Thank you for taking the time to fetch all those quotes, Dedlok.

When did this start? I was AFK in a mission for about 45 minutes yesterday when making dinner and didn't have any problems. I didn't even get the popup.

Also, if you leave a thread and then decide you want to reply, the arrow pointing right in the last poster column will take you to the last post

Quote:Let me guess. He was playing some kind of were-critter or other animalistic character, probably a wolf or dog of some kind. Seems to be perfectly in character to me. Have you ever tried telling someone "Sorry, I don't RP" when they try to interact with you? I find being upfront about it leaves all the annoyance behind.I said no offence gawd no reason to blow up.
I dont like RPing cause it gets highly annoying like this one dude was RPing and was like
Do you have meat?
You have meat in your pocket?
Gimmie da meat?
Meat Yes?
I like Meat
and you say your not offended but really? looks like your getting highly protective -

LOTRO offered a lifetime membership when it first came out, and it's still going strong today. They've even brought back the lifetime payment option.
The fact that CO is offering the lifetime membership actually makes me a bit more skeptical. There's a lot of "CoH doesn't, but we do! LOOK! RIGHT HERE!" things I've been noticing about CO, and all it's doing is making me step further away from it.
Basically it's a gamble. If you think you'll enjoy the game enough to play it for a year and a half, by all means, pony up the money because then you won't be out any money. If you're not sure about it, like a lot of CoH people I've talked to, then don't. Wait and see.
I can't see CoH offering a lifetime membership. I could see a reduction in subscription fees as a veteran reward, however. -
Quote:I'm with Tony on this one, it is puzzling. I'd like to hear why as well. You know, I never cease to be amazed at people who get pissed off at RPers buying an MMORPG. I mean, with all due respect, what did you expect? I'm not saying that you have to RP, or that you should expect nothing but RP, but really, isn't this like going to church and then complaining the religious people piss you off? I'm not offended, but I admit that I am a little puzzled.

Quote:There are a couple of chat log cleaners out there that will remove the extraneous stuff for you.EDIT: just to note, you have to actually paste the /copychat into a text editing program to save it. And unless they fixed it, it saves a bunch of coding garbage with it and can be super annoying to read.
This is one - I've used this one quite a bit.
This is another - I haven't tried this one yet but it's supposed to be better than the first. -
Quote:Go to your user CP, there's a section about reputation at the bottom of the default page (will be beneath subscribed threads section).Where is this reputation you speak of, are we talking forums or has something been added to the game?
On the forums, you can click on the scales image under a person's user name to give them positive or negative reputation, as well as a comment box. -

Head to king's row and pick up a newspaper from the detective. He'll be your first contact there when you zone in. Then do newspaper missions until you get a safeguard. After the safeguard, you'll get a new contact.
Also, if you do contact missions (go to your initial contact in atlas to be introduced to one) you'll eventually be introduced to more contacts. -
Huzzah! Thanks for all the advice and replies. I'm taking the out of sight, out of mind approach and minimized the details on it. I don't mind it being there, and I just have to remind myself that there are trolls and then there are trolls. That reputation button must be like power pellets to them.

My sig is on rotation and is pretty much an advertisement for Daggerpoint.

If they put in /facepalm, they have to put in /doublefacepalm

Another thing that might help, and is something I sometimes use when I know I'm going to be doing a lot of work around many other people (raids, etc) is to log out and reload the game in safemode. This drops all your graphics to bare minimum so it'll look like hell, but it works especially in high-traffic areas like WW. Just don't open the options menu while you're in it unless you don't mind readjusting all your settings when you go back to the full game hehe

Reminds me of the time in EverQuest when dragon loot was dropping off stuff in a lowbie zone. Ohhh that was a loot table disaster

I'm using IE8 because I'm using Win7 and haven't gotten around to installing another browser. I'm actually liking 8 better than what I was using previously.
