  1. Just for fun, let's all start timed missions at 1:59am Sunday morning right before the clock jumps forward for daylight saving time.

  4. I believe there are a few missions that still require simultaneous clicking of glowies. I think there is one still like that in the Hess TF blueside.
  5. Oh. I thought it was some guy named Double that had taken ecstasy and peed. Figured it was some sort of urban legend like licking a toad and hallucinating.
  6. The blue cave map.

Oh, and the boob slider needs to go up a few more levels.

    Build Up vs. Aim

I usually opt for Build Up since many of the damage IO sets have decent accuracy bonuses and I can usually find a spot for the Kismet 6% +tohit.
  8. I saw a little blue guy with red hat, red pants, and a white beard named Poppa-Cap Smurf.

His bio said he was Papa Smurf's surley gun toting cousin.

    I lol'd
  9. Because you didn't pre-order Going Rogue yet?

  11. Huh? I thought the auction houses operated across servers.
  12. I run multiple accounts usually when I'm badging or getting accolades.
I use it extensively for market activities -- moving/crafting recipes, posting items to WW on toons I'm not actively playing, influence transfers, etc.

I never dual box when teaming with others except when the team approves.
Example: Yesterday I came upon a TF group in Skyway unable to take down Babbage. I was on my scrapper and needed the badge so I logged in my rad on the other account to debuff the GM enough for them to knock him off.

For what it's worth, here's my current Elec/SD/Body build pre-purple. I would caution against energy torrent because of the knockback. With Against All Odds you really want to keep foes within melee as much as possible. As a matter of fact, with this build you're better off running into the middle of the spawn BEFORE firing SC or LR so you get the damage bonus.

He plays very well easily taking down +2/x8 spawns with no end issues with all toggles running and Active Defenses on auto. There's a little bit of wait for LR and SC to recharge, so I fill in the gaps cycling through Thunder Strike and Chain Induction.

Longer term plan (in priority order) is to swap kick with boxing as a purple mule since the absolute amazement set is relatively cheap (and move one IO slot to phys perfection - heal), and then replace the sets on chain induction and thunder strike with purples. This should add an extra boost to recharge, acc, and recovery.

    My current pre-purple build:

  15. I guess the other thing to keep in mind is that although you can mow down lvl 47-49 mobs quickly and still have a chance for a purple, the non-purple recipes you collect are usually of significantly less resale value on the market than the lvl 50 recipes. (Even though the effectiveness of the lvl 49 IO may only be .2% less, peeps gotta have their lvl 50 IOs)

The other thing to remember is that teaming actually reduces your individual chances to get drops since they are awarded across the whole team. That's one major benefit of the super sidekicking system. You can ramp up spawn sizes without sharing the rewards.

I usually just farm my level 50 using +0/x8, no bosses, no AVs.
I craft and sell any recipes that command an 8-10mil sale price or higher.
I will either sell to the vendor everything else or just delete it to make more room if I'm in the middle of a farm run.
  16. You can get them at lower levels if you are sk'd. You can't slot them until later when you are in range.

So in theory the quickest way to farm recipes is to set difficulty to -1/+8 and go on a killing spree?

Edit: the above is assuming a lvl 50 toon.
So what's the general consensus on turning on the 'I prefer to fight Bosses' option?

On the one hand, a boss has about an 8% chance to drop a recipe and each time one drops there is a 1:500-5000 (according to wiki) chance that recipe will be purple.

On the other hand, NOT fighting bosses should mean you mow through mobs faster. So if you can kill 3 minions (each with a 2.7% chance to drop a recipe) faster than 1 boss, do you come out ahead on the chances for a purple?
  18. Inigo: You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I thought a palindrome was letters forward and backward making the same phrase. E.g.,

    "Madam, I'm Adam"

Remember way back in the day when this thread got started and everyone was like “WOW those are great resistance costume pieces, I can’t wait to wear them, splat, splat, splat,” and “Oh super keen, first I changed my desktop to a lolz cat and now my crippling depression doesn’t seem so bad anymore, because I have a reason to live again, I get to wear glowing stuff.” Well, get out a mop and find something sharp. That picture is of a NPC, not a new costume set.

Me so sorry about that there wasn’t a clearer explanation of what was going on in the screenshot, I really am. But when you get down it and think about this rationally, this is really your fault, you jumped to a conclusion. You know I told you a thousand times not to do that, but I guess I need to teach you another lesson in the silence of the basement, next to the treadmill you don’t use anymore. Looks like you and I won’t be going over to your mothers for dinner like you planned. Canceled! The writing is on the wall baby, you are going to just have to tell the neighbors how clumsy you are, and just deal with it. Let the guilt of your wrong doings lead you on a path to righteousness. You’re welcome.

See how I turned that around, take a note kids.
But if you make your character stand really really still, you can draw costume outlines on your screen with a highlighter and kinda get the same effect, right?

    quick question

I had DSL before my current FIOS.

It was initially provisioned at 768/192 (or something like that) and got bumped at no charge later to 1.5/768.

I have 5 'active' computers on my home net and a few hobby machines not doing much.

CoH played fine simultaneously on two machines while another kid played WoW. The only time we would see any lag from the local connection was when WoW was downloading a large patch while we tried to play CoH.

Where you'll see the speed difference in everyday use going from cable to DSL is web page loading, large file downloads, and streaming video.

If you have the option to go FIOS instead of DSL, I would recommend doing so.
