  1. 1. Confirmation that patrol XP is optional
    2. Claiming that Shields and Pain Dom are 'for everyone'
    3. Mentioning dominators right at the end to no meaningful addition
    4. 'Rebalancing'.

Yeah, I think I'm within my rights to be very damn worried.
  2. Normally when the dom forum sits around swapping stupid ideas, Castle isn't the one who starts it.
  3. There are two different types. That's 30 mag right there.

    Yes, I read the link.

I don't really agree with the "win at all costs" philosophy but, be that as it may...

[/ QUOTE ]I think it's fundamentally disrespectful to approach an opponent and not actually try to win. If you're just going to play with me, it's insulting.

    [/ QUOTE ]
there is suck a thing as trying your hardest to win with honor

[/ QUOTE ]If you wish to artificially limit your ability to win, do so. You can think better of yourself for doing so as well.

    I mean, hell, I don't even PVP.

about as fast as any fire/kin that you have ever seen in action.

[/ QUOTE ]As long as she fulcrum shifts you when you need it, sure.

Haven't read the rest, but I found it. Will feed back later.
  6. Johnny is seriously the best reason to visit the Tanker board. It's like the opening thirty seconds of Fight Club whenever he posts.
  7. If I teamed with Tankers more, I'd probably learn to do that. As it stands, I just never seem to wind up alongside the buggers.

Johnny Butanes belief system is a game should be horribly unbalanced and retarded in the name of realism. (As long as it only makes the characters he likes ridiculously powerful, starting with Inv/SS)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just want the game to be fair. If burn has a fear component, then so should Fire Control's Hot Feet (Because that is more controlling).

[/ QUOTE ]Dude, Hot Feet has a fricking fear component.

I like Matt's belief system better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Matt's beleif system is such that he thinks it's OK that a super hero who's skin is supposed to be invulnerable to physical injury gets injured easier by guys with metal swords than a super hero who's merely really determined.

    .

[/ QUOTE ]No, Matt's belief system is pleasing your petulant one-eyed view of flavour is not important enough when there's a whole world of subscribers who actually are willing to vote with their feet. Could you hurry up and join them?
  10. Every time someone brings up a Statesquote I find myself beatifically glad he's not around. Not that he wasn't responsible for a great game, but as an actual designer and developer, he seems the kind of person with the kind of mindset I have to fight every time I have an idea that people would, heaven forfend, enjoy.
  11. Speaking as an Australian, you can all go hang.

This game has exclusive stuff in it. Vet rewards, prerelease helmets, TF rewards, etcetera. If these things were necessary to play, you'd have them. This game is beautiful in that it never deprives you of anything that provides a major QOL upgrade or a necessity of play.

Let the people have their momento and don't be a priss about it when someone else gets something you don't. Do you get antsy when other people get better IO drops than you do?

*checks Market Forum* Oh, wait, people do. Wow, that's stupid.

is he..extremely tall irl? or...very proud?

[/ QUOTE ]Worse. He's exceptionally good, and good at PVP.
  15. Dude, you think once she's 50 she'll be free?
  16. I think I'm the person to blame for the delicious tears meme cropping up. I'm not sure where I heard it, but it was my becoming utterly fed up with the blossom of idiotic ignorance around me, and had found people were equally resistant to education. So I just gave up on explaining it and just went with the simple mockery.
  17. Not like those useless splitters in the Liberate The Snood Front.

Then congratulations, you're bad at competition. Enjoy feeding the War Axe/Dark Armour zoners.

[/ QUOTE ] It's a fundamentally different approach to competition--it doesn't make him "bad at competition" for taking a different approach. That's a pretty myopic view of the situation.

Some like to play the game the way it is implemented, regardless of how it was intended.
Some like to play the game the way it was intended, regardless of how it is implemented.

[/ QUOTE ]This is the fanciful argument of the perpetual loser. You can set up sub-games and internal hampers if you want, but in the end, all it means is that you're intentionally coming to the table without the goal of giving your best and competing at your best against your opponent. It's a common trick people use to convince themselves they're better than they think: Yes, I lost, but I didn't use inspirations. It's self-important and it's the bane of actual competitive players.

It's one thing to admit to being bad - I myself do not PVP because I don't have the skillset to be as good at it as I'd like to be. I can't handle the swings, can't handle the frustration. I hate the game imbalance. But I don't act like other people are worse for PVPing with imbalanced archetypes.

It all boils down to making excuses for your own failure, and claiming what the designers 'intended' is a laughable attempt at mind-reading to justify ones own indifference to the actual nature of competition.

If I respect my opponent, I come at them with my all. I will not cheat, but neither will I hamstring myself. Anything else is disrespectful.

Yes, I just used the term 'respect' in a PVP conversation.

It may be effective, but it's still cornball.

    [/ QUOTE ]Define cornball, please?
