NCSupport is your starting point. You will probably need to make a support account (which is different than your forum account, I have no idea why they do this) and choose the "ask a question" tab.
Of course, do not make any new characters on that server with the same name as a deleted character.
Good luck to you! -
Quote:I don't know what server you're on, but it sounds to me like what you need is a good VG.I know it isn't this bad, but I've been having a few moments where I feel like I'm a diehard hanging on to a dead product. Admittedly, that applies almost entirely to my redside experiences though, which at the best of times has been pretty bleak.
The VG I am in on Virtue runs weekly events, has a very active message board, and an active global channel. There is almost always someone available to team with, get help from, or whatever, at all hours of the day.
Try posting in your server forum, or looking through your server VG lists. It could be the answer to your 'dead product'. -
Quote:I stand (or sit, as the case is) correctedTruncated means that there were 84 matches available (or however many actually resulted), but only 50 visible in that search (or however many you actually count on the screen). When you /hidesearch, you hide both from the list and from the total number of matches found (with or without truncation).
You can test this by putting yourself on /hidesearch, then searching for a very specific set of data that matches your character. If you're on a level 15 mutant defender, limit your search to level 10-15 mutant defenders. What are your results? Now take yourself off hide. Repeat the search. What are your results? You'll be surprised to find that /hidesearch removes your entire presence from the search window, both your name and number. My personal view still stands - It is easy as ever to find teams, and the servers are not withering away into dried up wastedlands where you can hear the cries of "doooooooom!" on the wind on a full moon night.

Quote:I was in the process of posting something like this when I thought I had better check my kheld just to be sureHere's an example of a bind I'm using on my kheld at the moment. It isn't set for a pressdown/release triggering yet. I may get around to doing that eventually when I can figure out how to do it again. But with multiple presses of the keybind all the powers do get toggled on. Again, not a single press of the key and not a simple bind.
Thanks for taking the time to post this example!

Quote:As you wishI was getting on him because I was lonely.... and I like to 'get on' people when I'm lonely.... *wink wink, nudge nudge, say-no-more*
And Photon, I'm certainly not questioning the reaction to the reaction, so to speak. Giant red text isn't the best way to present your side of an argument. He could have been more clear in the screenshot but it seemed like folks were digging a little too deep in their responses.
*edit* Darnit, I can't give you rep again yet for making me laugh, Westley. -
You guys are getting on Prez1 for no reason. Pick a well-populated zone, say Atlas. Do a search for all in that zone. You will get back "## matches found (This list was truncated)".
Now go and count the names on the list.
Yes, /hidesearch DOES hide your name from that list, but it doesn't hide you from the total number.
FYI I just did this and got 84 matches and 50 names.
You guys are thinking the truncated part is referring to the total number, it's not. It's referring to the actual list of names. That's why the disclaimer is on there that even though search found X number of people, it can only list Y, therefore the list [of names] is truncated. -

I got this on the first page of results when I typed "eden trial guide" into the search box. -
Quote:Gah! You're right, I wasn't thinking clearly. I didn't have my morning tea yet.Common sense? On the internet? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Surly, you jest!
*ahem*
Clearly the correct thing to do in this situation would be to read all the other posts about it and say "Hmm, those people can't possibly be having the exact same problem as me, so I'll just start another thread in two different forums detailing the problem since it's not exactly the same as theirs because their account isn't my account, so how could it be the same!" -
As far as I know, it's always been a chance, no matter when the salvage is turned in.
-
Actually, I think the best idea would be to read all the other posts about it and say "Hmm, I bet that's what happened to me, I won't start yet another thread about it because there are so many already."

I've been getting on a lot more teams as well, and I think this might have something to do with no longer needing to be on perma /hidesearch. Yay for being being able to disable email.

You need to get the drivers for your video card. CoX has nothing to do with it.

No, it's not. Newly-rolled Level 1 characters don't have 5 years worth of badges and accolades. Newly-rolled Level 1 characters also take up yet another character slot. Also, if you want a character with the same name, you either need to delete or pay for a name change, neither of which are very appealing.

They haven't given us buddy codes to use in a long time, but they're basically high-end trials that allow you to play/subscribe without having to buy the physical box.

Quote:This is kind of how it is in LOTRO. It doesn't downpour, it just kind of drizzles. There's a few rumbles of thunder that go off now and then, but that's it. The NPCs don't react or anything, and the rain doesn't actually DO anything but look.. rainy. On the other hand... I've got two games, one new, one old, that deal with weather differently. New? Aion. Weather - at least rain, and admittedly in the starting area - isn't *rain,* it's not a torrential downpour or anything, but a light shower (this on the Elyos side, not sure about Asmo.) Purely graphical, it happens, it's gone. Characters will look up, hold out their hands (assuming they're not doing anything else,) generally "react" to rain and it's gone.
C'mon, we get fog in DA, how about rain/snow in other places? -
Quote:It rains and snows in LOTRO, has no discernable effect on gameplay, and is fantastic for atmosphere. That's all I want. The vigilante perched on the roof in the rain at night is an iconic comic image. It doesn't have to be fancy or leave reflective puddles or have particles or require a triple-SLI to take advantage of.Please, *no*... not weather.. not unless it is optional. Make friends with a Stormy instead :P
There's already enough slowdown in-game for different events, let's not add another graphical element to the mix like that, unless it's completely optional and has no effect on gameplay either way.
I'd like to see more costume options that match current pieces - like a 50/50 tights set. I'd like more customizable weapons. I'd like more attention given to Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame-worthy mission arcs, get more in the list like that. -
Quote:Gamebreaking would be if you levelled up while faceplanted and then were unable to train your new level after you were rezed.FYI it does break gameplay when you are faceplanted and very close to leveling, as you don't even get the rez on lvl if you are ssk'd down!
What you're describing is something that people had to deal with FOR YEARS in this game. Most definitely NOT gamebreaking. -
I wish GR would include something like this - a faction switch and AT switch? That would be awesome.
-
Quote:Obviously the solution is to have a trial or task/arc that results in your character getting the option to start over at level 1 as a new AT, while keeping your badges and accomplishments. Yes, you'd have a tiny bit of a boost over others who, say, don't have the Atlas accolade or whatever, but that's your reward for doing it in the first place.Eh, I still think that would be too gameable or exploitable.
You could level as a character that is strong in the early game, and then spec into one that gets stronger in the late game.
Like leveling a Willpower tank to level 35 and switching to Stone. Or a Regen scrapper switching to SR at level 40.
Not all switches would be that broken, but there are a lot of them that would be kind of unfair to the players that leveled the difficult powersets without such a benefit.
I would happily reroll some of my characters, including level 50s, back to level 1 if I knew I could keep all my badges and costumes, while choosing new power sets. -
Quote:One of the times I was on this mission, I flew around once and spawned the map, then proceeded to watch groups that I'd spawn periodically take off towards the portal. However, I also watched a group appear out of thin air and run towards the portal. So it seems like there are both ambush-type and static spawns that will trigger. I soloed this once on my grav/storm controller. It was... amusing.Does the roam and kill method really help toward the mission objective? I got the impression that the Fir Bolgs standing around the map do not break for the gate--the ones that try to escape spawn periodically much like ambushes. Is this correct? I do know that after you beat the mission, there are still plenty of spawns all over the map. I have tried attacking Fir Bolg on my way to the gate, but not only does this not seem to help reduce the number of escape attempts, but also allows time for a few to escape before I can get there.
And you're right about them getting credit for escaping just for getting close. Many times I've defeated a Fir Bolg a few feet from the gate and it still counted as a loss. Not fair at all! -
Not when I'm making a Princess Bride joke, rather than a 5th Column joke.

Take everything off the auction house too, if you're not sure how long you're going to be gone. Just to be safe.
