  1. archery has more damage in it, and has aim where as dual pistols doesnt.

    Archery also has a fast recharging mini nuke with rain of arrows, where as dual pistols gets a melee range dance move with crappy damage lol plus your biggest hitter, executioners shot is melee range too, plus it has no snipe power. If range is what your after you shouldnt be anywhere near Dual Pistols.

    Archery is better for what you want everytime.
  2. Spin for PvE, Eviscerate for PvP

    Always use spin PvE side because its easier to hit multiple targets since its a PBAoE and not a crappy melee cone. PvP AoEs are useless anyway because of loldamage.

    In PvE your much more likely to find yourself against multiple foes, particularly ones who block you so you cant line them up for eviscerate to hit them all. Spin is a million times easier to manage and although it does less damage its not too much different and its more reliable to use. 2s extra recharge is nothing for a lot more mobs hit.

    This goes for both claws and widow.

    Go back pre-AE nerf and there was barely a single team below 50 running without AE and if there was, you couldnt get members for it anyway because they all wanted to farm.

    What good is having a game with a buttload of content if you gonna give people the option to skip it all by running the same mission over and over again? If the game was released with one mission, it wouldnt have lasted so long so why is it acceptable now?

    If your calling people who complain most of the game is now pointless, i think you need to learn the meaning of the word 'retard'.

    It is pretty funny though hearing chat on freedumb, its a lost cause now since more than 90% of the community there is just waiting for the next farm. Im so glad I moved servers, if it happens like that on virtue its game over for me.

    AE pretty much wiped out the EU servers, its also lost a lot of players in the US, you would have thought people realised by now farming destroys the entire point of an MMORPG game.

    Dont get me wrong, im not against farming at high levels, its just the new players coming into this game just see this, it creates a bunch of noobs who know nothing outside the AE building which come out at level 50 into the world, then get into a TF team asking questions like how to get out of Atlas, then get the team killed because they havent got buffbots and get booted, this happens again and again and eventually leave.

    Farming is not bad for players who know the game but you cant have it both ways, you either hurt the noobs raising new charecters and make the vets suffer too, or you keep it the same and make the vets suffer and leave because of the influx of idiots at 50 who have no idea what there doing.

    Either way, the vets have lived before AE, they can live without it giving exp.

    Why keep spending more time and resources in something so obviously flawed and timewasting to developers? A lot of players werent even particularly excited about it when it came in, and since then every update has involved some AE fix. A lot of players also did like it however, and for that reason tickets should stay so level 50s play it and low levels can still earn cash there too with tickets but it does not damage the game later levels.

    Look at the game now with the nerf in, did the game die? No. Will it die if exp is removed? No. Were there more players with exp at full? No. Everyone is still there, playing the same game. Just now there actually playing the game, not one farm map and also I havent received one message asking me what the yellow line was or telling me there leaving team because its better exp and cash in AE.

    In reality, its the players own greed thats leading to the death of the game, not the lack of marketing or anything else. No new player is going to buy into an MMORPG for long if they can get maximum level in under a week. They might last the first months sub thats it because theres not enough 50 content to keep people occupied as it is.

    PS - Did you notice I ignored the bacon question?

    Billboard adverts were actually a cool idea, they werent intrusive like having a popup for some unknown product, yet they added realism to the city. Of cheap tacky shampoos are advertised, then so be it, there advertised in real life anyway
    More realism is a good thing to a certain extent

    I personally approved of the adverts for the vin diesel film you had before. Even if the actual film was kind of bad lol.

    ice/dp?

    With i17 changes for defender, I was considering rolling an ice/dp although I have a few questions.

    1) With Cryo ammo and ice combined, is it enough to slow through SS?

    2) With Chemical Ammo combined with ice -damage, does that have anything equivilant to capped resists with Temp Invul and Tough? (mids shows 111% resists with these two, but it has a 40% buff as standard, does this apply still and how heavy would DR hit it?)

    3) Would it actually be possible to hit anyone with sleet in pvp? from my experience (which is fairly limited) target based AoE attacks rarely hit for more than a second or so because people run out of them.

    4) Is hover still web grenade proof and is it worth taking?

    5) This ones for anyone who has used test. Does defenders new inherant ability change make them viable to PvP with solo?

    6) Does DP really suck that badly damage wise if you get power boost from defender epics?

  8. So its not worth it then even if you slot for accuracy? I know stalkers cap AoE defence pretty easily with hide on, I didnt know however if the fact that holds and stuff hit more now made this a good anti stalker move.

  9. Ahh i sorted it, no idea why but it wasnt accepting paypal again yet it worked via the regular plaync pay method.
  10. couple of people have asked me this now and i couldnt answer, does choking cloud and/or world of confusion suppress hide if it hits the status change or not?

    Im pretty sure that before the costume pack came out seperate from the actual mac version, you could still upgrade your pc account to work on both mac and pc and get a month free playtime as well as the costume pieces.

    Is this still the case now that the costume pack has been released or does it force you to make a seperate mac account to the pc now?
  15. I personally think villains need a more open starting zone, with an option for villains to start there instead of mercy.

    Think about it, all new players on heroes start in atlas park and still meet there even at 50, villains side does this in cap au diable which from a new players point of view, makes the game look dead.

    The actual layout of mercy is one straight run all the way down the island from your starting contact, where as atlas is a central area. This is how a villains starting zone should be, plus villains starting zones do not really have an open gathering area like under the atlas statue on heroes. This would also enhance the experience for new players on villains and they wouldnt have to run miles to get to a mission.

    Personally I blame the low numbers of high level villains compared to heroes on the initial experience of coming into the game. Bad starting experience leaves players going back over to heroes where in Atlas you see activity all around you, high levels and stuff talking and organising stuff like costume contests etc. Villains you get a few players low level in mercy, the rest run to cap looking for a PL, leaving the zone look very dead for a new player.

    If you make a similar layout to the centre of grandville by the recluse statue for a starting zone on villains, im sure villains population would rise and people would use this area more.

  17. Can mastermind pets like zombies and other melees deal with fliers in any way?
    Group fly wouldnt allow them to move very far in theory. Just curious mainly because of PvP, I havent tried other than one duel yet but is this an issue
  18. Dark isnt a bad set, if built right but thats like every other tanker.
    You can have a stone or an invul die in two seconds if its a bad player running it.

    I myself had a dark/fire last year on union, it was one of the most fun and challenging tanks I played and I played every one except elec now to 50. Leveling was a bit of a pain before i got aid self in, then it was just a case of 6 slotting dark regeneration and aid self, making sure to put an interupt duration IO in aid self and your pretty much sorted. With sets though Im pretty sure you wouldnt even need that much.

    Dark has one of the best alround resists in the tanker primarys, possibly elec is a bit better but I havent checked the numbers, even so you dont get darks mitigation.

    Shield scrapper was abandoned because I have a graphical bug that I cant fix with them, Bane I have on 24 and not overly convinced of it, never made claws brute in the end, SS brute got switched for SS tank and traps corr got switched for fire/storm and is on 35 lol.

    Been busy lately, however I played tank for a few years as Invul/SS on EU and PvPed there which I enjoyed but this was pre i13. Elec is the only tanker set I havent played yet and I could do with a PvP charecter now since im starting to get bored of PvE now.
  22. Simple question,
    Which one plays better in pvp currently or are they roughly the same?

    As I see it elec can get more resists but 0 defence, whereas invul gets some defence but less resists, I would have thought elec would be better simply because the defence value of invul would be low still regardless of slotting thanks to DR and make it useless, then resists would be hit too leaving it less than useful.

    Elec however has no defence in first place and has higher resists so will end up on a higher number of resists after DR hits, and it has power sink for endurence recovery help.

    So would I but if I remember correctly there was a suggestion at some point in the old EU forums that got a mention from devs that it would be very unlikely we would get any real anime style stuff other than a few armor pieces, simply because it doesnt fit with the theme of the game since its based on western comic looks.

    Thanks for the info guys, although I went a completly different direction and went traps/ice lol, figured would be a great soloer due to high defences from FFG and you have a lot of stacked slows because of ice and caltrops.

    Then you have the mass AoE powers like ice storm/blizzard/trip mines. Pretty much win alround as I can see ^^
