  2. Yep, you're right. I have completely abandoned my DM/SR with I14. He has a pure PvE build now. I13 made him viable...for just 1 issue. Then he was made worse than ever before in I14.

    Genius game design, I tell you.

    Actually no. He has publicly stated that the new PvP is much better than the old. He's not made any mention of going to back to the old PvP in any form whatsoever.
  4. What Anti said is true. And you're right, things are a lot different for heroes vs vils. As a hero, there isn't much to be afraid of other than stalkers....simply because you can't see them and don't know how many there are. But as a vil, you have to deal with the most popular hero AT, blasters. And they can all kill you in like 5 seconds from range. It definitely makes it much harder to play a squishy red side.

    In my experience, the only time corrs do well is when there is like 4 or 5 of them teaming together. Then they can tear [censored] up. But with only 1 or 2 corrs in the zone, they usually just get farmed non-stop, until they get fed up and switch to their stalkers

    No, they will not admit to being responsible for one of the worst design decisions in MMORPG history. They will do everything they can to cover it up, like they have been doing.
  6. Elec is definitely the best, so you can maximize end drain. But if you just want to maximize damage, probably sonic or fire would be best. I have a sonic/therm...but I made mine when people made therms to actually buff people.
  7. An ss/fire brute would do very well in zone PvP, especially sirens. So would any stalker.

    Corrs are a lot harder, since basically the whole zone will go only after you. When it's 5 brutes, 10 stalkers, and 1 corr....you can guess who will be the target of literally every single opposing player in the zone. Because of this, corrs (or squishies in general) usually only thrive in large groups.
  8. Like doc above said, they didn't care about 90% of the PvP community flat out leaving the game. So there's no way in hell that they will care about anything the remaining 10% does or does not do.

    Just stop hoping. What we have is what we're going to have going forward. Nothing will change, unless you go and play a different game.

    Well, dark melee is pretty much a joke, so that's not a good judgement stick. I think you would have had a lot more trouble if it was was a fire/SR or something like that.

    I'm just talking from personal experience. If I can land my heal, there's pretty much nothing that can kill me. If I can't reliably land my heal, I have no chance.
  11. No, it's not worth the effort. Like EnD said, they suck on all fronts. Weak damage, no real holds, and no noticeable defensive abilities, now that defense is a joke. It's like playing a stalker that 1. can be seen at all times, 2. does half the damage of a normal stalker, and 3. has zero defenses, unlike a stalker.

    It sucks, cuz my fort was my main toon before I14.

  13. As /dark, you're gonna have trouble against any high defense build. Your pets will still hit them, but if you can't reliably land your heal, you're pretty screwed.
  14. Well, personally I'm not against the mez changes. There are pluses and minuses to both mez systems, but I can live with the current one.

    It's just that half the stuff is flat out broken. NPC's are very clearly broken, as are mez IO procs, which mez for 8 seconds base (compared to a troller/dom mez of 4 secs)...and any AT can use these IO's. Again, game breaking.
  15. On my fire tank, I got feared for OVER A MINUTE by a Tsoo boss of some kind in sirens. That's right...over 1 minute, standing there cowering, unable to take any action. 20 Sec holds are annoying...but a fear is practically the same, and lasts 5 times longer.

    This is in a game where actual players can mez for TWO SECONDS.

    If it's not a game breaking bug, I don't know what is.
  16. I read about half the post, and I agreed with everything. Then I stopped reading, because what's the point? Nothing is going to change. You're fooling yourself if you think it will, even for a second.

    The ironic thing is that most of the info here was stated BEFORE I13 CAME OUT! Oldschool PvP'ers like me told the devs exactly what would happen. And I guess we knew the game even better than we thought, because it happened exactly as we predicted. AT roles were erased from the game, attack chains became laughable, phase became a 100% requirement for everybody that doesn't want to die every 5 secs, zone PvP devolved to pure fight club half the time, test arena PvP completely died....etc. ALL of it was predicted. And they ignored it all, and went ahead with the changes.

    I admire your effort mac, but I'm afraid you just wasted your time. At least the community can tell that you have a very good understanding of the game mechanics.
  17. It's actually not a horrible build. Axe isn't that great (just because SS is at least 10 times better than anything else), but fire is pretty much the undisputed #1 primary right now, so at least you have that. You want the 2 shields, temp protection, HF, FE, and maybe burn.

    I13 took most skill out of the game. Those of us who could evade with skill can't do it anymore. Gotta phase or die.

    In regards to your toons, none really fit the current teams. There is currently 1 viable lineup that's been proven to work. Sure, there's talk about other lineups, but that's all it is...talk. Until it actually is proven to be viable, it's not.

    And the lineup is emps, stalkers, and 1 person for KB or a mind troller/dom. So perhaps your mind/rad could make it...or your emp/psi.

    For zones though, most of those toons should do fine.
