Mez mag means nothing. Only the duration matters. In general, you can expect any mez to be cut at least in half by melee mez protection or acrobatics (in case of squishies).
A proc mez lasting 4-5 secs on a melee toon sounds about right, if the proc base mez duration is 8 seconds. I thought they fixed those to make the base duration 2 seconds a while ago. But perhaps they're still broken....or at least some are. -
Quote:Posts in forums are meant to be read. But essentially what you're doing is calling the vast majority of CoH PvP'ers "weak cowards". Simply because of your own personal agenda. Please realize this.hey if my messages make someone upset or frsutrated, please don't read them.
We're not getting upset, because your claim is just as absurd as mine about blue powers being bad. We're just trying to let you understand that your own personal agenda is your own personal agenda...it in no way affects us. We use powers the way they're intended to be used...the way they were designed to be used by the designers of the game. Not the way that Sentry4 personally feels they should be used. -
Your opinion is perfectly fine, but you have to understand that nobody cares about it. It's your personal opinion, and it has zero value on anybody else. So if you personally "hate" how phase is used in one way, but like how it's used in another way, that's fine. You keep doing what you do. And we'll keep using the power as WE see fit, without taking your personal opinion into consideration. Deal?
And no, that doesn't make us "weak". I could say, with the same broken logic as yours, that I feel that using blue powers is wrong, while using red ones is perfectly fine. I don't care what you think, this is how I see it, and I won't listen to anybody else. Using blue powers proves that someone is a bad PvP'er. It's so obvious to me, I don't even get how people can argue it.
Does that mean that blue powers are wrong to use? -
It was an I13 bug, which finally got fixed after 3 whole issues.
A dom can no longer KB everything at will, which is how things should be. -
Quote:Wow, really? That's what you got from all of mac's posts?I realize that you think the Dev's are infallible, so it's tough for you to imagine that everything in pvp is not 100% perfect as is.
As far as hibernate, my whole point was that hibernate is not even the issue here. It's suppression. Make eluding possible, and hibernate will stop being an issue altogether, because good players will have other ways of evading death (called skill).
Right before I13 came out, I made a public prediction on these forums that phase would become 100% mandatory for all toons. And I was right. It was a pretty simple prediction to make too, based on the added suppression. Before the change, phase was not even an issue. It was only really used in the high end arena PvP. Very few people had it in zones. Why? Because it wasn't 100% required to survive. People had a choice about what to get. Now it is a requirement. Every single squishy must have either phase, hiber, or preferably both. It's either that, or die every 30 seconds, any time you're outnumbered. -
In addition to the previous comments, the best is when you're in a fight with a baddo, you phase....and he stops to type some trash talk about how phase is lame....you unphase and kill him as he's typing his trash talk. I've done that myself, and seen others do it, and it makes me laugh every time.

Elec/therm is considered the best right now. Other good primaries are sonic and fire.

Quote:Nothing in this game is rocket science. But evasion is one of the biggest skills a player had. You could easily tell a good player from a bad one, by watching how they evaded a spike...or died from it. Now all the skill has been taken away. You either phase/hibernate, or you simply die. There is zero alternative. Are some folks better at evasion than others? Sure. Definitely. It's still not rocket science, c'mon.
Even you can probably admit that evading by running away takes more skill than clicking hibernate. Your argument doesn't really make much sense, since you seem against both phase and evasion. And the two are completely related. It's because there's no evasion that we have every single player in PvP with phase. It's because there WAS evasion before that we DIDN'T have every single player with phase before. Pick a side please. You can't be against everything. Unless you really are a pure fight clubber than thinks every fight should happen in a 5 square foot space with no moving. -
The one I was thinking of is D I V I N E. That's the stalker's name. Is that not this Divine from the forums? I was sure it was.

Like already said, we already had this. It was called CoH PvP. Then the devs decided it was bad, so they took it away from us. Now we have the current joke of a system in its place. And it'll never go back to how it used to be.
It's good that you're thinking about improving PvP. Unfortunately, the devs are NOT, and they also don't care about what you or any of us think. -

That is basically the worst scrapper in the game for PvP. Make absolutely anything else.
-
The main thing is that defense is for the most part useless again. It was godlike for 1 issue in I13, but in I14 elusivity was basically removed from the game, so it's back to how things were before I13. At least as far as defense.
Forts were the most popular villain AT in I13. Now they're a complete joke, and playing one is like self torture.
That's what comes to mind for me. -
I have phase on my scrapper and my tank too. Any time someone says something about it, I call them newbies, because that's what they are. Phase has been a part of high end PvP for many years, so anyone that complains about it is literally a newbie.
In arena, you do everything you can to survive. If phase helps, it's ok to use. -
He does mean bright nova. And if you want to do well in PvP, you have to get over your concept build thing, and do what's effective. And that's nova form.

Quote:I disagree. I think, and I'd say that most would agree, that the learning curve was made STEEPER by I13. While the game itself is easier to play because it plays at half the speed, new players have to essentially re-learn the entire game to get into PvP. There is zero logic to anything, unlike in PvE. Everything is completely random. If I was a new player, there's no way in hell that I would choose to get into PvP in this game.As far as i13, this game had such an incredibly steep learning curve which was essentially chopped in half by i13, therefore making the ultimate goal a success.
I do agree that the worst part if it all is that they just dropped I13 on us, "and left it there to rot". They did promise that it would be "a process", but as every single other thing they ever said, it was obviously just PR bs. And their complete non-action for nearly a year after the fact has proven that without the shadow of a doubt. -

Quote:The buffs are fairly useless, sucking endurance is useless without reliable -recovery powers, and the -damage isn't really that big.Primarily used in a team situation to give buffs, suck endurance, and use big -damage debuffs
That said, I think if a good kin teamed up with a good therm, some opponents would get very annoyed.
With kin, you also get one extra power pool, since you don't need leaping, necessarily. -
I have a /nin and a /regen, and I have to agree with that statement. With nin, you're still subject to bad luck. With WP, a good player will basically not die, ever. Unless he gets careless and stops caring about dying. Regen is also unkillable, but WP has way more offensive capabilities.
Also, epsilon, please describe in detail how you use blinding powder. I've never really used it personally. Mainly cuz I play my /nin mostly in sirens. But I tried it at some point after I13, and when I used it, I got suppressed for longer than my target was mezzed, so I couldnt even get in range to attack lol. Do you use it from melee range or something? -
Quote:I don't remember man. It was 2 words. The first was "Divine". And the second something...can't rememberSupermax...do you know the toon's name that was talking trash??? This is becoming annoying somebody keeps **** talking and everybody is thinking it's me.
I'll try to remember if I see him again. It sounds like it's someone that doesn't read the forums. Otherwise he would have probably posted here by now. -
It's just too much effort to go to an arena, sit around for 40 minutes, waiting for a match to start (which always seems to happen), and then have a 10 minute match where you may very well get completely owned. And then sit around for another 30 mins, waiting for another match.
Much easier to just go into a zone with some friends and immediately enjoy the action. Plus there's no score, so how well you do is purely dependent on your own definition of "well", lol. I'm sure that appeals to a lot of the players -
-
Yeah, I know...theoretically it's possible.
I've just had too many lies thrown my way for all these years. They were never honest about anything. Literally everything they said was PR bs, sugarcoated to make it sound like they cared. That, combined with constant stealth changes that never make it to patch notes, made me lose all confidence in anything they say.
