So what needs to happen to make the Zone minigames better? I would say instance them and make them team-required like Battlegrounds, but then they aren't Zone minigames.

Let's start with the Shivan Shards. Obviously, the Pets were made very powerful to motivate around the idea that you are fighting other players for them, but that isn't happening.

What would change this equation? Is the zone just too big?

What makes, say, Capture the Flag more fascinating than battlling big green Rad Monsters and other players over super-pets?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The thing is all you can really do is deny an opponent getting them. It doesn't get you much else. Is it one meteor fragment if I beat you?

It's just easier to wait for them to clear the base, then slip in and get your own or move to another base unless you are just there to keep the opposing faction players from getting shivans.

Bounties in Sirens used to matter when SOs were hard to come by and mattered. I9 killed that.

Warburg is similar to the shivans with the added element of shooting (sometimes accidentally) another hero/villain if you aren't teamed with them.

I haven't spent hardly any time in RV so I cannot comment on that one.

SwellGuy: Your either more aggressive on the market or just plain luckier than me

    [/ QUOTE ]

Probably a little of both. But I noticed MA had driven up common salvage, even the highest level stuff like Ceramic Armor Plate which used to be vendor trash so I would list it all for at least 255 (when there were 0 bidding) and even higher on others where more were bidding than for sale.

And uncommons? Well what can I say, nothing better than getting an uncommon salvage drop and having people pay 100k for it.

I'm holding onto my rares until they rebound.
  3. SwellGuy

    WHY?!

    [ QUOTE ]
and I'm lovin every minute of it.

Burn tickets on common salvage until I get what I want.

Sell excess on the market and tadaa! Profit!

    [/ QUOTE ]

And if you have recipes memorized you can turn some of the salvage into common IOs people are paying nutty amounts on.

Second, what are you running? If you're cashing in Architect Entertainment tickets for DOs or SOs...well, it actually works out pretty good that way. DOs and SOs are quite cheap if you use tickets for 'em.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have 6 AE tickets, but I'm mainly soloing story arcs on this guy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With 8 tickets, take a random common arcane salvage from the ticket vendor in the 21-40 range. Sell it on the market. Most of them go for quite a bit.

I've made millions in the past couple weeks selling my common salvage in the markets.

Oh... Thank you for that, I'll search out this "Herostats" immediately.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Glad to hear it - I was hoping we could get you the same effect you wanted from an add-on with what we already had.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One of these days I will need to load up herostats...

Now for someone like him, he would never know to sell the different DOs/SOs to the correct trainer, probably would never mess with the market and would definitely not know that if you respec you get full value of the DOs/SOs back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What would someone like this do with 65 million inf if they got it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Remember, the "casual player" always needs to fully purple their warshade but cannot afford to.

I've got the right email address in my profile yet I never seem to get NCSoft / game emails. Yes, I've checked my Junk Mail folder.

*puts on sad kitty face* Mew.

I get ones I don't need like reactivation notices but never ones like the Rogue announcement or double exp or the survey last year.

Well they aren't difficult, they just are irritating snots the way they jump around from every direction.

On top of it all, Johnny doesn't even say hardly a thank you for saving his soul. There should be an optional ending where you can take out Johnny for being such an ingrate .

    [/ QUOTE ]
Uh... Go back and reread the NPC dialogue at the end of that mission.

As for the Wailers, I hate fighting them but not because they are irritating in some way. They are just relentlessly *bland*. And if you do Hardcase's missions it's ten levels of all-Wailers all-the-time .

    [/ QUOTE ]

I find them a nice break from Council/Arachnos/Longbow/Freakshow missions. And they are funny when they come to get you. Seems like most of his missions cause a wailer ambush.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
They are just as tiny, they are relentless, they come out of the woodwork from every direction and they spawn in droves. They are irritating little brats to say the least.

I just did the mission after the Wailer Lord where you save the 4 Mu Magii. My god, just as you clear an area 6 more would spawn on top of you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's why I like them.

#5) I made 65 mil just by playing the game. Who'd have thought...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am at 95 million just playing the game with my dominator who dinged 49 last night.

The thing is the people who say you can't are looking for enough inf to buy all their purples at 50 or looking at expensive stuff in the lower levels. You cannot reason with them.
  11. I am trying mightily to not get too excited about Going Rogue.

I think MA was a bigger success in general for the game but it held little interest for me. But Going Rogue has the potential of amusing me an insane amount. Or making me go meh if it is something like starting over at level 1.
  12. I am thinking of the comic book when Manticore switched by what was essentially one story arc (granted he was faking) so they could do it so many different ways but the more annoying they make it, the more people they will deter from doing it.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
I would be willing to place money on them working it so that if you have a character switch sides, you start from square one; at level one, with no enhancements or inf. But in order to make it your character you keep the same powersets, AT, costume slots and character name. It makes sense from a business standpoint; leveling up your character takes time, and in an MMO time=money. It makes sense in a play standpoint; just because you have a lot of reputation and security clearance with Recluse doesn't mean Hero Corps automatically recognizes your authority, you have to earn it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be a deal breaker for an awful lot of people. I seriously doubt I'd move more than 1 character under that rule.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
I just wanted to be the first to make this ridiculous thread.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am so relieved you didn't mean it.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    I don't think so.
I'm still from the school that "influence is from doing heroic things and infamy is from doing bad things."

I think when you take a character across the line, you should loose all the inf you have.

You are no longer INFLUENTIAL as a hero, once you become a villain. it's time to prove that you are truly a villain and start from scratch.
Same goes for a villain becoming a hero. No one is going to trust you, it's time to build up your rep (influence) from square one.

I'm not against you taking what ever you can carry at the the time, but, obviously, if you loose access to the hero side then you loose access to your hero-side base and everything in it.
I don't think the Vault is in Switzerland, etc. so all that stuff would be lost as well.

There is a cost for becoming a villain.
You're going to have to work hard the legit way to become a hero if you were a villain.

    That's where I stand.

    Keep the Markets separate forever!

There is a cost for switching sides. Get ready to pay the piper.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That will kill all their work so I doubt it.
  16. <QR>

I think the better question to ask is if they do not merge servers who will cross back and forth for profits? The FAQ posted by Nivene says back and forth is possible.
  17. You will want to get either:
Karma -KB Protection -> into a defense power like Combat Jumping
Steadfast Protection -KB Protection into a damage resistance power like Fire Shield
or possibly the Travel power one
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Enable double-clicking and/or selecting through the keyboard.

Let me double-click on a server to select that server. Let me then double-click on a character to select that character.

And/or let me use the arrow keys to navigate through the servers, then hit Return/Enter to select one, and the same thing on the Character Select Screen. Let Page Up and Page Down move me through the Character Selection pages. Let Backspace take me back to the previous screen. Even Control-Backspace would be fine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All of this would be nice but that last part very much.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
I'm not much on PvP, but THIS I would go for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This was what I thought City of Villains and City of Heroes PvP would have been like and have often hoped for. I can't get into PvP without a motivation like this.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
My only concern is echoed above - market performance (server or interface, wherever the holdup would be.) Other than that, why not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ditto.

Might help burn off some excess inf in the game.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
So this really is like talking to a brick wall.

    [/ QUOTE ]

People keep writing that but I have yet to have a brick wall spout nonsense when I talk to it.
  22. I'd rather they add more sets to MMs before any crossover or porting option for them.

Certainly a heroic MM would need some new sets.

I wish I could find the spoof I wrote for Moderator 08 based on the song "Secret Agent Man"

Moderator 08 Man! Moderator 08 Man! They've given you a number and took away your name.

Maybe he saved it and will post it if we ask nicely.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Please PM if recovered. I like that song and can only imagine how fun a Mod08 version is.

You just don't get it do you.

    It wasn't a problem *ever*.

People LEFT your server, GO WITH THEM.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do wonder how many people on the server have him on ignore...
  25. Problem with adding the Mods to the game, which by the way would be awesome, is they do tend to come and go quite often. Positron the ingame hero isn't really Matt Miller any more than Statesman was Jack though they adopt those names for the forums.

So I don't have a problem with this idea but I don't see it really working out.
