Thanks. That was interesting. They should post a link to this off the main page. (Assuming they haven't...

Well I was no where near my damage cap. When I am damage capped I can beat a Giant Monster.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about ... Enough already.
We all know you're a god ... No need to go on and on and on about how UBER you are.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, go on about how uber I am. I have won many costume contests with different characters on different servers. Kneel before me! -

Nerf Arcanaville!!
[/ QUOTE ]
I tried, but she baffled me with logic and I ended up buffing her instead. *shakes fist*
[ QUOTE ]
Wait, did you just call me Optimus? I noticed you quoted my response.
[/ QUOTE ]
D'oh! My bad! This is a Prime example of what happens with lack of sleep!
[/ QUOTE ]
Please, take the day off and get some sleep. I wouldn't want the wrong power modified. -

You do realize I've done this so far with Stone Armor/Super Strength (Tanker) and Fire/Fire Brute? Next is probably going to be a Corruptor. If they start nerfing, they may as well do another global nerf cause I can do this with any character.
Or they could buff AV's.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or we could reduce the effectiveness of a suite of Temp Powers. Shivans and the Nuke's are pretty dang good.
And before more people jump on Optimus, we've known those powers were over the top since they were created.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you're saying you're definitely gonna nerf Fire/Fire, yes?
[/ QUOTE ]
Which fire/fire do you mean? Blasters, tankers or villains? -

Can you top this single bonus in double exp weekend? I soloed Ghost Widow and nearly got 1.5 bubbles in a single kill.
Check out the combat log

Bile in EB form one-shotted my unsuspecting blaster. Oh wait, that would not be topping yours. Never mind. Gratz. -

Just a question here. why would you 3 slot Super Speed? Two slots maxes it from all that I understand, heck most enjoy it with just 1 slot..
[/ QUOTE ]
I had the same question. Supes is plenty fast with one SS slot. I am working on mine, he is 32. -
No reason for this game to be under fire given some of the others out there.
I think games can cause already inclined people to behave more badly but when I was a young un we ran around "shooting" at each other outside so maybe not. -
Thanks. This is very good to know. Not even looking at that bar again.

Really enjoyed Faultline, but finding the mission entrances to the ruins is very hard. I looked for a long time, and now in this thread find that its there somewhere.
Can you place a door in front of the tunnel, and have the mission marker on the map go to it first? As it is, I dropped one (which I would like back now if I can find the entrance) and would have the other as its just too hard to find.
The greatest challenge in a mission should not be to find the door.
Other than that, the new area is great.
[/ QUOTE ]
Warning, you will see this in Brickstown a lot too. Not condoning it, just gotten used to it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Jim will introduce you to non-Faultline contacts, and then after taking one of the contacts, you must talk to him again to get the next Faultline contact.
[/ QUOTE ]
After all the Hollows confusion, you'd think they'd stop doing things like this. -

The webpage says the Gamester will put presents in the zones on the 18th, but the email I received says the 21st.
Is the Gamester just trying to keep us on our toes?
[/ QUOTE ]
We decided to move the "phase 2" of the event up to the 18th so that people would have more opportunities to open presents. Because well, we all love the presents!

CHILICHEESE FRIES <O_O>
What? >.< I just had some <;_;> They were yum!

Chilicheese fries can be the best. Or they can be really, really bad (bad chili or bad fries). mmmmmmm. I want some now! -

The delays are mainly because there is alot more being jammed into each issue, not because of anything you have listed.
Looking at the number of issues isn't really fair especially when you consider that issues like 'Colosseum' had almost nothing in the way of content added and 'A Council of War' simply added the Kheldians and their story arcs. Issue 8 is adding safeguard missions, veteran rewards, the new costume options, new powers, a whole new zone and its giving powers an overhaul.
In terms of raw bulletpoint features the issues might have more of a gap between them but they contain a great deal more additions.
[/ QUOTE ]
And this is the annoying thing for me. By jamming all this stuff in each issue, they're holding up stuff that's ready to go. Wouldn't it be much better to release the stuff as it's ready? For example, if Faultline is ready to go, but Vet Rewards isn't, release Faultline now, and then take the time to fix Vet Rewards. Every issue, they jam stuff in that holds up the stuff that's ready to go.
Smaller updates more often please.
[/ QUOTE ]
/Agreed. I'd rather have smaller mini-updates closer together. Though from a programming point of view I can see how having larger one time updates would make it easier to find bugs and such.
[/ QUOTE ]
and I am pretty sure they have told us they have different developers for different parts of the game. so group A is doing costumes, B is doing story arcs, etc.
They would have crossover in some parts but you'd also have areas of stand-aloneness yet in order for them to do internal testing it would all be together.
If A and B didn't mix and come out together it is possible that releasing B after A would be a mess.
Just a thought. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah... the update schedule is slowing down. Rapidly. Well, I can't really say that. It doesn't seem to be slowing down. It seems to have hit first gear and then it appears to have been set on cruise control.
I figured that I7 would have been the exception... but it seems it's going to be the rule. Six months to a year between releases. At this point we won't be calling them by their numbers, we'll be referring to them by their respective years. At this point issue seven will be "the issue of 2006". It doesn't look like things are speeding up at any point, and I expect we'll see things like the invention system sometime before 2008.
It was made clear a long time ago... changes are simply not something to wait for. You either like this game as is or you don't and move on. But don't expect any changes.
Zeus - god of expectations
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought we were supposed to expect the powers we like to change?(Oh I know what kind of changes you mean. Just having fun...)
-
I guess I look at it as the game goes and grows the complexity makes it harder and harder to add meaningful content.
Which got me thinking: If the game were frozen, never to change, how many would stay and play anyway? Besides me. -

The storyline for me. I like the feeling that my charecter is part of an epic story.
[/ QUOTE ]
See, I'm the opposite. Even as an old-school comics nerd who loved story-driven games like Fallout, I am barely conscious of the fact this game has storylines because of the way they're not integrated into the game. It is amazingly possible to go from 1 to 50 and have no idea at all what the major storylines of the game are.

#1 Issue right here.
#2 PvP competition implimentation.
As for what I like?
I like the combat, which doesn't seem to be a choice so I guess I won't vote.
[/ QUOTE ]
but if you don't vote, you can't complain. It's what 'they' say. -
[ QUOTE ]
If I could choose multiple I would have chosen everything except PvP which can die a slow painful death.
[/ QUOTE ]
you mean it isn't already? -
[ QUOTE ]
Interesting how 10% (atm) put PvP and yet IMO that part of the game gets more than 10% of the focus.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd have to look, and it could have been deleted, but last year I made a comment in a thread to someone who was vehemently opposed to PvP (it might have been on the CoV beta boards though) that this PvP was different.
It would not appeal to typical PvPers. I think that they made a casual player friendly PvP system here.
So, anti-PvPers will not play it and typical PvPers will not play it. Leaving just a few of us who wander in now and then for fun and the few who do love what they have. One of the guys in our SG rarely comes out since he is above the auto-SK/EX level of Sirens.
I drop influence on him so he can change his costumes.
I am actually surprised PvP is getting 10% at the moment. -
I love the stories. I read them. I repeat the ones I really like.

(sigh) so I guess Cryptic's not working on a Deadlands MMO....
G'luck, shane. Ya done good here.
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope someone is...
that is one MMO I would actually pay to play besides this one. -
The United States of America is a democratic republic.

My only complaint about costs for bases is the rent system.
I pay for my things every month plus I pay for my savings to pay my rent. It's some twisted property/income tax thing where if I do nothing, I pay again the next month (less the amount I paid the previous month's affect on my rent).
I can swing the build costs and rent isn't a problem I can't handle though I don't like its structure.
But I have to go to Atlas Park to pay it.
I'd like to setup a direct withdrawal account, please. Or can I mail that guy in City Hall a check? How about an escrow account with my mortgage company? -
Fly.
In some zones where my mission is on the other side (IP springs to mind), auto pilot
In zones like the Shard, easy travel without effort.
There is no mountain high enough or valley low enough I can't get easily in and out.
Yes, it is not fast (compared to the others) but that is offest by it's cruise control. -
[ QUOTE ]
...The first time I went into a mission, and the enemy mentioned my character by *name*. That was the moment I officially fell in love with the game.

Someone sent me a tell and was surprised that I was really there. They were going off a pedestrian's glowing praise of Swellguy.
