I've got a few toons that have been in mid 30's for about 4+ years. And I still play them regularly in PvP lol.
That's how much I hate PvE in this game. -
Yeah they're still stupid, but at least they don't do 2-3 times the damage of real attacks, like mids implies. That's caused quite a bit of issues, because it's been like this since I13 came out....since the guy who made the program has dropped the project.

Those are the figures for my SS/ brute in the PvP zone (base damage taken from Mids set on PvP mode, cast times from Mids too not including Arcanatimes) :
[/ QUOTE ]
Mids numbers on power pool attacks are completely wrong. Look in the actual game for correct numbers. -

If more people played Stalkers with actual skill the devs would nerf them into complete uselessness the way they did Widows.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know...as crazy as that sounds, it's probably true. If all stalkers were good players, it would be a pretty different game. But that's a dream world. -
It's doubtful he was spotting because there's no point in that. The brute almost certainly could see you just fine by himself. Probably the guy really was just watching his friend fight.

I just can't believe a college professor is this retarded and in even more disbelief that the dean of his school paid him to purposely ruin the fun of children playing a video game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. I thought Loyola was actually a respected school, but I can't see it as anything but a complete joke if it has professors like this. Any psychology/human behavior professional that doesn't consider this paper complete trash simply doesn't deserve to be working in the field.
A "study" based on completely obvious things, where the author flat out MAKES UP 90% of the material. Just laughable. -
It does decent damage, but it's fast recharge and does -def.
Most scrappers have weapons mastery now, so not many have LBE, but you should definitely take it if you're going with body mastery. I believe it's stronger than the weapons mastery attacks. -

Of course, they'll probably give Heat Exhaustion the Drain Psyche treatment - if the real numbers readout is correct, DP now does -0.8 end/sec, which isn't even enough -recovery to stop your base recovery rate.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I was wondering about that. I just made a /psi dom recently, and after all I heard about DP, it seemed to do absolutely nothing when I used it. Guess that explains why. -
He meant that stalkers aren't supposed to do stuff in the long haul. They're designed to get quick kills and run away.
It's definitely possible to play without stamina even with SO's, but it can get tedious. But with a bunch of +recovery from IO's, I'd say the leadership route is definitely the way to go. -

It's easier to get an AS off now than it was before I13, that much is not debatable (mez and KB changes ensure that there'll always be a small window when it's very easy to get off an AS). However, the damage scale nerf of AS, combined with base resistances, and diminishing returns, make it harder for most sets to score those "one-two" kills a la old-school EM Stalkers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. Post-I13, AS'ing has become one of the absolute easiest things in the game to do, as long as you're on a team with any mezzers. It was infinitely harder before, where everybody could move around completely unimpeded.
But the damage is pitiful compared to before. Before, you could AS+ET, and kill regen scrappers (with DP down) in a span of 2 seconds. Now you do that, and you take a blaster to 50% HP....in like 4 seconds.
Overall, I'd say it's harder to play a stalker, unless you're on a serious team where your ONLY role is to AS. Solo stalking is pretty damn hard now, compared to before. -
Nah. It's about the same damage with the same activation time. But flurry is an attack chain all by itself, while IS can only be used rarely.
-
The only viable primary is now super strength. There's basically zero reason to be anything else, because SS is completely superior.
-
Mac is right, powers don't start recharging until they are done animating. But flurry has a really short recharge time to begin with, so it's basically instant recharge.
That's the part that makes people say the power pool attacks are good. Flurry does slighly less damage than KoB, but KoB recharges in what...25 seconds? or 20? And flurry is basically instant. That's a really big deal.
Only toon I took flurry on is my PB, so I'd have an attack for human form. And flurry was better than any regular attack from the PB set. -
"One by one, Twixt coolly picked his opponents off."
LOL!
Wow, how much did he pay those people to write the article? -

I have Leaping, Fitness, Speed, and I'm trying to decide on the fourth.

Hey Roman. On mine, I went with concealment. It's the only way to get away from a large gank, even as a scrapper. -
Update: After lagging into a couple more deaths in RV, I remembered I have a toon on lol, Virtue. So for testing purposes I checked it out. Went to virtue sirens call.
Zero lag. Right away, it just felt different. You could actually move without rubberbanding. The NPC's were flying, running....not teleporting all over the map. No power tray issues. Basically how it was before I15.
So congrats Freedom. This seems to be a server problem. They just had to [censored] up the most popular PvP server. -
[ QUOTE ]
Dying doesn't mean your bad necessarily. I usually don't care bout dying and will jump into unsurmountable odds simply cause it's more entertaining than waiting like a snake to pick off the wandering calf from the herd.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same here. I was gonna say, a stalker that dies isn't a bad stalker.
1v1, no stalker should ever die, no matter what. Even 2v1 or 3v1 in most cases.
But when it gets to a huddle of 8 heroes, and the choice is to either attempt to get a kill or sit there for 30 mins and do absolutely nothing, dying is pretty much acceptable. Especially with the lag lately. Considering it takes me like 5 seconds to activate each power, 8v1 can be tough. -
^ Unfortunately, that is probably true. It's exactly the type of thing they would do.
-

Every 30 sec or so it shows packets lost
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, that's exactly what it is. It's not constant steady lag. It's just basically not registering anything that happens every few seconds. I don't know what the hell they did to make it constantly do this starting with I15. -
LOL!
That's just wonderful.
Also, the lag is seriously driving me to the point of wanting to cancel. Because my game is flat out unplayable. 3-5 second delay on everything I do, and half the time it doesn't even activate. And my internets are perfectly fine other than this game. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have experienced the same thing with the powers not showing activation correctly, and it has caused a few unnecessary defeats. Seems like we need a few more patches just to get this issue to a level of playability that we expect.
[/ QUOTE ]
Glad I'm not the only one. Any time I bring it up the insane lag in RV, nobody says anything in support. Was getting the feeling I was the only one.
Btw I didn't see your post about the mez...can you link it? -
So as usual, a bunch of new bugs are introduced, since they did fix the mez bug. They've never been able to fix something without breaking 3 other things. So whatever, we've learned to accept it. But this one is just absurd.
I don't know wtf they did, but starting with I15, the lag is absolutely insane. Everything just teleports around. I see someone tp 50 yards one way, then 50 yards the other way, then 100 yards back. Was very seldom like this before I15 (only during really high peak times like double XP); has been like it constantly since.
But whatever, lag is lag. The part that makes the game unplayable is the completely broken power tray. Half the time, powers don't show as being activated in the tray. I click a power, and there is no visual indication whatsoever that the power was clicked. The actual power does get activated, but in the tray, it's like nothing happened. So I click phase, see the power hasn't activated, and click it again....and turns out I just turned off phase, because it did actually activate. During attack chains, it constantly shows my attacks not activated...and I'm thinking what the hell...did I really not use levitate after dominate? Makes it impossible to really use powers, since you never know what is actually available, and what is just a visual bug.
Basicaly it's the worst power lag I've ever seen in this game, it's constant on all toons I play, it didn't exist before I15, and it's existed constantly since I15.
This game sucks. -
Somebody went and checked out how much charged bolts does now, and compared it to the 181 it's supposed to do after the fix. It ends up being roughly 20%, apparently.
-
[ QUOTE ]
on some builds even bad players can do well with (regen scrappers for instance). I don't see that very often with fire tanks. Its either they suck or are good, doesnt seem like there's a middle ground like say regen scrappers.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's because regin can't be bet. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yep, confirmed in a PM as a bug. No ETA on a fix.
[/ QUOTE ]
God...wish people would just trust me. Been saying since since day 1 of I13.
Well, thanks mac.
