I've been pointing this out everywhere but double XP does NOT equal leveling twice as fast. The work it takes to get from 1-7 will get you to 10 this weekend.

In fact, the ONLY people who will level twice as fast (based on the numbers) are people between 40 and 50.

My 32 will get to 40, working as hard as it normally takes to get to 36.

The trick is that because required XP goes up, higher levels get a bigger break than lower levels. And between 40 and 50, XP needed to level caps off. Meaning that the XP from 40 to 41, when doubled, will get you to 42.

But you won't see newbies getting level 20s out of this unless they put the work it normally takes to hit 16 or so.

I plan to use this with my 32 to avoid the late 30s grind and shoot for level 40. If I get the chance, I'll try to marathon play tomorrow and go up a level or two before so that I can take better advantage of the event.

The higher your level, the bigger the advantage this event gives you.

I think you are correct but that is because it takes about 1 hour tops to get to 6 and the last time I bothered to clock myself I can get to 10 in 9-10 hours teaming and 12 soloing. So the low level savings in time is small.

My 36 is going to the 40s for sure.

Not to be a total wet blanket, but there really was only about 4-6 good days when the event wasn't anti-climatic or dominated by nasty spawn-camping. At the end, it was a huge distraction from actually playing, with half the playerbase pretending to be a mediocre Chinese powerlevelling service. It's telling that subsequent events have never come close to reproducing the haphazard design of it. The past Holiday event was much closer in intent to what the devs wanted and much less disruptive with lasting after-effects.

I just want to say one good thing though. Some of us got mightily bored with the WL game and we found each other for some great teams.

It was my first time on an AV team (Dr. Vahzilok) and it was all because of the WLs. Well, getting sick of them anyway.

And my level 25 blaster (at the time) was able to clear his debt.

Of my 56 heroes, 33 are Celebrants. And I only made 2-3 of them since Christmas so 53-54 have the Christmas badge (all the villains have theirs too) and way too many have Toymaker. It was then that I realized I need to stop (until I hit 50 and make my Peacebringer and Warshade).

Some people think the "I'm 50 and bored" complainers are whining because there is no broken contract between you and the company. They have not promised any new content once you've maxed out your character. Statesman has stated that level 50 is the cap for the time being - no plans to raise it.

I'm sure they will continue to gradually add stuff to the ENDGAME (that word has 'end' in it - could it mean something?), but nothing radical until CoV comes out this time next year.
