Possible answers:
Someone is playing with them.
There is a change someone(s) know about coming in I17 or GR where Pangean Soils are valuable kind of like when Purples' salvage became known and some of those jumped.
But if it gets high enough then it is worth the 540 AE tickets to get them. Unfortunately that might not be the case at less than 10-15 million either.
Merits:
Random Rolls are generally better on average but you do take the risk of all bad rolls (unlikely but it is possible). So if you are risk advers you simply look at some of the recipes that cost say 100-125 merits and sell for 100M or so. If you don't mind the risk, then random rolls win and win big. (I only do random rolls.)
As to the levels I have found rolling in the 15-19 and 35-39 ranges tend to net me the best results. -
Wasn't the actual defense that he was on Endor not that he was living on Endor?
-
Not sure if this would be a problem in your idea but you can already turn off exp and if you have the Pillar of Flame and Ice in your base you can gather up merits over and over at a low level.

Quote:To steal a tagline from the current U.S. President's campaign "Now that is change I can believe in!"I figured out how the devs are gonna 'fix' the market. Theyre gonna lower 'the price cap' to 200 mil, instead of 2bil.
makes about as much sense as anything else they think about the market.
I'd love that price cap in place. I'd get in line with my 200M bids and then find out where people were gathering to sell things off market for more. -
It's a win right now because so few of us do it that profits are so high on some that it makes the risk of junk rolls worth it. If more people did it the junk would remain junk but the good stuff would hit the market more often and the prices should go down.

Quote:I am more concerned they will make things worse.I agree. I suspect their ideas won't really do much directly to the market.
Dev actions in the past few years regarding the market and market complaints:
Increased drop rates of costume recipes.
Added Merits
Added MA tickets which when MA was in heavy use took a toll on the markets
Changed PvP recipe drops making them even more rare (the only thing that spiked prices)
Altered the 60 days inactivity rule to being only against inactive accounts
Am I missing any other things they did that affected markets and prices? -
Quote:I certainly am looking forward to checking out the Praetorian zones but people who don't have GR won't be able to get there so if GR is a ticket out of the red side for some then it will be even worse for those unable to get out. Most indications are that people who are fed up with the red market and/or feel that there are no teaming opportunities will go blue.
However, there is also a real chance that the new zones in Praetoria will be where everyone hangs out anyhow, evening out the playing field for blue and redside alike. Given the fact that all the new zones will be designed with ultra mode in mind, I think a lot of players will want to hang their hats and see the shinies versus the old zones.
A lot depends on whether there is some huge demand to get hero ATs doing villain missions and just how far the vigilantes are willing to go. I've seen far too many threads by heroes only players to think many of them want to "sully" themselves with villain content but there was that population jump redside when VEATs hit so who knows I may be wrong and they may flock red. -
Quote:But then they might as well add everything into NPC stores. It would take far less work and be no risk of bugs or player manipulation causing dips or spikes.Posi said something about how merging the markets would eventually be a Very Bad Thing according to their economic forecasts, and that they have plans in the works to fix the markets.
I have a feeling that this means an automatic system which satiates both outstanding demand and supply, which might be bad news for marketers but good news for everyone else. Kind of like how they tried to fix PvP so that no one has too huge an advantage over anyone else, which resulted in a lackluster system. We'll see though. -
Apart from Purple and PvP recipes everything is available at the merit "stores".
The devs have stated they didn't give those merit costs because it would be too high.
So if you think about the merits/hour rates the devs have stated and how much influence/infamy a level 50 character can generate there is actually a base inf cost compared to merits.
The variance in prices you see beyond that would be addressed by demand on those drops. -
That would be awesome but I have a hard time believing they would put it out on a Thursday before a long weekend. I am setting my expectations for July 27 or 28 to avoid disappointment.

Quote:It's funny. I didn't want Dual Pistols but I pre-purchased anyway so there'd be absolutely no delay for Demon Summoning which I do(did?) want badly. Then I tried Dual Pistols and I love them.'Cause a lot of people have been waiting ages for one or both of those sets and by making them available NOW they get a large number of sales before the expansion is even out.
And I wanted my Pistols NOW!
Going Rogue is going to be pretty awesome for me based on the news out so far. Is it July yet? -

1 hero will go Vigilante, 1 will go all the way to villain.
18 villains will go Rogue, possibly all the way to Hero. I think 7 of the 18 are certain to go Hero. -
Quote:Nope. You might want to post something in the Champion server forum but you will still need to coordinate being on at the same time to invite them. It's not a thing, per se. I want to have an open call for reelance superheroes at level 28 to 23. To start my own SG.
If this can't be done, I'll hit the streets loooking for heroes.
Although gaming for over 40 years, i am a computer **** dum. Is there a way to find out the CURRENT list of superheroes on a specific server?
Thanks, -
Quote:It's not exactly the equivalent since we don't know how much time/effort it will take to switch sides to the point of getting to use the opposing faction's market while a merged market would be immediate.allowing infamy/influence to cross sides is the equivalent of a market merger.
noting how ridiculously easy it is to gain merits heroside as compared to villainside, bringing over money from villainside after producing drops heroside in order to buy things heroside would create a ridiculous imbalance in prices both sides (temporary of course). -
Quote:I have to say this is about as stupid as a baseball fan ripping on football at a football game complaining that the usual football fans think their comments are unwelcome and stupid.Shocking that the usual suspects have an issue with what I said.
Or I could counter with "shocking that the usual anti-market self-righteous prigs come in trolling the market forum." -
I think people are mixing up red side content with red side market. As I understand it only true heroes won't have access to red side content and only true villains won't have access to blue side but everyone in between can access either side's content. And I think you have to complete crossing over to use the other side's market. So unless a hero would go all the way to villain they would still use Wentworths though much earlier on they would be doing villain missions.

Also don't ignore time in your decision.
It takes less time to buy SOs than to buy IOs or buy recipes and salvage and craft your own IOs but the SOs will need to be upgraded and replaced adding to their time factor while the IOs don't have to be. -
Quote:Or just one semi-competent (or better) teammate.I dunno, you could run them on oldstyle heroic (0/1player/noboss), rather than dropping them, assuming thats what you mean by the 18 day thing.
Every single character I have tried that arc with solo at that setting has succeeeded with minimal deaths.
The longbow ambushes on the glowie click mission were bugged the last couple of times I tried it. They spawn as allies not foes. -

Resumes from there. I lost two weeks due to being unsubbed 5 1/2 years ago.

Quote:Typically it seems so.Uh...what?
So, let me try to get this straight -- are you saying that you made a comment showing you understand clustering in random distribution, and then a comment claiming that clustering is irrelevant to the thread, and you stand by both comments? And that you meant to be helpful, and then meant to be unhelpful and sarcastic, and also you care enough to keep replying, but you want it to be known that you don't care?
Are you trying to demonstrate randomness through your posting? -
Quote:Yeah, we're dense. Clearly they coded all the enemies in the game to drop influence to heroes and convert it to infamy to drop to villains not just have different names for the same data element. Or maybe they have 2 fields in every single enemy that has the same influence and the same infamy values depending on who beats the enemy. That would make a lot of sense.Wow not to be mean but are you guys dense?
There is 2 huge reasons why they won't merge the market.
1: The Devs have said time and time again no to ways for turning imfamy into influence
2: You would have to program the market to go hey well this villian bought this thing but this hero bought that thing we need to give them the right kind of currency.
There is a reason why you can't use BM or WW until your fully side switched. Yeah there taking the easy route. But merging the market would lead to some huge exploits and the ability to convert currencies. But then I should just wait till GR actualy comes out.
Oh and I will leave out the times when villain drops say influence but it goes to the infamy total until the devs fix the label.
