Quote:I feel like I am going to pass out. Not joking.I don't care who at this point. I'm deep in denial. If any other companies out there that want to save this game, please come rescue us.
SOE - I will sub and buy station cash and even wash Smedley's car!
EA - I will keep my SWTOR sub open as an incentive. Hell, I'll even sub to The Secret World!!
Turbine - Don't know much about you guys, but I haz money!
PLEASE!!! -
Quote:I think your son has excellent taste. (I love mayhem missions too.)Okay, discovered the big problem with Mayhem missions- they're so fun that now my son *only* wants to play Mayhem missions. And when we're out running around the city he constantly wants to stop and "blow up" cars, trucks, bus stops & mailboxes.
THANKS A LOT, PARAGON STUDIOS! =P
My solution has been to keep a villain with a full newspaper mission bar parked at the brokers for instant access. A clumsy workaround, but effective.
Been doing not much exciting this week, just some generic leveling. I have a guy in the range for the First Ward, so I'm going to check that out. I logged in Crafticus, my field crafting tank, to get him a level and found that tanks just *need* teams to be interesting for me...well, non Fire tanks, anyway. Even at a pretty low level he's impervious to most harm, but it takes him a relative eternity to plow through a mission (shield/mace).
Continuing to bank hero/villain merits.
Made a character for the Meme Costume Contest, which I probably won't be able to attend, but I figure I'd at least get a screenshot for this thread out of it so why not.
And a non-game related superhero note, Marvel's The Super Hero Squad Show is by far my favorite superhero teevee show. It showed up on Netflix instant a bit ago, and my son is obsessed. It's definitely aimed at young kids, but it really captures the feel of what I liked about the 'universe' concept and it's 'everything plus the kitchen sink' approach to heroes & villains co-existing has a very City of Heroes feel.
Very fun, when he wants to watch one I often as not sit down with him. -
I have very negative feelings on the new tray.
If they give us an option to turn it off I will simply do that since I have been playing with the keybinds and such for 7 years now on kheldians.
I see its utility to new players and playstyles of some but for me it is an eyesore and a distraction. Blame it on my high functioning autism if you want but it throws off my screen view and is impairing my Nova and Dwarf play. -
Oh that's right. You haven't discovered time travel yet and so you don't know </ENDTRANSMISSION>

Quote:Or even simply an option on each power. (Simply stated that is. I am not saying anything about implementation.)TBH, I think this is another miss for the devs and I don't know why they continue to miss so badly when they have enough information "not" to miss.
The devs know and have known for a fact that many people want a way to turn KB sets/powers into KD, we have dealt with this issue for years in the Kheld and Blaster forums and the devs have from time to time participated in those discussions.
This should have been a regular IO that anyone can buy to change KB to KD.
Oh well. -
Quote:There's really only 3 options for us:Automated? I petitioned for a refund making this a rather manual process and was refused one by each gm in succession, the last one being pretty smarmy on top of that.
Not once did a gm suggest the software couldn't do it due to a software limitation and since I know of a user who accidentally doubled up on a costume pack, petioned for a refund and got one I know for a fact they can be done. Please stop making excuses for these people
1. roll with it
2. unsub
3. not buy any more SBEs
Which one we choose depends on how we view what they did. For me they created a complete lack of trust in them that they will stand behind their product. They messed this up royally. The only good customer service model would be to at least refund a customer's Paragon Points and remove the SBEs from the customer's inventory.
Not only do they not do that, they put out another set of SBEs which people were saying were overpowered.
I guess my point is that you and Uber are arguing over the first time as if this were a one time thing and that's not really what is going on. That they refused to refund your points and they turned around and did it again shows me they lack the character to stand behind their product.
It really doesn't matter what they can or cannot do as much as what they did and continue to do. -
It is very annoying and very noticeable even moreso when I have just quit to character selection.

None of mine. I save the Reward Tokens for things I cannot get any other way.

Quote:Thank you for this. I would have been looking all weekend.FYI, The event doesn't start until next week after Tuesday's maintenance. Just to make sure everyone's not waiting around all weekend on pins and needles
. Also, while there will be a live element to it (more to come) the event is also scripted and will run simultaneously on all servers. (We got a weeee bit burned out running live events for a month straight last year

Reading this is giving me the bug to try the Drowning in Blood and Death From Below.

My Fortunata is meh to me like my peacebringer. I am not saying either of those are bad, they just don't do it for me.
I like my crab but I don't see him as a tankmage. I am working on my bane (I don't do the dual build thing) and am withholding judgement until I get it to 50. -
Quote:I do not like them selling any of the dropped inventions set enhancements on the Paragon Market even in the account locked state they do. In my opinion it is already easy enough for anyone to play some number of hours, earn Reward Merits and/or hero/villain merits and simply buy every one of them except for PvP and Purple IOs.At this point I just do not see any difference between selling purple sets on the market and them just selling INF so a player can buy sets in game that are not listed on the market yet or just selling a Power leveling service. Heck while they are at it they might as well take custom orders for your choice of AT and how you want it slotted and with what sets. All they need to do is take a mids build and have it auto build the toon for them.
All they are doing now is just slowly selling off the farm. Might as well just kick it into high gear and go all out and be done with it.
I cry DOOOOMMM honestly
However to compare people being able to convert their real money into an account bound Purple to people being able to convert real money into ingame money which is not account bound is a flawed view. As would be comparing being able to buy XP boosts to buying a powerleveling service. This is like saying selling matches means they may as well sell us nuclear reactors since both generate energy. -
Quote:True. What is especially crummy about this is that they have done this, again. If forums are any indicator, it's far more common a misconception that this is what happens all the time, and that it will happen in their favor whenever something they don't like is covered by an EULA. Or rather, perhaps, that anything they don't like is actually a crime.
There's lots of crummy ways to treat customers that aren't illegal. The usual extent of the penalty is that those customers go away. If you're crummy enough, you lose more from doing that than you make by being crummy. If you're not that crummy, life goes on.
In my opinion anyone who buys an SBE is throwing away Paragon Points which would be better spent on just about anything else in the Paragon Market.
What next? It's too overpowered to have the SBEs that level up with your character so we're changing them to being fixed at the lowest level they exist.
All I can do is never buy additional Paragon Points. I'll use my stipend from my subscription but Paragon's not seeing one additional penny from me after my subscription. -

Quote:Generally I agree but I've been saying since they added the PvP zones, and I am not a PvPer, if you go into the PvP zone to get something that something is not a PvE reward it is a PvP reward. To my recollection the devs "fixed" all of them except the one villain accolade which requires time spent in Sirens. That is wrong and a mistake if it is still in place. But so to is the mindset of players who feel a Shivan or a PvP zone exploration badge is a PvE reward they should be able to get without the risk of PvP.See, this is something I said as early as Issue 6 - trying to get players into PvP who don't want to PvP, but are there for PvE rewards is a mistake. All this does is get players who want to AVOID PvP and will get angry if they're killed while making PvP players come off as villains for killing them. That practice of getting people into PvP zones who don't want to fight other players, thus forcing them to do something they don't want, is responsible for a LOT of the bad blood around here.
Anyone who wants those temp stealth/invis/phase powers, the shivan pet, nukes, badges, etc. are getting a PvP reward not a PvE reward whether they actually have to fight or not and whether they can use it in PvE or not. The possibility of getting PvPed is part of the risk I take when I go get a Shivan, etc. If I hated that risk as much as some I would not go get those rewards but they are PvP rewards by virtue of requiring the risk of getting PvPed. -
Quote:It's possible no answer would satisfy the asker but the simplest answer is we get our points each month so even at 400/month a person could buy 6 powersets per year with them without paying extra money to buy more points.I don't necessarily require the "2 free a year" statement. I'm only asking this since I was getting grilled by a new VIP player who didn't understand why it wasn't free. I tried to explain as best as I could why it wasn't free for VIPs, but I was curious myself as to why it wasn't.
Some people don't want the new powersets, for example I did not buy Street Justice or Titan Weapons, but I did buy Beast Mastery and Staff Fighting. That leaves my other points from subscribing to buy other things on the Paragon Market.
Sometimes they give out new costume pieces and sometimes we need to buy them like before Freedom. Now you can save those points to buy them whereas before you had to pay above the subscription to get them.
Before Freedom we did have to buy some powersets or the release like Going Rogue which they were part of so not everything was "free" to subscribers even before Freedom.
So really, technically under Freedom if a subscriber is willing to wait they can have the stuff for "free" using points awarded as a subscriber. -
Even right after CoV launched and people were slugging it out in Sirens it was fun.

Quote:I wonder would it be any worse if they simply nuked special PvP rules and gave up on trying to balance things?Mechanically PvP needs a lot of work. It's a list that's a mile long. I'm sure most of us do not have the slightest clue how to balance the archetypes and PvP mechanics when we barely understand them as there are now. I think that are a few things that they can do in the short-term (this year?) that they can change to improve the arena and hopefully get some support for PvP.

It's not fun for me in how it is setup in this game and I have doubts as to whether it can really work well with the way our powers work.
It's not like a shooting game where everyone is equal.
In theory it could be a lot of fun (heroes vs villains, Praetorians vs Primals) but it just isn't. -

Quote:That's the issue right there. They almost immediately realized there was a problem and instead of pulling it from the market or posting a warning they kept right on selling it.Yeah. When I said earlier that I wasn't pleased with how they've handled this, stuff like that is what I meant.
While it was pretty obvious that it was going to get nerfed/changed, their lame response to the issue, that is none at the time to warn buyers, has given me pause to ever buy another SBE. Scratch that. It has given me pause to buy anything I might pre-purchase for future use on a character.
I think a similar analogy might be when they upgraded store bought inspirations to last 5 minutes. They put them on sale. A player runs out and buys a bunch. A couple months later they decide whoops, that is way too long. They downshift them to 2.5 minutes. Still 5x as long as a dropped inspiration in game but half what was being sold.
It's crappy customer service. They need to be smarter and more careful with what they sell on the Paragon Market under the Freedom model not sloppy we'll nerf it later if we mess up. I see no indication they have a concerned or concientious attitude about their sales. They are still acting like we are under the old "all is subscriber and we can nerf it if we want to and when we want to".
That's fine but this customer who has been quite spend happy in the Paragon Market has become a person who pays his sub and uses those points to buy in their market but I am not spending another penny on buying points to get things.
tl;dr I am moving from a subscribed and spending another $10/month on average for Paragon Market goodies customer to a subscribed and use the stipend points only customer. -
2. if you are still in caves/tunnels, there is a door in a room to take you to the outside temple area which is up top of the hill

I'd recommend this on paragon wiki http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Alpha_Slot_Abilities
First you will want to decide which alpha ability you want then you will need to decide how you want to go about getting the parts to craft it.
I'd also recommend running one of the SSA arcs twice (whichever you can do most quickly) to get the weekly rewards of an astral merit and 10 astral threads.
