Quote:For the record, I use ESDF rather than WASD, because I'm morally opposed to taking my fingers off the home keys. I probably should have trained myself to use ESDF when I was making the adjustment from the arrow keys to WASD, but it didn't even occur to me at the time. -

It depends on the recipe. Check first and compare the prices of recipe vs crafted. If they're about the same, then you probably just want to sell the recipe. If the crafted is selling for much higher, then go ahead and craft it.

I would make sure you have your mouse drivers set up properly. I use mouselook all the time in both games that I play with no problems. I did have an issue where I changed my mousechord binding to run forward without autorun, and after that I had to rebind the right mouse to mouselook. Have you tried rebinding yours as well?

Quote:Likewise. The last time I felt the need to upgrade to a new computer for a game was when Scars of Velious came out for EQ. As soon as my husband and I saw the keynote for GR, and the new graphics, we both looked at each other and said "New computers."My thoughts exactly. Even to the point where I'm looking at upgrading in a few months for GR.
We -were- going to buy a new 55" TV with our tax return, definitely not the case now! -
Quote:I'd be willing to bet that the people who are having problems running CoH on windows 7 are the vocal minority. People have had problems running it on XP and Vista too, but again, they are the minority. Don't let a few people's fixable problems keep you from getting a new system. In my opinion, Win7 is great.Ok, now I am worried. I am about to buy a new computer loaded with Windows 7. From what I see in this thread, CoH isn't really compatible with Windows 7. Although, there are those who are using it successfully. I'm hesitant to buy a new system fearing that I will be one of those who won't be able to run CoH. Perhaps I should wait a while for NCSoft to make coding changes that will let the game run will all it's goodies set on high (my new computer will have awesome graphics.) I already know that Everquest 2 (which is much more graphic intensive than CoH) runs great on Windows 7, so whatever it is with CoH.. it's something with the program and not with Windows 7.

I couldn't get mine to run until I turned compatibility mode OFF. I do run as admin, though.

Quote:Right, but Isolator was only available in a zone that you could not return to after you left. You had one shot only, and that was it.Hey, they threw us a bone so we could get Isolator on toons who missed it (or were created before it existed), and I had long given up on that happening. You never know.
Safeguards can be done at any time at any level, as long as you are willing to find a team to do it with. Personally, I've never had a problem with hanging out around the areas where you enter the missions and saying "Hey, I just need the exploration badge, mind if I jump in and out real quick?" I've never had anyone say no. -
You can also try an online generator such as Color Scheme Designer and fool around with some set.

I agree, and the skin tones definitely help. I think it's male 3 that is perfect for one of the darker skin tones, for example.

Quote:Do US hotels still skip floor 13 or has that gone out of practice?Hey, aren't we supposed to take the offensive against the mobs we face? (pun intended)
(FWIW, I like Young 14 for a soft Asian look. However, the number 14 is not considered an auspicious one in that part of the world. Even office and hotel elevators will have a 13 and 13A instead of a 14.) -

Beer does not discriminate! Neither do I discriminate against beer. Ale, Lager, Stout, I love them all!

Quote:I definitely take your meaning there, sorry if it seemed like I reacted badly. I blame having a sprained back and the prescription painkiller horsepill I have to take. You got it paleface...we smokum peace pipe now?
Seriously, I wasn't trying to drive a point home, but there's a difference between nationality and ethnicity when talking about this stuff from an Amercican perspective. American, Japanese, Barizilian, Indian etc =s nationalities. Irish American, African American, Asian American, Hispanic American =s ethnicities. I agree with you and think everyone should just be called American b/c when terrorrists blow up a plane, they dont care what your ethnicity is...only that they killed some Americans.
It always amazes me though in 2009 that people aren't more concious of or don't have much regard to what offends someone or a group of someones (must be my military background). This same exact conversation came up months ago on the boards in regards to the new faces. Someone thought it was still "correct" to say Oriental and Colored in regards to Asians and Blacks. I'm the most non pc guy ever, but even with all the changes...I try to stay current every 40 years or so.
Let's all just get together and have a beer summit
A beer summit sounds AWESOME. -
I don't know you. And if you read a little more carefully, you'll notice that I have not CALLED anyone oriental.

Quote:And yet people still feel the need to drive a point home when the point was already taken, as in the response to my post.On the other hand, it don't hurt to know what commonly offends, and use another word. It builds vocabulary! It makes people less angry! Hooray!
CrazyJerseyan, I don't care what I'm called. I'm one of those people who doesn't care. Call me paleface. Call me cracker, or mick, or honkey. I don't care. It's just a word and has no meaning to me, specifically.
I am not from Europe. I am from America. I am an American. I am not Asian American, African American, Hispanic American, Japanese American, Native American, Irish American, Italian American or any other.
I am AMERICAN.
Seems to me that if people want to promote equality, then they need to stop labeling.
