Considering they could be hit by any blaster or any defense debuffer at will, yes. Maybe useless isn't the right word. Is gimp better? There was absolutely no doubt in anybody's mind that regen, for example, was better than SR. And it wasn't even close. Now SR is basically god mode and is considered way more fotm than regen.

Elusivity needs to be nerfed, but also global acc needs to be nerfed. That is, DR needs to affect global acc more, like it does tohit.

I'm afraid that if they simply nerf elusivity (which DOES need to happen), defense sets will become useless again because of all the serious builds having crazy +acc bonuses now.

He clearly means PvP. I used to herd whole maps of villains into dumpsters. After all the nerfs, I can only herd a few. I grab a couple forts, a couple stalkers, and maybe a corr.....and then they follow me around a corner, and I burn them all. Best PvP strategery evar. Amirite zero?

Doesn't really make sense, since elude is part of SR. I'll take elude to mean "any defense tier 9". In that case...

PFF -> tier 9 -> SR

PFF is just laughably bad. Tier 9 is basically the same thing...pretty much invincibility. But at least it's not perma. SR without elude is very strong, but not insane. It CAN actually be hit.

Widows are OP. But PFF is flat out game-playingly broken, and available to many AT's. Sounds like PFF wins.

We're talking about different things. I mean a pure buffer build that's meant to simply buff/healzor. You're talking about an offensive build that happens to be a pain dom. On my offense dual build sonic/therm, I can get kills too. But when I play the toon as it's actually supposed to be played, as a buffer, it's a lot different.

When I meant you have to be really good to make a difference, I meant you have to be a really good buffer and evader. Because it's really hard to keep a full team buffed when...
1. You're the single buffer on the team.
and
2. The whole zone goes only after you, ignoring the rest of your team.

Buffers in general aren't good in PvP anymore. You have to be really good to make much of a difference at all. Because chances are, if you're on a full team, it will consist of about 2 brutes, 3 widows, 2 stalkers....and you. Guess who the ENTIRE opposing faction will go after first...EVERY single time. That's right, you. It makes playing a buffer really pointless, which is why most people just bring their own offense toon, and nobody plays buffers.

Only thing they're good for these days is on a 2nd account, to buff up your main offense toon

Oh and, if you do decide to play a buffer, you absolutely need phase shift. Without it, there isn't even a point in trying.

Fire should be good too. Healing flames with phase is pretty hard to kill. I know my tank is pretty unkillable, so I assume a scrapper is similar.

People already told you that both suck...you delete that post, and make a new one, asking the same thing. Guess what, the answer is the same. They still suck.

If you absolutely must make one of them because you want to gimp yourself for some unknown reason, I would probably go with WP. At least it has some res and perception and a couple other things. Invuln is just nothing but a sack of HP.

In that case no, tanks suck in PvP.

They're both lol in my experience. Just big bags of HP with good resistance to S/L damage, and that's it.

Ice and fire is there it's at. Ice for OP elusivity, fire for healing flames (probably with phase).

Or, what I sometimes do is align my screen so the target is the only one, or the closest one, that appears on the screen, and press the Target Nearest Enemy bind. Sometimes that can be faster than tabbing.

Oh btw, do any of the global list or global ignore cheater targetings still work?

I'll be honest. I don't understand how you people even do PvP in RV these days. It's such a ridiculous joke, I can't imagine how anybody can have fun doing it.

The sharks, the broken elusivity coupled with non-stop tier 9's, the constant hibernoob/PFF/phase....it's like the absolute worst PvP this game has ever seen.

Be smart, stick to Sirens. PvP there is still actually playable.

I'd feel kinda guilty just stealing hundreds of IO's without contributing any.

But I guess the main issue is accolades. It's just hours upon hours of PvE, and I actually haven't done any PvE in like 2+ years lol. That's how much it disgusts me now. My last 3 lvl 50 toons were PL'd 1-50....and not by me, if you catch my drift

I'd probably come back to arena, but from what I undestand, no serious team would even consider including a player with no accolades or IOs....and I have no desire to spend insane amounts of time PvE'ing to accolade and IO all my toons

Don't remember to be honest....it was the headset Hellter (the main sonic from JAL) told me to get, and it worked perfect for him. But for me, it made noises and [censored]. Clearly vent had serious software issues with vista or something. But that was like a year ago....I gotta try it again.

I uninstalled it cuz all the JAL [censored] constantly whined about my vent being [censored] up, even though I used the same headset some of them did.

Hehe ajax, I've had a toon in GMW for like 7 or 8 months probably (my therm Empathy Sucks). Just last week I got my 2 stalkers in the SG as well, just to be able to stay in touch more easily.

I don't have vent installed though I'll have to reinstall it sometime in the near future.

Anyway, we should team up in the zones on freedom sometime.
