    Hero goes Vigilante:
Hero retains access to blue missions and WW only.

Hero goes Vigilante then goes on to Villain:
Hero is now a Villain, has access to red missions and BM.

    Villain goes Rogue:
Villain retains access to red missions and BM.

Villan goes Rogue then goes to Hero:
Villain is now a Hero, has access to blue missions and WW.

I did not gather from the information provided on GR that a Vigilante or Rogue would have access to content on either side or markets thereof; is my interpretation wrong?

Would be so cool if it was...

    Stormy
It's really important to keep in mind that where GR is at anything could change but so far the only sources of information are the forum FAQ, interviews they have given and PAX East most recently.

Paragonwiki is tracking these on http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Going_Rogue

The only things you left out the Vigilante can access the Rogue Islands and team with villains and the Rogue can access Paragon City and team with heroes. At this time it is unclear whether the Rogue/Vigilante can initiate any opposite side content but clearly if they can team with the opposing factions in their zones they can at least join them in the missions.
  2. I hate when I forget to use my last shivan and do the refill that fails.

Probably a warning that we already have the power that will be awarded would be better or easier or perhaps something that resets it to the max counter.

As a comparison, the stealth and invisibility powers from patrolling BB and Sirens. You could have 1 second left on them and re-run the patrol and the powers will not be awarded. It really would be nice to not run into that simply because you forgot or you didn't know because it was your first time.

I'll just warn you it is a very non-combative role most of your "life" to 50. I even carried it to the extreme of taking the 3 Leadership toggles and the vet reward def/rec buff bot. I used to go afk on the old invincible setting after refreshing the pets' bubbles and let all the ambushes in bank mayhems come and get me. I fell asleep more than once playing him.

I am much happier playing my bots/dark and bots/storm because I have more things I can do and it's not as safe.

Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to earn 540 tickets and is that in a non-exploitative mission/arc?

Sounds like you both agree that creating a store that sells everything would give the original poster what he wants.
Yes but that was in response to the moving target as the OP was replied to and different comments in response to the responses.

I wouldn't have bothered posting that if the only responses were "I want a store. Period. Not open to discussion of what that means or would do."

That snippet he quoted and then asks if I read his OP is a complete re-contexting. My quote was a response to his later writing "What I would like to see is a reduction in prices so that I could spend less time farming/marketing, and spend that extra time actually playing with my friends."

My answer makes sense in context but not in the snipped quote he created.

Yes, and that was covered on page 1 all the problems it would cause and they did introduce stores for recipes except for purples and PvP using merits and MA tickets.

BTW it may have escaped your notice but people often pay more for common recipes than it costs to buy them off the invention tables. And for a while in I9 beta the devs didn't have those recipes on the tables either.

I posted my response with strong use of the word "personally": a word which I clearly and distinctly added (counting) three times in two posts. I also used "I" 15 times in those two posts.
What Smurphy wrote is important to keep in mind. There is no group think despite what the unwashed market haters claim other than most of us regulars here enjoy the markets/inventions in our own ways. Some are out flipping and some aren't. Even the flippers flip different stuff. Some of us craft low and sell high and some don't. But even the crafters tend to craft different stuff.

As for me and salvage, Blueside I toss in the rare salvage and luck charms into the base for SG members (which of late tend to only be my new alts) to sell to get a quick start. Everything else I sell now figuring to buy it back later.

Redside I save a couple of each uncommon and rare in the base for dryspells. I keep a supply of MA tickets to quick roll commons if they aren't available now too. But I don't care how much I spend to buy stuff in the Black Market as long as I can buy it soon or now.

There's a formular on www.paragonwiki.com that has the way recipe prices for vendors is calculated also but I never memorized it.

    vendor salvage prices:
    250 common
    1000 uncommon

SwellGuy do you mean City of heros and Villains combined pack? Does it add the free month to the trial days?

Again thx and hope I find 'more' friendly people in game, am a bit shy sometimes......lol
The 19.99 versions adds 30 days gameplay which is true of each of the Architect, Mac and GvE versions. Booster packs for 9.99 only give you ingame items, no time.

If you go to your NCSoft account and click on the Store and then the City of Heroes tab you will see the Architect Edition for 19.99, Good vs Evil (GvE) for 19.99, Mac special edition for 19.99, City of Heroes 19.99 and City of Villains 19.99 then the various packs including the Going Rogue prepurchase. If you click on each item you can see what you get from each but all the 19.99 versions give you one month's play.

I have only been back a little over three months (love the trench coat btw), and I have had no problem making money. I hooked up early with a good VG who gave me great advice, so I can make inf. I've already got 3 50's set out, though the only purples are on the Dom to achieve Perma-Dom. What I would like to see is a reduction in prices so that I could spend less time farming/marketing, and spend that extra time actually playing with my friends.
Drops work like DnD tables. Beat critter get fixed exp, inf and prestige (divided by teammates). Then it checks a random percentage for the various drops available which include recipes, salvage, enhancements and inspirations.

www.paragonwiki.com has the known drop rates.

You do not need to farm to get purples you just need to defeat enemies who can drop them which is level 47+ minions, lieutenants and bosses. Once you are 50 the minions need to be 48 so they are at least green to you. So you can play with your friends as long as the selected content has enemies that will drop purples.

Here is why a fixed price reduction would not help you:
    a) if the devs also went and crushed every possible out of market transaction so we could only sell to the fixed market maximum then you would be in line with everyone else who could afford them. People would not sell as many of them, they would save them for their alts and friends. Afterall if I am only going to get X million I may as well make sure my friends or alts get them not some market bidder I don't know.
    b) if the devs didn't close all the means of out of market sales that is where people would sell them for much more than the cap to people who would be bidding at the cap to get them. And again you would be in line with them waiting for your chance.

There is only two ways the devs could accomplish what you want.
    1. Implement stores that sell the items like SOs
    2. Change the currency of the markets to something no one has and all would have to re-earn.

Would you care to elaborate and explain your conclusion?

As far as I know no one was both an East German and a West German at the same time and despite the silly labels influence and infamy are earned in the game by the same means at the same amounts. A Rikti defeated would award the same amount of influence to a hero as infamy to a villain. A quartermaster would give a villain the same amount for a recipe or salvage as a hero side store.

The only economic disparity between the two sides is there are more heroes than villains so more total influence vs infamy is likely and heroes had a headstart to earn more and that headstart preceded bases which ended up siphoning off inf from characters to prestige.
  19. Last I recall reading every character can switch and switch back but only the 10 basic ATs can start in Praetoria. Kheldians and VEATs have to start at home and move later.

Heck depending on what magic fix the devs have in the works you might get one for much less come July assuming the magic fix is coming with Going Rogue.

Funny thing is there really isn't much they can do that would drive me to ragequit I just have mental objections to them fooling around too much with a player driven market. Kind of like when I order Coke and get told they only have Pepsi. I just order Sierra Mist or whatever but doggoneit restaurants should have both Coke and Pepsi!

Nitpick: a drop rate is based upon mob defeats. putting things on tables is aside from drop rates and unrelated. I think you meant supply in the market.

Most sets are cheap in the markets. If the devs put Thunderstrikes (which used to be cheap until people figured out how good the set is) on the table would they price it based upon it's desirability or some other factor?

The other issue is the markets are player driven. Players want X more than Y so they pay more to get X than they will pay to get Y.

Most people complaining about market costs come to the market to buy and rarely to sell. Or they got junk drops and want the good stuff. While that is normal human behavior and completely understandable it makes multiple drops rather pointless.

Ask yourself this, what if there were only one set for each type so there was no choice involved? Is that not what having everything buyable would basically boil down to among the players? Is that not what SOs are in the game?

The reason many people hate these kinds of suggestions is that it stems from forgetting that IOs are optional (though highly desirable) and they are loot so some of it is better loot than others. When it is all equally available who would take anything less than the best loot so why have any loot at all and not just give every character max abilities upon choosing?

Standing around fretting about the cause of market inflation does not increase the supply. Increasing the supply by getting them in AE is good for you and good for the market (because it's one less person chasing after the rares and bidding the price to the sky).

Just because you "might" get a decent recipe with the eight Bronze rolls with the 540 tickets would buy you is no reason to not spend those tickets on the sure thing. Random rolls guarantee you nothing. Not that I'm against them -- I think they're great.

But if you need rare salvage and can't afford it, you should obviously do what gets it for you in the shortest possible time. That it will also reduce inflationary pressures in the market is icing on the cake.
Getting one rare off market will not reduce inflationary pressures.

Lots of people doing it or lots of people refusing to pay the high prices will. Eventually the listing prices would need to come down to get sales.

So, get someone to that base level, AE to death and just keep rolling. Cheap random rolls? Who cares if I get 30 Fear recipes in that case? It's not as big a risk.

Intent - ok. Execution = abusable.
How is that dishonest or abusable? I am asking that seriously because that is exactly what I do with my lowbie heroes and villains after I get the Atlas Park mayhem/safeguard I play in AE to 10 and take my rolls and take the recipes to market.

People flew by level 10 and missed out on the KBs and want them at level 10 and they pay 5, 10, 20 million or more for them. If I weren't doing this then the supply would be that much lower and the prices would be even higher.

My level 10 has a huge nestegg to live off of and someone got a KB resist at the level they wanted. How is this bad? If someone wants one but doesn't want to pay they can do the same thing themselves. In fact that was how I got started doing it.

Emphasis, mine. Sounds like "very bad things will happen if the markets were merged" to me.
I'd have to say you are inferring that all problems are very bad things.

For example, a new problem from a merged market could include people getting angry about intermingling heroes and villains stuff. Plenty of people have objected to that since Day 1.

Not to mention it is just an economic forcast they made. This would not be in the same vein as "the markets would break and become nonfunctional." I mean to my mind that would be a very bad thing while people posting complaints would be status quo whether things change or not.

One economic forcast (which I believe would be wrong but often see people claim) is there is not enough activity to sustain two markets. As though the villain players would drag down the hero market. However since many of us play both sides when we are playing our villains we are doing nothing to support the blue market.

So it really could mean so many things that it is almost meaningless.

Honestly I'd recommend the GvE edition or the Mac edition (you don't actually need to play on a Mac). The temp powers from it you will want and are likely to buy separate any way.
