When you are using common IOs, you aren't going to benefit from overslotting Recharge Reduction in Eclipse and Damage Resistance in shields. Were those placeholders for set IOs?
-
I doubt they would ever seed the market. They already know how to increase availability (supply) and reduce prices on the markets for items (see Costume Recipes).
-
Well for bids. But I don't recall the FAQ covering stuff for sale.
-
-
One thing I think we may be overlooking is old bids and listings not getting resubmitted by some people due to either they won't be able to login all their characters or won't want to.
-
-
They had to do it today so they could give away the early codes today and have them work when people apply them.
-
Is this a good time/place to mention they are giving away codes later today for North American and might soon be doing it for EU?

Quote:I like "I could tell you but then [insert lead Dev name here] would kill me."I always liked the response, "I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you."
Castle wrote me something like that about Posi killing him during I9 closed beta testing when I suggested he drop some IOs on my character so I could test them for him. -
Oh and let's not forget it isn't just merged markets, it is trading and emailing between factions.
There's going to be a lot of unusual things going on come August. -
Going Rogue will cause 50s going for Incarnates and new characters hitting Praetoria and others crossing over.
Now if the markets were not merged where would the drops of the Praetorians and crossing characters be sold? Where would those people buy?
Sure there will be a lot of chaos as people adjust to the new merged markets but most chaos will be caused by those non-market related things.
So if you go to the market and see something is much higher than you were used to or much lower do not assume that is the prime buying/selling price.
By October we should have a better idea of where the prices have shaken out to and hopefully the red side hoarders will have unlearned years of behavior. -
Quote:The reason for RP blaming wasn't a universal RP blame. It was targetted specifically at the notion that there was only one way to RP the markets and that was that the heroes would never buy from the villains. Meanwhile many other RPing versions were indifferent or even pro-merger as you mention you could come up with. But that particular strain of RPer would not accept any version but their own.I honestly don't get all the RP-blaming. I'm an RPer, and I think a market merge is a good thing that's long overdue. I can think of a half-dozen RP justifications or excuses for a combined market, should I choose to acknowledge it in-character at all. The only thing keeping them separate was game design, which has apparently been rethought.
Don't blame players; blame the designers at Cryptic and/or Paragon who made and upheld the decision, and have finally reversed it. -
Quote:You weren't. You aren't.Before this glorious, shining day, I had every intention of moving any redside characters through the shift sneeded to get them out of the red market but keep access to the red content. No longer. Some might go grey but most will stay parked in the red. I am sure I am not alone.
In fact I will now move many of my heroes to my preferred red side content.
My joy at getting to keep mayhems, Television and patrons (yeah I like them a lot) plus have access to a larger market for all my characters is beyond my ability to describe. -
Quote:Anyone who thinks Zombie Man is wrong is going to lose a lot of inf. You guys have less than 2 months to get your inf moved to mules, I'd get started.2 Billion inf cap is a cap.
A cap.
Getting around that with Market tricks is not a license to exceed the cap. If anything is done by the Devs that causes excess inf beyond to the cap to disappear, then, it's working as intended.
When asked, the Devs have always said using the Markets to get passed the cap is not WAI.
The Devs are being nice with all this warning so that people can get their affairs in order. -
Quote:Perhaps it is because the following points from your opinion are not opinion but assumed facts that are fallacies? Why on Earth would my *opinion* need fixed?
Edit: Wow... so many people trying to *correct* my opinion. One would think there might be something to it. 8D
Quote:However, the Marketeers that are creating the same manipulations in the market today (1,000,000 common salvage, for example) are simply being given a larger playing field. Quote:I want to use the market to get a specific piece of salvage or something,
especially with the intro of the temp combat powers.
On blue side, that tended to be difficult at best, but at least on red side it could be done more times than not.
When a person states things as facts that are not and uses those "facts" to form their opinion, it is not defensible to say their mis-facrts are okay because it is part of their opinion.
But you go you with your "logic".
Clearly millions telling you the world is not flat would mean you were on to something. -

Quote:Too much wrong nonsense in this to fix.In a logical world, that would be true. However, the Marketeers that are creating the same manipulations in the market today (1,000,000 common salvage, for example) are simply being given a larger playing field.
Like I've said earlier, I don't tend toward playing the market mini-game. As a rule I slot what drops, but occasional I want to use the market to get a specific piece of salvage or something, especially with the intro of the temp combat powers. On blue side, that tended to be difficult at best, but at least on red side it could be done more times than not. This change - and I truly hope to be proven wrong - is going to benefit a specific group of players to the detriment of all the others.
I think the devs have based this idea solely on "ease of maintainability" with little regard towards the player base as a whole.
But that's just me. I guess we'll see when the dust settles in September or Novemeber. -
Quote:Hugs and love!!!A few of you have made comments about the RP aspects of this merger, so Id like to discuss that a bit.
Influence and Infamy have always encompassed more than just the kindness and goodwill of the citizens of Paragon and the fear and terror which allows you to extort denizens of the Rogue Isles. Yes, some if of it is actual resources which can be taken with you. Its also assumed that if you are leaving one city for another that you would cash out and call in every favor youre due on the way out. This is all handled for you behind the scenes, but from an in-character perspective thats effectively whats going on.
If you feel as though some of that goodwill and extortion earned is something you shouldnt be able to take with you, stay tuned to Going Rogue information for something in this vein. However, it will not be INF in any fashion.
As for the Market Merge, two recent developments in Primal Earth are responsible for this change:
One is the sudden emergence of a large number of fallen heroes and redeemed villains moving between the spheres of Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, calling neither place home. These powered individuals live in shades of grey, and facilitate the trading of goods and services in secret between the two worlds.
The other is not quite such common knowledge. Out of nowhere, Wentworths has gained access to new suppliers, but all suspicions and investigations have been stymied by the immaculate paperwork of their new partners. Likewise, the Black Market has suddenly seen a rise in activity, though no one has looked too closely at the why so long as the goods are solid. For now, it remains a mystery.
Hmmm....

Quote:There are so many posts to quote but I am going to choose this one.I couldn't entirely care less if the reason they were doing it is because they siphon our joy weepings into their grim chalices, mixing with the blood of infants that were born seeing pain and terror before seeing their own mothers.
My markets are getting merged, bizzlenitches.
Thanks devs! -
Quote:qftas a member of the ae community, i think you need to realize that not everyone uses ae as a story telling medium. I use it to create missions that are the equivalent of a radio mission. I also use it, when it suits me, to create story arcs.
As to your point about junk creation, that's not something either you or i can control. Not everyone will create well crafted works of art.
The mission above isn't even published. I unpublish it as soon as i'm done since i have no expectations that anyone else other than myself would use it.
Funny, that as soon as i publish something that is universally well known that i get the exploit tag on this thread. There's no super secret on creating a farm mission nor do you have to use a farm mission in order to generate ma tickets. I also resent having to be politically correct in my posts saying that you shouldn't use farms, etc. And that you should only use well crafted story arcs. Bah humbug to that.
I think being transparent and telling the truth is more important than trying to purposely send a message to potential users of ma. -
EvilGeko's brain asploded with the market merging news.
-
This is not true. There were threads on this page and in the Going Rogue section with official information.
