    This makes sense to me.

There is no reason obvious to me why you should be held back by this one week timer if you like to play one character while I get to alt hop across my Incarnates and do basically the same thing just spread out over many characters.

I feel like I should form a group of Altoholics supporting non-Altoholics.

Besides I really hate these week long timers. They are more annoying to track than the once per day (20 hours) ones.
  2. Kind of similar to TonyV.

Cost reasons: I am on the 14 months for the price of 12 option so averaging $10 or so per month, I get 550 points, 1 token.

$10 barely buys 2 breakfasts any more and is almost what a matinee costs to see. I cannot beat the hours of fun per dollar the game gives me so I have no problems paying for the game.

Practical reasons: paying base rent, Incarnate stuff

Non-essential reasons: VIP access to powersets and such that I'd have to otherwise buy to unlock

I just don't see any gain for me in dropping from VIP to Premium.

Now if I couldn't afford the year long sub and had to pay month to month and if money were that tight I'd probably come up with some way to subscribe every other month or 4 weeks on and 6 weeks off so I could at least keep my SG base lights on.

    Side Effects

I hope it goes a bit higher. But I am using my converters I am getting as drops so I still have my Reward Merits to use for other purposes.

    Lewis.
    This is how I feel.

Also, whenever I look at tankers, brutes and stalkers it is always in comparison to scrappers.

I love brutes because I can do scrapper lock like a scrapper.
While I feel safer playing my tankers, I find myself wishing I was a scrapper.
While I enjoy assassin's strike attacks, I miss the straight up and in your face style of my scrappers.

Scrappers rule. It's what my other ATs aspire to be.
  5. Not sure if you want to mention it in your guide but they do also drop from enemies. I got 2 last night. I would guess that they are rare drops based upon getting 2 of them.

    I'm a total newbie.

As I do have money, but little time to gather inf in game, the store bought IOs seemed interesting.

Do you get the actual IOs, or recipes, and what level are they?

I actually came to this forum looking for similar information as the OP.
+5 means use Enhancement Boosters (+1 for each one used to the max of 5 per IO) on the enhancement but store bought ones won't take boosters.

When you buy one or a set from the Paragon Market, they show up in the 3rd email group to be claimed by one of your characters. If you buy the set, each one of the enhancements shows on the list.

If the enhancement is levels 10-30 then you cannot slot them until you are 7 (or possibly 10, I cannot remember if they are hard locked to their minimum level). They level up as your character levels up. They cannot be traded or sold but you can email them to your own account in email.

Are you familiar with the expression cutting off the nose to spite the face?

I only ask because of your assertion that you don't care how many converters it takes. At a certain point it would become that.
  8. I honestly thought they would sell converters in the Paragon Market. I am a bit surprised.

It's the only primary set that controllers have that doms do not have. Not sure if there is a reason other than it has not been done.

But I love my new dark/dark dom.

As for the rest? No appreciable change...

    Converters cost money.

There's little rational reason to use them except towards the high ticket stuff.

Would you use a convertor on a Thunderstrike, Doctored Wounds, Crushing Impact,
or any of dozens of other decent IO's?

    I seriously doubt it.

    Exactly my feelings about them.

I know someone was talking about converting regular IOs into the special ones like Numina's or a Miracle, etc. and I responded that I will only use mine on PvP and Purple IOs. Not even ATOs seem to be worthy of using a converter on them though I may change my mind if I end up with excess converters.
  13. What they ought to do, sell something else that is cheap and easy for them to make or they already have and use that to fund the power customizations.

What did we buy a few years ago that paid for VEATs? Was it the Valentine's package?

I alternate between platinum pieces and a Beavis & Butthead reaction to "pp"

Unless a mission says to defeat something in a particular place then you can defeat them anywhere and it counts.

So if it is just defeat 50 Carnies you defeat them anywhere including in any mission. Defeat 50 Carnies in Peregrine Island then you have to be out in the open zone.
  16. If you street sweep in Peregrine Island they randomly spawn in a variety of locations.

Just covering all the bases, you are writing it as @global in the To field, right?
  19. Are you sending it to your global handle or the individual character's name? Items can only be sent via the global.

some very safe sweet activity for 2xp weekends is common IOs. People start scarfing those up early in the week and the appetite is never sated until late Sunday.

Unfortunately, yes. In our defense this can happen in a number of ways.

They could wait to release it when it is fixed (the best scenario) so we are removed from the equation.

They can release it broken (like any number of other game things). I realise there is a difference between things on the Paragon Market to buy vs things included in our subscription but for some people they may be subscribing for that item so they are effectively giving PS money for broken things also.

Since releasing broken stuff is sadly normal for the online gaming industry, we purchasers are left with the choice to buy it broken or not buy it.

In our defense since we expect that they will eventually fix it, buying it broken on sale makes more sense than waiting to buy it fixed and not on sale unless we can reasonably expect that the message sent of not buying broken stuff will put a stop to the industry norm of selling broken stuff.

I don't see much hope that the industry will change and they have conditioned most of us to buy broken stuff and wait for them to fix it.

And once they sell it to us we do have a stronger case to demand that they fix it. (he says with only a small amount of hope)

If BM is going to be released next week then they had better hurry up and make some serious fixes and get them up on test. I mean they would not release a set without the changes needed would they, stares at Dark control umbral beast in MM Bodyguard mode, and the powers soul absorption and fade.

Well Dark was free so releasing it unfinished while not ideal is forgivable to help meet the I22 release date right? I wonder what excuses the fanbois will use to justify BM being released unfinished and for pay.

    Have at it fanbois.

However if it is released on sale it could be argued to buy it on sale and wait till they fix it to use it (pretend you have pre-ordered).

I wouldn't mind them letting us pre-order powersets like those so they know how desired (or not) these are.

Luckily they cant seem to keep up or they got greedy cause now while it occasionally sells for that 1/3 of what I have mine listed for, now it mostly sells for about 2/3rds. Which still undercuts my price. Supply has also increased to about twice what it used to be back when I first started playing with this particular enhancement.

How do I go about protecting my niche? I already had a couple bids set at 1/3 the price and ended up grabbing one and putting it back on the market for what I usually price it at. But I'm getting tired of seeing all my listings sitting there for weeks now not getting sold and supply doesn't seem to be dropping. So the whole being patient and waiting for whoever else is using this spot on the market to lose steam isnt working. Obviously I need more aggressive tactics. Advice from market masters would be greatly appreciated.
    Find them and kill them.
