Getting used to it.
Still not liking it. -
<QR>
No thank you. I don't want another canned AT like this. -
I switched back to Virtue and it is working so my advice is to hop to another server and use it and then hop back.
-
At this point I am having no problem on Triumph so maybe the Virtue connection to the Wentworths' server was unplugged.
-
Wentworth's has been giving me trouble all day.
Very annoying. -
Quote:I'm not sure that is a valid comment where a Marvel based superhero movie is involved though. Marvel definitely knows about CoH (lawsuit).Yeah, but even more ridiculous to think that something in a major motion picture was ripped off from CoH.
It's not a stretch to me that at least one person involved in the development of that movie hasn't played or at least perused the game.
But either way, I cannot wait to see the movie tomorrow. -

Quote:There are many possibilities and that certainly is one but I expect that NCSoft should have an idea of what/where the numbers changed.Hmm . . . notice the steady decline after that? Maybe there was more of a PvP crowd than people thought (not to mention how many of them had multiple accounts active).
For all we know the free server transfers allowed RMTers to move inf around where before they were paying and now with Gleemail (tm) they would not need to move around at the $10/transfer fee. -

Quote:Very important that last paragraph. I think we all can see there are fewer people online but I am going to see what Going Rogue does. And like Clouded wrote, I am here until they kick me off. This is an excellent point that I left out of an analysis a while back.
NCsoft reports all financials in South Korean Won (KRW), whereas most of the income and expenses of the game are in US Dollars (USD). The KRW is down right now against the USD, which means that when you pay them USD $15, that is not as much on the books today as it was a year or two ago.
That's the bad news. The good news is on the flip side of the equation. Expenses such as wages and salaries, marketing in their primary market, physical production of media (game packages, etc.), hosting and maintenance costs of the U.S. servers--those are all also cheaper in the reported currency as well.
To paint a truly accurate picture, you'd need to map the numbers against the exchange rate. Ideally, you'd break it out by percentage of players using the different currencies, but even just tying it to the USD instead of the KRW, since most income and expenses are in USD, would be more informative than looking at the raw numbers.
I'm also not saying that there wasn't a drop. Q1 was a pretty big lull in between issues, and a pretty major competing game (Star Trek Online) did launch right in the middle of that lull, so it wouldn't surprise me if NCsoft took a hit last quarter. But don't panic yet. I suspect the true situation could be summed up, like it probably could be for the past couple of years, as not as good as they want it, but better than people are probably thinking.
And boy is Ultra Mode pretty on my machines that can run it. I have to think once the main problems some people are having get fixed it could give the right shot in the arm with GR. -
Well ignore doesn't have to be permanent. If someone is really irritating me I ignore them. Often you see people quoting them which reinforces leaving them on ignore (they are just trolls or complete morons) or taking them off.

Quote:And some pro commenters are merely pro that people don't crash at the market (which is a very good thing).Despite the fact that the devs never post in here, I'd really like to think they're at least monitoring some of the threads in here, esp one like this where the overwhelming majority are in agreement about a bad feature. I think I counted about 3 or 4 pro-new UI so far and everybody else against, most of us strongly.

Quote:I believe that was Lucy and Linus from one of the Peanuts cartoons. That doesn't excuse them for being crappy, nor makes your winking attempts at justifying them any more "cute."
There was a nice sketch from an old cartoon I've long since forgotten that comes to mind:
- You will do it and like it!
- I'll do it... But I won't like it!
You're wasting your time trying to explain the point to GG. Clearly at some level she is stuck in the "you get what you deserve for playing villains" mentality. -
I have 84 on my oldest character and the other really old ones have 60+.

And FYI, the RPers are going to be hating on the global name thing big time. Massively big time. They might hunt you down and /em kill at you. Who knows what they would do to the devs were it implemented.
-
Quote:Back up. Your post that I replied to mentioned not having to choose servers upon login.Of course you have the "same" global name on every server. By definition, that is what a global name is.
In your example, they could chose to... or not to... allow the same name to be used more than once on a single account. That's a design choice and I suppose there are plenty of valid reasons why they might chose one way or the other in a scenario where they cut the cord on using toon names for communication/email.
However, there is nothing about it that dictates they couldn't chose to allow it and having to rename your duplicates is in no way a consequence that absolutely follows from using global names.
That means my 12 Swellguys are going to all be on my character screens. What differentiates them? Perhaps I really like the name Piratey McPirate and I have 12 of them.
Also we currently max out at 3 screens of 12 characters. Do you think that will go to 33 screens of 12 characters max? Some people have more than 36 characters across the servers.
------
Another issue from serverless situation is supergroups which are duplicately named on other servers.
This thing is not the slam dunk no problem you seem to be painting. -
Quote:Would you be referring to our unique global name?Sometimes a poster posts without reading anything except the last post in a thread. That particular consequence, how it could be dealt with and what could possibly be some groundwork already in place for it has been covered.
If so I would point out to you that I have the same global name on every server along with that same character name as would Bill on his account/characters.
[edit] Oh goodie, you added links to your two earlier posts where you mention the global name.
Looks like you still fail then for my example and Bill's. -
Quote:The other consequence that leaps out at me is how many screens will I need to scroll through to see all my now combined list of characters at 12 per screen?Bill Z Bubba exists on every server. As a placeholder only on all but Pinnacle, but he exists there nonetheless.
Will I be given a free rename for every one of those Bill Zs with this server merge? Will I have to be stuck with BZB, BZB1, BZB2, BZB3, etc?
As usual, a poster posts without thinking through the consequences of their request. -
How would that work? Or do you not play on multiple servers where you have used the same name on them?

Quote:I can only find two points of adjustment.I would have to say that theres more to do blueside than red.
Want to hazard zone? Blue has em.
Want to earn +5 end without having to run a 40+ Tf? Blue has it
Want to earn 5% hp without needing to farm damage? just do blue tf's
Want to fight something besides Arachnos and Op'd longbow? Blue
Want a bank mission that you can finish without the timer starting? Blue.
Want new content? Blues will get it before red or they get it at the same time.
Want a varied Respec mission? Blue has 3 factions you can fight where as Red has the annoying Cot with thier acc debuffing ghosts at low levels and acc and rech debuffing ghosts at later levels.
Want a market that works for the most part? Blue.
Want to start somewhere besides mercy? you get a choice on Blue.
Theres many more reasons to go Blue than Red. I prefer the Red At's and the blue playground. Veats are much better than Squids but one At isnt enough.
Most (all?) red zones have hazard areas in them.
Mayhems are more fun than Safeguards. (an opinion, granted, but I like to see stuff explode)
