Quote:Oh, it's the Architect Edition, I was just trying to give that person an out...Oh. I've been reading AE Edition as Architect Edition Edition, thus my reasoning for finally getting to unleash my refinement of the Department of Redundancy Department upon the world.
kinda like a NIC card, right? -

Definitely works with Windows 7, head to the technical support forum and give them the information they ask for.

A quick way to turn your graphics settings down (especially if you have yours tweaked and don't want to keep fixing it) is to click on "run in safe mode" on the EULA screen. This automatically drops your graphics settings to their lowest, and when you log out and back in normally, the settings are reverted to what they normally should be. Just make sure you don't accidentally click on "options" when you're running in safe mode, or the low settings will be saved and you'll have to tweak them again.

I used to do that on the servers I usually played on.. then I started having so many on Virtue that I just couldn't keep up with the servers I didn't play on as much... badges aren't the drive they once were *sniffle*

Quote:That's pretty much the case. I made characters on Guardian when I first started playing, and almost immediately switched to a different server (like, within a day or two), so those characters haven't been touched since.2000 days is about five and a half years... which is almost as old as the game itself.... I don't know when SGs were first established.. but I'll let somebody else do the math on that one. It sounds like somebody would have had to join an SG on the first day and then never use that toon again to reach 2000. lol

Quote:My husband and I met on Virtue. I had sworn off men when I met him.It can happen. I'm living proof.
I met my wife in CoH (on Pinnacle to be exact). The key to it is neither of us were actively looking for a relationship at the time. We got to know each other over the course of a year and a half. Since we were both here to play the game and not trying to find someone, our relationship got to develop naturally instead of feeling forced or artificial.
It can work like that, treating the CoH forums like a dating website probably won't.
With that said, good luck in your hunt.
We were living together within 2 months, despite me being in California at the time and him being in Tennessee.
We now have an almost-level-2 Anklebiter. -
Well.. that... totally doesn't address anything that people have said or suggested to you.

Quote:Well said!Same ride here. My wife of 8 years was my friend for a decade before that. She doesn't game. At all. However, she never gives me any grief about it either. She has her escapes, I have mine. She spends her money on whatever she wants, I do the same.
This is why in our home, we share the master bedroom, our son has his bedroom, I've got my computer room/office and she has her library.
You don't need a gamer to have a good mate. You only need to choose more wisely who your mate will be and treat her with respect and demand the same in return. If you aren't giving it, then she chose poorly. If you aren't getting it, you chose poorly.
Yes, that means when she says, "yo, nookie now!" you get off the gorram computer and tend to her needs. Log back on when done. -
If you haven't been told yet, PM me.

Speaking as a former gamer girl (now a gamer wife), I wish you luck, but if I had been single and read this, I would have laughed. CoH isn't a dating service, although there are plenty of successful marriages that have come out of MMOs (I'm in one).
I'd say look for someone in game but that's so chancy these days (especially if you play on Virtue).
Might I suggest one of the many geek dating services instead? -

Quote:I think "Boom de yada!" could just about sum it up for me.Eh, too many things to count. The genre, the world, the characters, the customization, the speed, the visceralness, etc.
KB is a good case in point (since you brought it up). There is a strong amount of "Boom de yada!" to our attacks that just make a lot of the game fun to play. Good storylines to a lot of the arcs and TFs, too. -

Quote:Transfer works pretty instantly. Make sure you check all three pages of characters. Sometimes they end up on the third page, for whatever reason. Also make sure you did, in fact, choose the right server to transfer to (check other servers). Is character transfer like character copy onto test server, that it can take up to 24 hours to see the character in its new home?
I ask because I moved a character off of champion (I've had no luck teaming there unless I was in a Mega-SG, and when I didn't like their rules, I left) and onto virtue. She immediately dissappeared from champion, but I have yet to see her on virtue. I didn't get any error saying moving to virtue was not allowed, nor was Virtue greyed out on the server list.
So is transfer just backlogged a bit, or is my character well and truly gone? If she's gone, I'll be really PO'ed. Level 30, with a large chunk of AE tickets, and at least 10 complete sets of salvage from the halloween event, along with the badges. -

Just send in a petition via the support option on the main menu. Call it a EULA name violation hehe
For added laughs you can friend the person and watch as it gets genericed. -
