    Fly is very good in zones. Definitely a more safe playstyle. Hover protects against some -fly, but not all.

    In my experience, if you have fly, you also need TP. Kind of like SJ+SS. Can't have one without the other.

    As any old schooler will tell you, regin can't be bet.

    I do really well with mine...probably better than before I13, actually. Having slow resistance makes a huge difference for a click set like regen.

  6. No, a purpled build doesn't mean someone sucks. I've just PvP'd in this game for...however long it's been since PvP came out on test server....and I can tell when someone is good simply because of his build, or if it's because of actual skill. Like in the case of blazing...he actually seems like a good player to me, even though he does seem to be purpled out. Same with Hyper Ai....I'm sure you've seen him. Totally pimped out build, but the guy also knows how to play it.

    In the specific case of the koreans though, they are really bad. I've watched them play and get better since the first day they set foot on Freedom (when the Korean servers got closed down). They've definitely gotten a lot better. Their level of badness was so bad when they first appeared.....I don't think there's even a way to put it into words. So yeah, they've gotten better, but to me, at this point, they are 90% build, 10% skill. I guarantee....force them to play on an SO'd character and get rid of temps in zones, and they will be gone from CoH in a week. Because they'll be average at best.

    LOL, I answered your questions pretty clearly. The thing about impale and TS was a joke, because those are the 2 clearly best primaries. Figured you'd be logical enough to substitute those powers for a power from your own set and get the general idea.

    Which is AS + followup attack + run away. If you don't like "AS'ing and running away" you clearly made a wrong toon.

    And yes, I'm having fun with my stalker. Just one of them though, since the EM nerfs completely destroyed my other one.
  8. lol at half those brutes. Blazing is actually good, and zylo seems ok, although he seems more about the (totally purpled out) build than actual skills. But the 2 koreans.....man, it doesn't get any worse.

    There's a reason why they don't die much. The both have phase and teleport (all the korean brutes actually have the same exact build). As soon as they get in any trouble, they simply phase and TP all the way to their drones. And this is with totally purpled out builds. Can't even imagine how bad they'd be if they played with SO's, like I do.

    They also don't even attempt playing unless the vil side owns the zone. I'd say about 99% of their kills come down to temp powers, so if they can't get their temps, they are completely useless. Which is why if the heroes own the zone, you will never see any Chosim or Red Devils. Using actual powers to get kills is more than they can handle.

    Btw, in case you haven't noticed, I really don't like them. I completely ignore them in the zones, since they have zero chance of killing me, and I know that if I attack them, the only thing I'll accomplish is having them phase and TP to drones.....waste of time.

    Stalker role in organized arena PvP is to just AS people.

    In zones, it's to AS people and also spam impale or thunderstrike at them.

    Yes, you do need stealth to be a good stalker. Kind of how everybody needs stamina. I never understood the complaining about that.

  11. Well, you guys are probly right in general. My view is a bit skewed since I play exclusively in sirens since I13. The game is too much of a joke to me at level 50, with the I13 changes. Sirens is somewhat closer to how it used to be. Since not everybody is at the res cap with phase and hibernate, people still actually die. But that's a different subject.

    Anyway, in sirens, defense truly is a complete and utter joke. The whole "bug" where you can't use tier 9's in sirens anymore doesn't help either, lol.

    In RV, with stuff like elude in play, I'm sure it's still reasonable. Just like in I12. But if you're making a new brute, I don't think there is any reason at all to make anything other than fire right now.

    That's why I still haven't made one. I have probably the oldest fire/SS PvP tank on freedom, and playing the exact same thing on vil side sounds lame.

    Sigh. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is the ONE thing that was needed for PvP in this game to have a future. Actually, don't bother correcting me, cuz I know moar than joo!

    But still, an actual developer actually talking to one of the PvP'ers directly......maybe the game does have a slight chance.
  13. Yes, that's why a mind something is almost a requirement for the arena teams right now. The autohit hold that sets up stalker AS is just too easy of a strategy to pass up. I think it might even be unresistable...that is it holds for the whole time, no matter what. But I'm not sure on that.
  14. Con's statement seems to apply only to I13 PvP. Defense was turned back into a joke in I14, so shield is pretty bad now. Really the only truly viable set for brutes now is fire. It's well above everything else.

    By itself, not too well. But combined with phase, it's basically a 100% getaway. Phase by itself is almost 100%, but there's a slight chance that someone will phase themselves and finish you off. With TP, there's no chance of that, since you're gone by then.

    TP can be used by itself too, but you do need to not get hit for a couple secs...and that can be hard when you're getting spiked.
  17. For arena teams, anything/WP. Primary doesn't matter since you're only there for AS. WP for repel protection.

    For duels, I'd say spines/regen or elec/regen. But most people probably won't waste time dueling a stalker.

  21. Not that my opinion matters, but I like it. If you've played at all in zones since I13, you know that it is much easier to get kills in sirens call compared to RV. All because not everybody is running around with ridiculous resists.

    Many people were against banning veng too, but I doubt anybody considers that a bad decision at this point.

    The problem is other shields, like defense epic shields. Do they get banned too? If not, doesn't that give an advantage to some people? Especially considering something like the ice shield, which also gives some res.

    Dear Devs,

    Hey Gibson, long time no see. Sounds like you haven't been around these forums much lately.

    All this has been said hundreds of times, and all of it has been ignored. I13-I14 is a huge success, according to the devs, and there is ZERO reason if it being changed back. None whatsoever. To do so, they would have to admit to one of the biggest mistakes in game design history, and they're simply not going to do that, ever. Instead, they will use their completely made up "data" to show that the new PvP is a total success and the whole community loves it. At least that's what they've been doing.
  24. Jimmay can you explain the confuse buff? I keep hearing about it.

    Also, do you know how much they're increasing dom damage by? They already seem to do blaster level damage (not sonic blaster level, but more like other sets) from what I've seen.
