A noter qu'il y avait déjà une news postée hier à 17 heures. Je commence à prendre les noms des gens qui ne consultent pas les sites

Except his right forearm, very good picture. Old school comic drawing, i like it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Arm, back and torso. The back sticks out too much and the navel/stomach are missing the twist given by the pelvis.

The line quality rocks and the old school drawing with the muscle shading is very inspiring

    Très très beau mariage.

Tous les héros disponibles se sont rassemblés dans la mairie d'Atlas Park pour célébrer le mariage entre Eddeys et Pulsaro.

Tout mes voeux de bonheurs aux deux époux.

Now that you mention it, it does have this Kindom Come style

    Beautiful, stylish and powerful.

  12. Never used Alias Sketchbook. Must give it a try some time

But since we're on the subject, again, let me point out these babies:
    OpenCanvas
    Pixia

Pixia is free and in French
OpenCanvas is made for tablets. The later versions are purchasable but the v.1 is free and allows live session over the net with up to 4 people with 3 layers each. If anyone want the earlier version of OC drop me a pm and I can send it over msn or mail, it's less than a megb and does not require any install process.

    Utaku Mayumi

I meant to comment about this pic but Blackdove summed my thoughts up pretty nicely.

One thing I have to say is that it has this lovely soft coloured feel. Nice and easy to the eye with no aggressive colours.

Keep up the good work ^^
  15. First of all, let me tell you that I appreciate the honesty in your post. Through all the sarcasm and innuendos that dwell in these forums, your post comes across, in my eyes, as very refreshing.

Anyway, it's true that learning from anime, manga and online tutorials, is the one thing people tell you not to do. However, there are quite a few autodidacts mangakas out there, who through passion alone developed their own style and have been extremely successful.

I guess it all comes down to this: do you draw for recognition or for passion/fun.

If you decide it's for the former, then you rely on those comments and therefore need to follow the "classic" route of fine art.
If you decide for the latter, then it doesn't really matter if you followed online tutorials and anime as a guideline.

Then I got artist blocked... for three years.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Quick side note.
Artist block is, I believe, one of the most important part of an artist's evolution. It's through this very moment - no matter the length of time - that one looks back at all he/she has achieved until then and analyses subconsciously their skills and where they are heading. So as frustrating as it is, it's necessary and positive.
    Just thought I'd share that.

    [ QUOTE ]
But I have never been one to sit in a mall with a sketchpad and draw things. I picture what I want to draw in my mind and put it on paper.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Another side note.
You don't -have- to draw exactly what you see. You can "replicate and adapt" what you see (in a mall for example) into anime/comic/cartoon/whatever style you're into.

    [ QUOTE ]

Anyhow, have I been doing it wrong? Or is it okay, and just the way I work best? Often wondered, and I never really figure it out.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You know, the simple fact that you are posting your concerns here, shows that you are evolving through soul-searching. So I can only see positive things emerging from all this.

    Furthermore:
    [ QUOTE ]
And I often find myself wondering if I've taught myself the wrong things in getting where I am the way I did.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Irrelevant.
Every time you draw, you learn. Maybe a tiny bit. Maybe a huge chunk.
It's like xp in coh. There is never a time where you lose xp. You always go forward. Always adding to your knowledge and always improving.

May I point out that art/drawing/painting/any form of expression is not an exact science. So I'm sure many could disagree with this post.

I'm not worried for your situation. Not when you can produce little beauties like this, this or this!
You're just in a "halted" state.

    You're doing fine Aug.

Your concerns are justified for the simple reason that they'll help you improve, regardless of the direction you'll be heading next.

The reason Swissy doesn't finish some of his drawings is because its nothing special to him.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Lol.
I appreciate you trying to understand my way of thinking but there are 2 reasons why I don't always finish my drawings. And they are interconnected.
-1 Work. Heavy deadlines make us work long days and sometimes on weekends.
-2 Coh/v. When I come home from a long day's work, I'm pretty knackered so I just log on and play with my mates...

When I do pickup my tablet pen, I totally lose myself in the pixels, colours and the music I'll have blasting from the speakers. Every doodle I make is an adventure to me, no matter how small the doodle.

    Yet Another Pic.

    Again, interesting ^^

The clothing -specially on the shoulder/biceps area- has a nice feel of depth and the arm has these Oh! so fascinating muscle lines.
My gripe: the eyes that are little close together.

I know colouring with a mouse is not the most practical thing but shadows are screaming to be added here ^^
