he was having to roll before a sf just so he would actually get merits for them :P He's been buying vil merits every day since i18 and still has 8k+.

Since he won't listen to anyone's advice... I don't feel bad saying this/not contributing in a positive manner.
That is one of the worst builds I've seen in a long time. I normally wouldn't care, but he's been complaining about the price of shinies and yet he's 6 slotting 5 sets of purples in a sub par build. -

Issue 19 does away with publicly seeing set bonuses. Come I19 it will be impossible to know who is purpled and who is not. -
