It really doesn't matter what the number is. I went months without seeing any purples and got 4 this weekend.

Quote:Booze and ****** bots? (That would work better if my Bender avatar would display but I REFUSE to rehost it elsewhere just because this forum software can't handle a ~ in the location.)Yeah! And we should need to travel to missions either!! And I shouldn't even have to press buttons to make my powers fire!!! They should fire automatically!!!!
Screw you guys, I'm going to play ProgressQuest... THEIR devs know what players want!!!!! -

Quote:The devs hate us!For the same reason we never get the phone number of our broker/detective, the same reason we have to run X number of missions before contacts give us their numbers, the same reason we have to run all the way to city hall/that building in PO to pay our base rent, etc etc.

Gratz Cat!
Thanks to a recent purple drop fest my Warshade is only 400 million away. -
Quote:I would like to point out even using your car and driving example, some people are race car drivers and some people are just out for a drive, for some people it is a means to get from point A to B only while others really enjoy being in their car.I don't "see" it as anything except what it is- a reward-driven system.
Yes, there are other forms of entertainment within the boundaries of the game world. But the entire structure is designed around keeping a large number of players engaged in seeking the next milestone on whatever reward path they fine enjoyable.
Form follows function, and the function of an MMO is to keep the money flowing by stringing players along. It's great if players discover other systems of engagement, like Sam's exploring or RPing with friends or whatever, but the foundation of the game is reward based. Pretending otherwise is like saying "Oh, cars arent' designed to DRIVE...because I use mine as an aquarium, so my opinion that they are fishtanks is just as valid as your opinion that they're machines for transporting people and goods around on roads."
However the rewards are the thing they need to keep the closest eye on. It's hard for someone to break RPing. -
Last night for some reason I decided to check out Recluse's Victory with my warshade. I was killed by a villain (I hope he got a recipe for it) but prior to that I got to get a Heavy and liberate some bases. That was a lot of fun because it was new to me.
I think tonight or tomorrow I am going to explore the Shard.
This game completely succeeds at offering so many choices of things to do. And I am dying to check out their plans for Going Rogue. More to see, more to do. What a game! -
Villains sell to the Quartermasters and Heroes sell to the Hero Corps (red and white uniforms) scattered around Atlas, Galaxy, Kings Row and the Hollows and then in the next higher level zones (Steel, Sky, Talos and IP) we have stores by origins and then by time you get to the 30s and 40s you sell to contact stores.
For QMs and stores look for $ on the map. -
Quote:I have it on 22 characters. The last one made 90 million in the process of getting it (thank you AE).The WW interface at the SG base would be a nice addition. And I knew about the portable table, but isnt that thing time consuming to get? You don't see many of those around.
As to whether it is time consuming, it is. But it is also time consuming to have to run back and forth to the market. -
I don't think about it but since I sell far more than I buy, higher prices are a benefit for each of my characters.

I assume this will get moved to Suggestions eventually so I will treat this as a suggestion in my reply.
I would like more enhancement storage though 50 is extreme to me.
I would also like to be able to do a pseudo-respec which would allow me to move enhancements between powers and build one or build two. -
Quote:I'll keep playing even if they shut the servers down! But I won't keep paying if they do. I may be crazy but I'm not stupid. As long as it is profitable, the servers will remain active (they may eventually be consolidated at some point in the distant future).
With the fruits of the investment by NCsoft really only just coming online, there is little reason to think that this game will be anything but healthy in another 5 years time.
We had the 5th anniversary this year, I see no reason why I wont be here and playing at the 10th. -
The first key to soloing involves learning your limitations (that is your limitations playing the character in question).
On a team your teammates can help cover your deficiencies whether it is by buffing you or debuffing your enemies or being in action while you are mezzed.
So when you solo you need to know what you will do when you may run out of endurance, need to heal, run into a horrible debuffing situation like CoT nerva, etc. For me this mostly boils down to inspiration management. You need to know what you will be facing, what you will need and use them as needed.
The other thing you need to know is how much you can handle with regards to the difficulty slider.
Once you master those two points you can solo easily with a character if it works for you. By that I mean I cannot (will not even try) to solo an Empathy or Force Field Defender. There's just not enough help in that primary for me soloing. I cannot off the top of my head think of any other AT and primary that makes things that hard for me. -
Quote:I feel the same way which is funny when I started thinking about it last night because dominator and controller pets I don't feel that way about but they are just as limited. What is it about the MM pets that cause us to think this way?Any options for MM pets would be welcome.
But what I'd like to see, is choice between a few different type of pets.
For Necromancy - Zombies, Skeletal, Ghouls (sorta Frankenstein-types). Ghosts/spectal, maybe.
For Mercs - Soldiers, Security Personnel, etc. For Robots - different style of robots. 50's, Clockwork etc. And there could be a few different styles of ninjas (Oriental, non-oriental etc).
Maybe 3 choices per type would be fine. I don't think that would be that difficult to do. Hm, maybe the zombie vomit could be something else for the skeletal minions. Just change the animation to some sort of "dark breath".
I'm a big fan of Masterminds, but the limited choice in pets gets a bit boring after a while. -

Buck is a 30-34. At 38 if he is an active contact, then he has to have something for you. -
I've used it once or twice but I always had used the fog to let me know where I had not explored for enemies and blinkies so I don't like to use it.
-
I would definitely like to affect the colors of the powers they use.
It would be nice if they could give us an option like weapon customization for different types of pets but I'd prefer another pet set. Demons will be great of course, but there have been so many good suggestions if they could just fit one in every 18-24 months it would be nice. -
Made even better when they changed it from once every seven days to the current once every three days.

Quote:With the SSK stuff where you can get exp (except at 50) even when exemplared, Vahz bosses are looking very tasty.per Culex:

High level family are 0.4
I saw this queried as a 'should be added' somewhere upthread.
Most Tsoo have a 1.2 modifier, Sorcs and yellow ink men are 1.4, and a few of the basic lowbie types are 1.0.
Vahz Bosses are a very tasty 1.8 -
I assume that was the pre-download for Issue 16. Commence excited ramblings.

How does this compare to that high level Family nerf last year? I found that to be pretty horrible as they seem to give about 1/3 what any other villain group does. If Freaks are just 80% of Council that is annoying but not as bad.
